My friends and I had a beach front bungalow one of the older ones and it was simply perfect for the price, job and atmosphere. We had no air con but a fan which was perfect enough and the beds were comfy too. You have a padlock on your room and we all felt very safe. The beach is lovely the sea goes out but a short (very short) will take you to simply stunning lush waters. It is perfect for exploring the sea bed when out has shells, crabs etc. Of course there is the odd bottle but they get washed up. The owner is ace he looks after you all he can and genuinely cares. He is so proud of his little business and of course the new pool (which is gorgeous). He was so helpful especially painting my arm for full moon and even providing the paint. I read reviews about sand everywhere (your on the beach lol) as fir cleaning rooms ask him you have the padlock key and he respects your privacy! Worth a visit I'll be going back fir sure... Tasty food cooked fresh every time and beach front views. Perfect

Stayed for 4 nights in June. We were in one of the more modern bungalows. It's small but o.k. as only there for a short period. Our room wasn't cleaned once during our stay which meant that sand got everywhere, especially in the bed and after a couple of days became very annoying

If you're looking for a hotel on the beach i would stay elsewhere, the beach isn't particularly pretty and you wouldn't want to spend the day there.

Location wise there's not much going on. You can hire a scooter from the owner for around £4 per day.

Owner picked us up and dropped us off at the pier for free

Overall it was average. Ok for somewhere to crash for a few nights but we wouldn't go back and would stay on a different beach.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here in May for the full moon party.

Pros:
Owner is friendly - let him do your paint for the FMP!
Beach looks poor at first, but if you walk out a but the water is shallow for as far as you can see which make it like paddling in a warm bath! :)
Bungalow was modern and clean upon arrival.
Short walk to big c supermarket (50 baht meals if you're on a budget like us)
Usually a party going on at the hostel next door.

Cons:
No amenities in room (fridge, kettle, safe, TV etc.)
Room has no lock, you have to use padlock (we brought a bike lock to close it during night of FMP)
Room was not tidied or cleaned during our stay.
Food isn't great and portions are small.
Mosquitos can easily get into the room.

Room Tip: Go for the aircon room!

Stayed for 4 nights over the Full Moon party in April 2014 with 4 kids aged 8-14 and absolutely loved it. We had the big hut on the waterfront that sleeps 4 and a smaller one for 2 - and it was exactly as we hoped. A veranda with hammock for chilling out on, free wifi, a restaurant that sells great food at reasonable prices, a much more lively place next door (run by a great character called Paul) that has music etc, it was just fantastic to relax and enjoy the Thai beach experience. The guy who runs it is a legend - works all hours, couldn't do enough for us, booked trips, taxis, ferry tickets etc. Our rooms didn't have AC but it was fine, just used the fans. Perhaps a shelf or two in the rooms would help, and no, you don't get the bins emptied, sheets changed etc unless you ask and / or do it yourself, but hey, he's not a slave and who really cares about that sort of thing for that sort of money!

Room Tip: There is 1 hut (Number 1) that is on the waterfront - it has a great view but can get noisy with som...

The owner is a nasty individual who thought it was funny to insult us in front of other guests for no reason. He also demanded cash upon check out and refused to accept any credit card. As for the location, it is very far away from the "Haadrin beach" where all the fun takes place. The v-view is basically a boring bungalow located on a very dirty beach! If you choose the bungalow with the fan, be prepared to bake inside your room, as it is extremely hot! Avoid this dump at all cost.

Good points: The location is perfect and the place is beautiful and calm. The food is indeed good and not more expensive than in other Thai restaurants on the island

Bad points: The services are simply inexistant: In 4 days, our linnens have never been changed.
No furniture at all in the room ! We had to take the small table that was on the threshold .
The bathroom smelled the gutter from times to times
The owner is quite lunatic.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great experience. Big, slightly basic room, though had everything we needed (especially given the price which is very reasonable). Warm showers and very good AC. The food was excellent (amongst the best we've had in Thailand) and the dining/chill out area is right on the beach so great place to relax. The owner, Pot, is a really nice guy and arranged our trips/transfers etc for us, which was a great help. In a quieter area, so if you did want to visit the 'livelier' parts of the island, you would need to get a taxi/tuk tuk, but this does mean the resort is always quiet and peaceful.
