This hike is not for non-hikers.
There are a lot of loose, slippery and steep rocks! Lots of climbing!
If you want to take on the challenge make sure to wear sneakers or hiking boots.. just because it leads to a beach does not mean you should wear flip flops. I wore flip flops and cut up my toes.
Also, bring lots of water and try to go early in the day as it gets super hot.
Once you are on bottle beach you can take a water taxi if you do not want to climb back up and then down the mountain.
Just FYI.. this trail does not have much of a view. Mostly dense jungle.
Hope this helps!

We did the walk through the jungle to bottle beach. It took us 1 hour and 10 mins and I won’t lie, it’s pretty damn tough!! Hot, sticky, mountainous and treacherous. Over rocks on a not very well marked out path. (There are no bottles marking the path anymore) but you get rewarded with a stunning view at the top and after the precarious descend the view popping out from jungle to beach is breathtaking!

We went in the morning before the extreme heat and when we stumbled out of the jungle at around 10/11am there was no one on the beach. It was stunning!

There are a couple of eats at bottle beach and the boats back to surrounding areas are decent prices.

On a sunny day with no clouds in the sky the water looks a deep shade of aqua as you approach the beach entrance under the shade of coconut trees.

Onto the sand and you’re immediately greeted with the sound of waves lapping smoothly up and down the shore with mountains. Look left and right and you will see mountains making the beech an enclosed little paradise.

Not popular with tourists as it’s over the other side of the island to the main piers and touristy areas, you can expect to have a relaxing time bathing in the sun, or enjoying a cocktail or beer at the restaurant/bar.

When sitting in the restaurant, you may be wondering who it is wolf whistling all the time. Ask one of the staff where it’s coming from and you’ll be taken around the back to see the “English-speaking bird” who will say hello to you and then wolf whistle at you as your walking off and got your back turned.

Amazing
