Visited with my girlfriend, and had a Great three course meal. The Tiger steak tenderloin was cooked to perfection for both of us, rare and mediumwell. The price was right for the quality of the food. Owner has good sense of service, rest of staff not so much.. Almost fun to watch all mistakes of the waitress. They also should get som napkins or tissuses, so diners don't have to share a roll of toilet paper. Great lounge to chill in after meal. I would absolutely go again for the tiger steak.

Arrived at this restaurant somewhat by mistake as the place we planned on eating was closed. Best mistake ever!
Greeted by the owner and chef at the entrance and was won over by the obvious love and respect he has for good food. We had the fried soft shell crab as a starter, which was delicious. The main course though is what had us coming back. Have seen it mentioned here in another review and have to agree- go for the Crying Tiger style!
I had the Beef and my wife had a great fish. Comes out on a sizzling hot pan with an incredible sauce poured on top right before we dug in. My steak was tender and juicy and delicious, cooked medium rare and sliced. Sauce was excellent, with a hint of coriander.
Many other dishes to choose from, but that in particular comes highly recommended and rightfully so. Great meal! Well complimented by a good selection of French wine.

We've been in Thailand for several weeks now and after many nights of rice dishes fish and various soups and excellent thai food in general... We've been craving something a little more like what we are used to. Coming from San Francisco and working in the restaurant industry as a chef and a sommelier we were beginning to miss quality service and food. When we arrived in koh phagnan we were starving and the first place we came across was francks. Needless to say we were ecstatic when the owner explained his specials, wines and recommendations. So far away from home we received the service we had missed. We ordered some western dishes and some Thai dishes and the food was as wonderful an fresh as described. The hello pasta is a relief for me being born and raised in the new york city area an being a chef by profession. And nothing was over priced. Compared to where we live the prices were very reasonable. I should say that Franck the owner an chef was super friendly and pleasant to talk to. We enjoyed his conversation and enthusiasm for food and for Thailand and for the island in general. He gave us some local points if interest and gave us the insider scoop on the island. Last but not least there is a adorable Labrador puppy that goes by "sugar" which could be a reason to visit alone. What a sweet and friendly puppy. We played with her while we finished our drinks and relaxed. So cute! Highly
Recommend stopping by if you are on koh phagnan and definatley if you are staying nearby in thongsala as we have been three nights in a row and more that likely going for a fourth night. Best restaurant in town. Perhaps the island.
