We stayed here the week of a full moon party in the hill bungalows.
The rooms are quite basic but have nice bathrooms and are nice and quiet away from the beach and bar. Even on the full moon party night the music didn't bother too much. ( you could still here the base pumping from the beach party a bit)
The food at the resturant was pretty good and well priced. The breakfast's did the job in the morning to fill you up for the day but nothing to write home about.
We lazyed by the pool reading for a few days and everyone else seemed to be happy to chill out too.
It really was good value for the standard of room that you get and how close it is to town and the full moon party beach. You would struggle to fid any better!

This must be the only hotel that was fully booked days AFTER the full moon party.
We stayed in the cliff bungalow. The rooms are kinda basic, but we had a very good sleep quality and a nice view. The prices outside of the full moon season, are also cheap.

While it's only a 5minute walk to Haad Rin (the biggest city on Koh Phangan), it's still very quiet and has a beautiful beach.

Some of the staff can sometimes seem to be a bit unfriendly, because there are a lot of young guests that sometimes behave very rude and has "toughen" up the hotel personal. But most of the staff was nice and helpful.

I also liked the hotel's own restaurant which had good and cheap prices.

This is not a luxurious hotel (though they have very luxurious rooms), but what you pay for, it is great value.

We spent 5 days at Cocohut (it's on Haad Rin Nai - Sunset)
We liked it!
Nice clean rooms.. basic but fair breakfast.. little pleasant pool... Staff helpful ... The nice beach is basically just for hotel's guests (swimming: if windy better go on the sunrise beach, on the other side of the promontory 5 minutes walk)
It's just 5minutes form the bustling night life of Haad Rin Nok - Sunrise (Full moon party) so you can have nice and peaceful nights..
In all we really liked it

Met an Irish couple on our trip to ang thong marine park who told us about this village hotel at koh phangan. The plan for me and the mrs was to head there for a night and see what the island was all about. Due to our trip being a last minute plan so we missed out on the dates of the full moon party but decided to go ahead anyhow.
Got a good rate on the net for a bungalow room at the village resort and decided to head there the next day from koh samui. We got ourselves on a boat from Bangara pier at 250 bath per person and reached there by 3 in the afternoon. Try getting on a boat to the haad rinn pier for closer access to the resort.
Once we got there the first thing that blows ur mind is the mind blowing location the resort is on. It's completely beachside with insanely beautiful awesome clear shallow waters for swimming and snorkeling as well. View I'd rate this resort 10 on 10. We checked in to our lil bungalow which is quite spacious and comfortable and has a fun sit down outside. Try avoiding taking the ones that are higher up coz if u like to sip on ur drink beachside like I do and would not wanna climb a hill to get to ur room post that, I'd stay clear of the higher rooms. However as I walked down the beach I saw the most quaint and luxurious beach facing cottages. That's where I'm gonna book myself next time. Bang on the beach close to the spa and seemed very nature friendly.
The spa experience I'd say was pretty alright. Not path breaking but the setting once again makes it that much more enjoyable. We got discount coupons on check in so didn't hurt the pocket too much as well. 450 bath per person which works out as not too bad..
Do sit by the beach side bar and get yourself the famous alcohol buckets that Thailand offers, 300 bath per bucket, lie by the beach side and chill.. We took out a kayak in the evening and kinda looked around the island for a bit.
All in all head to this resort not to experience an exotic Thailand., bit different from the chaweng experience and just at 5 minutes from where ur at the party circuit goes nuts on the other beachside. Enjoy

Having just got back from a travelling holiday round Koh samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Toa. I just wanted to give this review on my favourite place to stop around that area.

This resort has a private beach, very chilled out atmosphere with excellent staff and simply stunning rooms. If you can afford one, the cliffside bungalows are out of this world. If you thinking of booking one, do it now, you wont be disappointed.

The other advantage is that its 10mins walk from the busy party Haadrin beach. So you relax at a stunning resort then go and party if you need too.

Room Tip: Book CliffsideBungalows
