- dirty, loud, mosquitos, breakfast not worth 1 THB, no service, no system.
i think they have nice pictures on the website and because of the location close to the popular Hat Rin Beach (Fullmoon Party Phangan), they get customers automatically and dont care, if you dont want to come again, as long as you paid your stay..
there are many other places away from Hat Rin on Phangan much more beautiful. we paid
+ location close to Fullmoon Party (and one of the bigger places to sleep close to Hat Rin)

Hotel : Drop In Club Resort & Spa (Thailand - Islands )
Room type : Deluxe Room / Double is on request
No of nights : 4
No of rooms : 1
No of adults : 2
Room Rate per night : 2,485 Thai Baht ( 2,485 x 4nights x 1room )
we left after one night and made a daytrip around phangan with a rental car (THB 800/day) and saw great beaches and went then back to samui.

I stayed here, really wish i didn't. During the full moon period you have to book at least five days, that where this hotel, or most catch you out, before the full moon it's okay, but after its completly dead. The location of the hotel is really bad. I think its in a unsafe area, most nights the local area just does not look safe. The staff at the front desk all go to sleep after 11pm lool one night coming back i actually got my own key from the front desk, i could have got anybodys else, took their stuff. The security guy isn't always there, so it is do able.

The staff in my view are all quite rude and it seems like they just don't care at all, there was only one lady with was okay. The breakfast and the stuff that run it, its completely crap. For me i go or my breakfast and expects everything to be there eg the toast has bits of butter to use, or the tea has sugar or milk, its standard, this stuff wasnt there, its not much to ask, but when you do, they are again rude.

A very un caring hotel that is badly located, very expensive!, rude staff and generally the hotel is big, lool but you know what it was completely dead, even on the full moon night, believe me, thats bad, keep away!!

I stayed here for four nights in Jan 2010. Lovely hotel, but there was building work going on which was annoying... also, the pool was a bit grotty. Room was nice and staff friendly. No complaints I enjoyed my stay!

As you drive in to Haad Rin you can see the huge hotel complex at the top of the hill on the horizon. As far as I can see it is one of the biggest resorts on the island. When I arrived from Koh Tao on the boat, I had no hotel booked, and the tout promised a room for 700B and the brochure looked really good, plus all rooms had air con, fridge, safe and cable TV so all seemed ok.

When we arrived, the check in staff seemed like they couldnt be bothered at all. We were shown 3 rooms, and there was little difference between them so took the cheapest one at 700B a night. We took a room away from the pool areas as I noticed huge loudspeakers there. The room had a great view out over the sea to Koh Samui. We left our bags in the room and went down to pay. The staff seemed to forget what room number we had left our bags in. When we eventually got back to the room, I started to notice that the room was dirty and so was the bed linen. There were holes in the ceiling in the main room and in the bathroom. But the room was large and had all the facilities I needed so decided to put up with it.

I should point out that a large number of rooms here are directly surrounding the pool area, where they play music during the day and turns into a nightclub at night. If you get one of these rooms, you will be unlikely to get any sleep - the music can get VERY loud. The pool itself was dirty and had a loose electrical cable in one corner under the water. Food at the restaurant was quite good, but was over priced so only ate there once.

The worst point about the experience is one that I have encountered many many times in Thailand - NOISE! It seems in Thailand that it is acceptable to do repairs/maintenance on your part of the hotel in the early hours despite you paying to stay there. God forbid you might actually want to get some sleep. It is the same here - booming loud music, people hammering and drilling early in the morning. On the last day it was too much. As I lay in bed around 8:30am it sounded like someone was hitting the wall of room with a hammer repeatedly. Needly to say it didnt stop I had to get up and check out.

We has some other problems with our room and I reported these to reception but nothing was done in either case. Also the cleaners don't seem to do a very good job and don't put new drinks into the minibar either.

On the plus side they offer a free taxi service and are in a good location for haad rin, but theiir laundry and internet services were expensive.

Ultimately this is a very poor hotel. Steer well clear.

Upon arriving in Haad Rin, we stumbled upon a tout for Drop In who was took us back to the hotel with the promise of a room for 600THB/night. Having read that Drop In rooms cost upward of 2,000THB, we were interested but didn't have our hopes up since we have seen some of the less expensive rooms in nice hotels in other places...10 minutes later, we were in a lovely room complete with A/C, TV, mini-bar and swimming pool access!

After a short while, we realised that the music at the pool was quite loud and we were concerned about how late into the night it would go...we stopped at reception where the manager happened to be and, straight away we were moved to another room away from the pool...top floor, ocean facing with AMAZING views. Truly, we didn't even have to go to any viewpoints or lookouts while on the island - we had the perfect view each morning when we woke up!

Only complaint we'd make is that there is construction going on at the hotel and that you can hear it (from roughly 10am). That said, with a lovely room, amazing views and a very low price, you won't hear us complaining!
