Stayed for 2 nights. Decent sized rooms, very clean with great service. Small pool, but with this wonderfull beach 30 seconds away it doesn't matter. Excellent breakfast with a large variety. Good showers a bit weak water pressure and no electric sockets next to the bed only near the tv, those being the only cons is enough to understand how good this hotel is. Located near a small Village with some excellent restaurants. Recommended.

We stayed 5 nights at Buri Rasa. Knowing that this hotel was brand new, and loving the beach, we just had to come here. The rooms are great. Not large, but fresh and modern. Lots of space for clothes and shoes, a small gym, spa and a small pool. They even have a pillow meny you get choose from if you need something special. In the square in/outside the hotell you fine a lovely wine bar and a cafeteria.
What was not so nice - the sun beds was not leveled, so you tend to slide down a bit, and the umbrellas was just too small - not providing enough shade. The largest disappointment was the restaurant, "expensive", very few thai dishes to choose from and just too much western food. You got very little food on the plate and of poor quality. Luckily the restaurant at the other end of the beach still was there for us to have lunch. To have dinner we went down the street to some of the other restaurants.
We would love to come back.

Room Tip: We had rooms 55 and 56, which are rooms with a balcony and you have some sea view.

We recently stayed at this lovely lovely hotel. I am usually a person who needs lot of things to do and were worried that I would get bored there as I had heard it was located distant from other villages.

We arrived with the hotels speedboat which gave the start of the holiday an extra exotic touch. There is a lounge in Samui where one could change into shorts.

This hotel is picture-perfect and we were upgraded to a nice room with some view over the ocean. Shortly after our arrival a bottle of sparkling wine arrived to our room as we were celebrating our anniversary. But the biggest asset to this hotel is its staff! They were all so lovely and maed us feel welcome at once. A special thanks to Jo by the beach who was so serviceminded and friendly, Joe and his thai co-worker in the beachbar who mixed amazingly good coctails and to Johu(?) in the reception who really made us laugh and escorted us with his friend Peter to the boat for our departure back.

Just outside the hotel there is a plaza with a winebar, a café and a fruitshake-shop.

The beach is very good and there are mosly luxury hotels located there, no annoying salesmen or. We also had some great meals at both the hotel and in the village (Luna lounge, Better than sex and Jip's are recommended). One very good thing about the room is that it is actually cheper to take softdrinks from the minibar than buying them from the nearby shops!

I am writing this review from a 5* hotel in Samui but if I could I would go back in a second! We will definately come back and are hoping to meet up with the friendly staff at this paradise again!

Room Tip: Any room but of coarse the beachfront rooms which comes with prereserved sunbeds.

My wife and I (in our 30's from the US) stayed at the Buri Rasa for 4 nights. I literally have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It is located on a quiet beach but there are still 10 restaurants or so and a couple of bars. Everything shuts down around 11:00 but if rest and relaxation is what you're looking for this is the place to be.

This hotel and location is an awesome value. The hotel is surrounded by 4 other main resorts which all share the private beach. When we went in early July the water and weather was perfect. Very calm and clean waters, perfect for little ones. The hotel also rents out kayaks for free to hotel guests. The breakfast was great, not excellent, but considering what we paid and that everything western needs to get imported, I think the breakfast was more than adequate.

The hotel itself is not expensive when it comes to eating, drinking, and other amenities, but if you are traveling on a budget, there are many cheaper restaurants nearby when you walk down the main street. You can also get laundry done for $2 per kilo. I do recommend you at least try the Wed/Sun BBQ which comes with a show and set meal. The cost of the meal is the same as if you would get it by the nearby other restaurants. There is also a $2 fruit shake stand next to the hotel, which is slightly cheaper than the hotel shakes.

Things like aloe, beach toys, sun screen lotions are pretty expensive, so I would pack them in your luggage, vice buying them there. You can find diapers and other toiletries here. There is also another beach nearby...maybe a mile away, but it's a rough mile going up a steep hill and then coming back down (basically just keeping going to the left and you will get to the beach). We did it twice with a stroller and kid and got some good exercise in. You can also reach the other beach via kayak and it's much faster that way, but we didn't do it as we didn't want the hotel kayak's to get lost or stolen.

This place is not over commercialized like samui and we never got approached by hawkers, which we thought was pretty amazing in SEA. This place is perfect to relax with kids. Though, there is not much more to do than go to the beach and pool ;) One more note, this is a very European hot spot, with lots of swedish and german tourists. We were the minority here as Americans.

We did not have any issues with mosquitos in our rooms. They do exist but they provide you with a mosquito plug to get rid of them if you choose to leave your balcony door open and mosquito bed net.The large bed comfortably sleeps 3, but you could fit a fam of 4. They can also convert one of the sofas into a twin bed.

I really liked the hotel grounds, they have beautiful landscaping. I also found the hotel design to be very practical/functional. All design elements made sense and it was not pretentious or trying to hard. This hotel has a very relaxing laid back atmosphere, but with a very helpful and efficient staff. We stayed here 10 days and would do it again!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are quieter. The rooms seem all the same, so the extra price you pay is for locati...

Buri Rasa Koh Phangan is a superb resort; if offers excellence in every possible aspect. We loved Thailand, and the highlight of our 18 day trip there during June 2013 was the three nights we stayed at the Buri Rasa in Koh Phangan. Beautiful location, very high quality bedding, scrumptious breakfasts, beautiful comfortable rooms, wonderful service - just superb!
