The room was okay, I stayed in a basic bungalow with air con which worked okay but other than that the rooms are sparce, dull and not particularly clean.
I was in the furthest bungalow in the row which means I had quite a walk through the trees to get to my room. As I was travelling on my own I certainly didn't feel safe doing that walk or when I was in my room on my own.
The staff were particularly rude throughout my whole stay and only speak very basic English.
The bungalows are a 5-10 minute walk from the beach so the location is okay but you do have to walk by a water treatment plant which smells particularly bad!!

Room tip: I would look for a place more central to the town so you don't have to walk through the trees in order to get back!

We stayed at JJ Bungalows from the 14th - 18th February 2012 and paid £133 for the four nights which we thought was good for Phi Phi. This was our second trip to Thailand and we went to seven locations in two weeks with our longest stay in Phi Phi. We were both slightly disappointed at our decision as Phi Phi has changed so much but not for the better! Don't get me wrong we had an awesome time but wish we had spent longer in Railay or gone to Koh Lanta instead. If you are looking for crystal cleaar waters and brilliant blue skys as a back drop for your Thailand experience Phi Phi isn't for you. If you are looking for a party island then go. It was ridiculously hot when we were here but it was so smoggy and the beaches really aren't that nice so we were so thankful to the very lovely pool at J J Bungalows as if we weren't on a boat we chilled there. Our room was absolutely fine, very basic but it had a fridge, good shower and aircon and we had clean towels everyday. There was only one plug socket which was a pain but we coped. Loved the movie channel too which was great for bedtime. Whilst in Phi Phi go to the Rock restuarant (shaped like a boat). As you are leaving J J's turn left and walk down to the busy strip and it is on your left. Cheap, scrummy food and super busy nice atmosphere.

Ok this hotel I booked for deluxe room which I was very unhappy with , don't get me wrong but the rooms looked really good , but for what I pay,d 2200 baht a night was a night mare , there was no wifi unless u pay 100 baht an hour , staff not very welcomin , and even better everytime it rained the room turned into a shower leaked everywhere , and when mentioned , she shrugged her shoulders as if to say what do u expect me to do, I'm not the type to wing or moan but for what I pay, d I did expect better.

We stayed at JJ Bungalow for 5 nights in March 2012. We were met at the pier by a member of staff who took our bags to the bungalows which was great because it is a good 20 minute walk in the heat. We arrived at the bungalow and were instantly disappointed. Considering we paid 1,800baht a night the room very much didnt meet our expectations. The walls and floor are bare with marks, scratches and cracks. The furniture is horrible and looks like it hasnt been replaced for years. The bed felt like i was sleeping on a pile of bricks and the bathroom was awful and smelt. Wi-fi is not included in the price and you will part with 100baht of your hard earned cash for an hour of very slow poor quality Wi-fi. The staff don't seem interested and are very unhelpful. We have been travelling for 3 months now and we are not fussy in the slightest about accommodation but this has been the biggest disappointment of our trip so far. The pool is actually very nice but this is the only positive we could think of. One last warning, the bungalow is situated near to a waste management unit so a walk to the beach/shop/restaurant will greet your nostrils with an awful stench.

I understand that Phi Phi island is expensive compared to its neighbours but we discovered far better rooms for cheaper than we paid. Shop around!!!!

The rooms were amazing. Clean, with a perfect access to the swimming pool. Hot water, fridge, complimentary bottled water. The only downside no complimentary breakfast or wifi. Otherwise no complaints. Would definitely recommend it.
