“Tour of Ang Thong Marine Park Snorkel & Kayak Speed Boat Tour”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

Pay attention: DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR!! specially if the name of the "captain" of the boat is a character name "Han".
Lets start by saying that there is no speed boat, this tour is made on a ferry-type boat. They advertize it as 45 minutes trip to go and 45 minutes to come back, IT IS NOT TRUE. To get there we took 1:45 minutes, in the middle of the way, the boat broke down and the kids (yes, the 13, 14 year olds) that were in charge took about 1 hour to fix it.
we finally got to the snorkeling spot and this so-called captain didnt stop yelling at everybody making sure we understood that if we loose the snorkel, he would charge us $500 bahts.
The snorkeling lasted a good 10 minutes, after of which, the guy yelled at everybody again to get back in the boat.

we stood in line INSIDE the boat to eat lunch, which was just ok, rice, fried chicken, vegetable curry. not very Thai.

the guy then YELLS that no hike is available because of the waves. wait, what?? yes, we can't hike because of the waves... go figure.
then is kayaking time, after another 35 minutes of traveling of course. kayaking is not my option, but eventhough there are free spots, this idiot captain charges 600 bahts extra if anyone wants to go.

while people kayak, we go in the boat to a beach where there is a vista point.
again, this guy YELLS in your face that we must wear the lifevest to go to shore. all the lifevest seem to be for kids.

in that beach a steep climb to a very nice peak, but again, we are only allowed 15 minutes.

back in the boat and then off to a beach, again the guy YELLS that no hike because of the waves.

in the beach ( beautiful by the way ) we are only allowed 10 minutes and after we are back in the boat to go back.

the trip to go back is HELL, 2 HOURS, not 45 minutes. a lot of people is sick and they guy keeps lying saying that is only 10 more minutes.
ah! no matter that most people is vomiting, the imbecil dude keeps smoking in your face making this worse for the sick passengers. Im not one of them.

at the end, we made it back. but he keeps YELLING and telling everybody to rate him and the trip good in tripadvisor. that is exactly what im doing!!!

AGAIN, AVOID THIS HELL. GO DO SOMETHING ELSE, THIS IS THE WORST TRIP EVER.

“Full Moon Party”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

Amazing time! While parties occur on this beach every night, the Full Moon Party is a must if you are in Koh Phangan backpacking. Be careful of the fire jump rope!

“ibiza-esque”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This beach is great for a full moon party but otherwise its like a meat market, all the girls and guys just eyeing each other up. If you want an Ibiza style holiday with a packed beach and endless drinking this is for you but its a long way to go for that. Not a true backpacking experience and not a family place.
