Breakfast was the only good thing although sometimes the food wasn't fresh. Staff were rude and not helpfull at all, rooms very very dirty, we first thought it was a good hotel, but it wasn't...Not recommend it, you'll find something much better nearby

This hotel is too far from local shops, so you must pay the hotel prices. If you want a beautiful beach location away from it all then you may like this, but if you have small children the balconies are too dangerous.

I stayed here recently for work and it was a very nice location on the beach, but miles away from anywhere. Lucky I had my bike, the staff to my surprise were very unfriendly, long faces don't make a pleasant stay. The restaurant and mini mart on the grounds are expensive.

After visiting Koh Tao, filled with young western backpackers, Haad Yao Bayview in Koh Phangan was a welcome, more adult option. The swimming pool's view on to the quiet beach was lovely, and the sea-view from the resort's sunloungers on the beach was stunning. The beach was quiet, with white sand and clear water. Our room had lovely views of the green mountains and was spacious with comfy beds. Extremely reasonable price-wise to stay, but the food was overpriced (especially compared to normal Thai food prices) and unfortunately was distinctly average. There is a pricey supermarket located next door to the hotel - you can also get taxis into town but we preferred to keep it quiet & local. We organised a tour form the reception which proved a great success. Independent massage huts on the beach were great. There is not much to do but sit and sunbathe - which is precisely what we were after.

The hotel had many good points but we didn't like being high up as the walkways weren't child friendly and our five year old is mischievous. Breakfast was good generally although sometimes the hot food was cool. There wasn't tea/coffee making facilities in our room and no balconies to sit out on. Food in the restaurant was on the expensive side. But what ruined our holiday was my wife left her wallet in the room whilst we had breakfast and when we returned the room had been made up and 4000 baht was missing, all this happened in less than a hour. We also had problems with stocking our bathroom and towels especially. I also felt staff were rude and not helpfull especially over the stolen money. I would recommend you stay elsewhere we certainly will if we return.

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear can be noisy when busy. NEVER leave valuables in the rooms.
