“Great, peaceful, relaxing!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Nice, peaceful, relaxing, cozy, money well spent!
Bungalows were clean, we stayed in one with A/C, it was really nice.
Staff/family members are friendly, always ready to help you out. Nopi has his 'special tours' to different beaches on the island, we took one to the north of the island.
Food was also very delicious but my first choice would definitely be the night/food market - about 10 minute walk from Phangan Villa (on the main road, behind 7/11).
Beach was nice and clean, we were alone with no one to disturb our 'meditation' :-)
They also had a TV and some DVDs, a computer and of course a good WIFI connection (in bungalows as well).
It really was a nice experience, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes to spend his/her vacation days 'peacefully and quietly'.

Went there last year, going back this year!
Good accomodations, fair prices, right on the beach, descent food, close to the night market.
All in all, really good value, alot of bang for the buck :)
10-15min by taxi to go to Had Rin or full moon party, just perfect, so you can relax and enjoy your stay, but a quick taxi takes you to all the parties :)

Started off a great place - getting a room at the last minute during high season, even though overpriced, but unfortunately our experience was ruined by one member of staff, the receptionist (who spoke the best english). She was constantly rude and unhelpful, treating us badly.
Even though many of the other staff were lovely and very kind (e.g. while on a day out one of the cooks put some drying clothes under shelter when it started to rain.) we had to communicate with her quite a lot which put a big downer on our time there.
The food wasnt great and fairly expensive. if you are to eat here then make sure you eat thai as my sister felt sick after eating one of the pasta dishes. A good place to eat is the night market in the town about 20min walk away.
The pool is actually part of another set of bungalows and werent made welcome whenever we went over.

There are better places to stay in Phangan!

Room Tip: If staying here then dont get a budget room, bareable but not great

Stayed here for 3 nights during the full moon season in September. When you get off the ferry at the pier in Thongsala, it is about a 10-15 minute walk from here. When you enter the resort, it looks a bit rough and ready because there is some building going on but it isn't noisy. There is a range of bungalows to choose from and because we were on a backpacker budget we went for the basic bungalow (400 bhat per night even during full moon season).

This was a pretty small bungalow with just enough room for a double bed. There was a big mosquito net and a really good fan in the room. It was also very clean. I have to say that our bathroom must have just been built onto the bungalow so it was still all concrete. There were no tiles and it wasn't painted so that was a little off putting in the beginning but it was fine.

The great thing about this place is the location. It is right on the beach, it is a fairly quiet beach and it is really relaxing. The view is just gorgeous and they have set up hammocks on the beach that you can lie in all day and admire the view. I think it is one of the few places on this beach that have a good stretch of the beach in front of them so for that reason it was really nice. It isn't great for swimming because the water is quiet shallow. There was a place a little bit further down the beach that played music during the day sometimes but that was the only kind of noise there was.

It is about 15-20 minutes in a taxi from Haad Rin beach and they will organise a taxi to take you there for 100bhat per person. It was nice staying here because the day after the full moon party we were able to relax on the hammocks away from the madness of Haad Rin.

They have free wifi available and there are 2 computers with internet access but you have to pay 1 bhat per minute. We booked our ticket to Phi Phi through here and ended up paying less than what was advertised in Thongsala.

Overall, I think the location really makes this place. It is absolutely beautiful. Although our bungalow was great for us and comfortable I would probably upgrade to another bungalow if I was staying here again.

Originally stayed for 4 nights during the July Full Moon party. Quite a way from Haad Rin and the party (about 20 mins taxi) but very near the ferry pier.
Run by a lovely family who were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Food is very good and not a far walk from restaurants in Thongsala (high recommendations for Pizza Chiara).
After our trip to Phi Phi being postponed due to storms we ended up staying here for a further week and when they saw us return we were immediately offered a discount.
Our bungalow was a very basic fan bungalow with a stunning view of the sea (we were virtually on the beach). The bungalow was small with just a double bed, a fan and a ledge (no storage) but we were used to living out of our backpacks at this point. Encountered a few creepy crawlies and insects but this was inevitable as there were a few gaps in the floorboards (and lets face it - it's Thailand) But as a teenage girl who is terrified of insects it was nothing unbearable.
The beach was absolutely stunning, possibly the nicest beach I encountered in Thailand. It is completely unspoiled by tourists and shops (as much as I love Haad Rin I wasn't a fan of the beach). It looks like something from a postcard, white sand, hammocks, palm trees and nothing else. Thankfully you can just pop to the fridge in reception to get a drink, we returned to the beach when we were staying elsewhere and we were still able to use this facility.

Note: There are a few dogs and puppies who live by the bungalows/beach. They are completely trained and friendly little things who like to take walks with you along the beach/out to the coral reef. They are not vicious in the slightest and we really enjoyed their company whilst staying there.
