“Great priced hotel in fantastic village”
Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

Had a great stay here. Rooms were nice and well furnished. Friendly staff only thing I would suggest is an information book in the rooms would be handy as we had no idea on the entertainment on the water until it was on and it was by chance we went for a last drink before bed. Village here is excellent would recommend to couples and family. Beach next door is safer to swim in.

Stayed here 3 days when full moon party was on. Value for money, lovely view (we had view of beach although obscured by a tree) but was still amazing with a balcony.

The food was actually quite nice (both western and thai) - Had BBQ on beach which was amazing!

Bed was so comfortable. The small details added to it, like the Elephant sh
aped towel, the shell shaped made on toilet paper etc and a complimentary desert delivered to the room with a handwritten card. Room was quiet. Beach was beautiful (sea was a bit rough).

The only thing to let this down was the village itself - it could have been nicer, although some might argue it was traditional but even so little changes could have been made to the entrance etc to make it even nicer. It didn't ruin the stay and the staff were so polite. Bathroom was lovely as was the shower.

Was a bit far from other places which was the beauty of this place - like paradise - but hotel arranged transport to full moon party and we found local taxi (via Bam Bam massage) to arrange tickets and transport to Muay Thai fight so it was not a problem for us.

Room Tip: Facing beach was beautiful!!!!

Based on the beach in Thong Nai Pan Noi the Buri Rasa is an exceptionally clean and well run hotel. The staff are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and the prices not excessive. We spent 7 nights here and could not fault it. The local village (on the doorstep) is charming and completely unspoilt with great local Thai eateries and bars. Moped hire, Scuba diving, Jet Ski's, small shops and Chemist are all in the area. The view from our room (1st floor) was stunning across the bay. Don't be put off by Koh Pangham's Full Moon Party reputation, this place is gorgeous and we will be back!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view

Buri Rasa Koh Phangan is at the Thong Nai Pan Noi beach, which is one of the best beaches I have ever seen in Thailand. The rooms are very nice, very clean and has a good view. Housekeeping service is amazing, they check the rooms maybe 3-4 times a day. They serve Thai deserts or fruits every afternoon at the rooms. The staff is amazing too. They are always smiling and very friendly. There's a small pool, actually I did not like it at all, the beach is so amazing that I didn't need to swim i n the pool. This beacfront hotel has a nice beachclub restaurant/bar where you may have your all breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very delicious, a bit pricey at Thailand standards but affordable. There are another restaurants in the area as well. The hotel has two shered taxi service to Thong Sala Pier at 10 am and 3 pm for 300 THP per person. They have also taxi service to Full Moon Parties for 300 THB for one way. If you want to relax and have a al beach experience, this nice and very clean hotel is just for you.

Room Tip: They allow for 1 hour late check out if you want to leave hotel at 3 pm shared taxi.

Stayed at Buri rasa for 3 nights in january 2013! We booked a pool view room with balcony. The room was new, big and really nice. Ask for third floor for better view! The staff at Buri Rasa is really nice and does everything for you to feel welcome. Big thanks to Banana and Peter helping my Anna preparing a suprise in the room for my birthday! Thanks!!! The hotel is situated at the beach! The beach is really nice with some luxury resorts! Breakfast at the hotel was huge and the restaurant is on the beach. Transportation from the ferry over the mountain is a bumpy ride but it´s worth it! Thong Nai Pan is a relaxing place with 2 nice beaches and good restaurants! Stay here some nights before you go to Koh Tao!!!

Thank you Buri Rasa!

Peter and Anna from Sweden

Room Tip: Better view from higher floors!

We booked for two nights and ended up staying for five which says it all. The hotel is located right on the beach and right beside the village which meant you had access to all the local Thai restaurants and bars nearby. We had an upper floor beachfront room which was lovely and fresh and had a great view. The staff were all so friendly and Banana (receptionist) deserves a special mention for her special attention to all guests but particularly the young children. We loved the happy hour at the beach bar which had a good atmosphere and was always busy with hotel guests and also others from the other hotels in the area. We also used the massage facilities extensively and Joy and the other girls did a great job on those stiff muscles and joints. These were the best Thai massages we had during our Thai Island Trip and were very reasonably priced. We used the scheduled speed boat transfer which was great and cut out the need to get a taxi across the island hill road if arriving by ferry. The speedboat transfer was not cheap but we felt worth it as it allowed us to catch our flight to Bangkok in the morning without having another nights stay in Samui. Overall we loved our stay. The sister hotel on Samui could certainly learn a thing or to from here.

Room Tip: Choose a beach front room for the views and an upstairs room if you like your privacy.

We stayed at the Buri Rasa in Koh Phangan for 6 nights and it was absolutely superb. We genuinely did not want to leave.

This hotel is quite far from the airport and the taxi ride to the village and hotel was less than comfortable. To get there you have to go through the jungle. The roads are not great and it is a bumpy ride.
Upon arrival at the hotel we were welcomed with a drink and a wet flannel which was very welcome. The reception staff were very friendly, eager to please and full of enthusiasm. The hotel itself is part of a village so great for (limited) exploring. There are some good restaurants in the village, which is literally outside the hotel. Try 'Jups Restaurant'. The food is great and the owner is welcoming and even offers guests Kenya and cards to play if they fancy spending a bit of extra time in the restaurant. You will know you are in the right restaurant if you see a white bunny rabbit.

So, back to the hotel - the rooms are a good size and very well equipped - with complimentary water. There are some supermarkets just outside the hotel so go there if you need more. You will not need to hide your purchases from the store as the hotel staff are very accommodating.

On our first night we are in the village and were delighted to receive a complimentary dessert from the chef with a hand written note welcoming us to the hotel. What a treat! What a kind gesture! This continued for the guration of our stay and we soon found ourselves looking forward to our daily surprise.

The beach is beautiful, however there we witnesses quite a bit of rubbish being washed ashore. This was quickly removed by hotel staff and I guess the hotel is not to blame for rubbish that gets washed on to it's private beach. There was a huge fishing net that had 2 turtles in it. The tutors were in and the staff quickly returned them into the sea.

There is one annoying fact and that is other guests were ore-booking their sun loungers in the morning. I was not expecting this to happen in this type of hotel and had to resort to doing the same thing! On very hot days the hotel provided complimentary ice creams or chilled fruit kababs.

The food was fabulous! The breakfast buffet was well stocked and has a nice range of breads, cheeses, noodles, yoghurt, pancakes, eggy bread (etc) (etc). Writing this is making my mouth water!

In the evening the bar offered happy hour and the restaurant food was fabulous. There is a fire blower and authentic Thai dancing show on 2 of the evenings so try find out when they are so that you don't miss this.

The Buri Rasa was great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

We booked this hotel on agoda.com and got a great rate do I recommend that you book this hotel soon. It was only open for 3 months when we stayed and I am certain the prices will go up when they realise how truly fantastic they are.

Tipping staff is greatly appreciated so see what you can afford. Banana (head housekeeper) told me that they put all their tips together and divide them up each month however we gave certain individuals tips so that they knew that we appreciated their great service. There were some young children and I could not help but notice how very kind all members of staff were to the children. The staff were showering the children with colouring books (etc) and you could just tell by the looks on the parents faces that it was nice that people did not view toddlers/babies are a nuinsence. The kids did not cause any problems for us and appeared to be as relaxed as all the guests were.....maybe they were enjoying the hotel as much as the adults!

I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did and I hope you found this post useful.

Enjoy!
