“A wonderful place and a fantastic owner/manager”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

The Blue Ocean Garden resort is located on a quiet and peaceful side of Koh Phangang right at a beautiful pristine beach and overlooked by countless coconut trees. The secluded paradise-like location allows you to completely relax almost instantly and the delicious food of their italian restaurant does the rest (I was addicted to Andy's signature Panna Cotta dessert!).

What really sets this resort apart from other comparable resorts is their wonderful staff and especially Andy, the owner and manager. Andy is always around and will do anything within his capability to make your stay a perfect one. During my stay he was extremely accomodating and offered help and advice concerning anything on or off the resort, even concerning new accomodation when the Blue Ocean Garden was full. I didn't want to leave anymore!

I had a great and relaxing time at the resort and hired a scooter (THB 180 per day) that got me anywhere I wanted to go to in a heartbeat. Even without a scooter you can walk to the village's little center in about 15mins and there also are a few shops, restaurants and spa's right on the main street very close to the resort.

The Bue Ocean Garden resort has something special about it and I can really recommend it. Just write or call Andy and see what he can do for you. The garden bungalows are excellent.

In conclusion: why look any further? I will come go back for sure!

We stayed here for 5 nights because of a recommendation from friends as well as Trip Advisor. We really loved relaxing here! It is the best place to stay on the beach (without a pool - if you want a pool Sunset Cove looked the nicest). The loungers by the beach are padded and there's a nice grassy area. Many of the other hotels did not have as nice of a property. The service was great and the staff was very helpful. We were in bungalow #9 which was 2nd closest to the beach. The beds here are hard - but that is true for all of Thailand. The bungalows are very clean and nicely decorated. The restaurant also serves wonderful food.

We at next door a few times - Seetanu - which we would recommend. It is run by a Belgian couple and they have a great selection of imported Belgian beers. If you like blended drinks get the Punch Coco Rum. It's amazing. I wrote the ingredients down so I could make it at home.

For something fun for dinner, head up the road to Big Mountain for all you can eat do it yourself BBQ for 139 Baht. So amazing. The owner is super nice too. They even have homemade ice cream. We wish we had gone earlier in the week because we wanted to go back!

I stayed at the blue ocean garden br for one week in late july and it was an amazing experience. Me and a friend stayed at a garden bungalow and it was clean and comfy. The service is amazing, the food delicious (the italian food is as well. after 2 weeks I just needed a break from rice) and andy is by far the most amazing host ever. there is no problem you could have that he couldn't solve.
I can't wait to get back there!

We stayed for 6 nights as a follow up of out start in Bangkok. The garden bungalow is really perfect and also stylish decorated. The garden itself and the entrance to the beach are as out of a holiday magazine. For those who like visual perfection and a neat environment we surely recommend this resort. The quality of the food is not really that special as the name of the restaurant suggest. We had some food a few places further on the beach and that was more tasteful and half the price. For those who like this remote beach and go for a rest but who do not need a upscale environment we suggest e.g. Benjamins Hut which resort is on the other end of the beach... which has really nice and neat bungalows with a glass front and who has a little nice restaurant with great food and some nice owners. And that for 15 US per night instead of 65 US.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Ocean Garden. The garden view bungalow we had was of exceptional quality. It had high ceilings, which gave a feeling of space, a comfy bed with high quality bedding and a great porch to relax on. The restaurant attached is a lovely place to enjoy the tasty delights on offer with a view of the beautiful beach. The owner, Andy, and the other staff made us feel very welcome from start to finish. He even drove us to the half moon festival, got one of us in for free, got us free drinks and a chance to stand in the dj box looking down on the crowd!! Amazing service!!! There is a cool bar next door, which was a little noisy one night but I believe that only happens once a month. We found the location good but it is far from Haad Rin, if that is where you want to be based.

This place is amazing. Andy was so helpful throughout, we stayed here five nights and wish it could have been longer. The value is amazing. Private beach, great restaurant, amazing service. This is the place to stay in Koh Phangan. Also, try cosmic massage nearby. 350 baht for a great hourlong massage.

Blue ocean garden is average. It's right on the beach which is great, but I have seen much better beaches. The location is a bit far from any nightlife. It is a perfect place if you want to get away from people. The food is ok just expensive. The room was basic, clean, and safe. Good AC, no TV, pretty good internet. The Thai staff is lovely! They are smiley and sweet.
