Stayed here recently for full moon party.
1. Overpriced, room was terrible, too hot. There is signs everywhere telling you the different charges if you damage something eg. if you happen to sit on the fridge it will cost you 3000baht! Seems they are just looking for something to charge you for.... our TV wasn't working but we wouldnt tell them as were worried we'd get charged....?!?!
2. When we asked for a WIFI password (on our second night having already ate food there twice and had a few drinks) we were told that we needed to purchase food to have the WIFI password which they change every day... even though we were staying in this hotel...the staff merely replied 'it is not enough'
3. Food is TERRIBLE.....
I cannot stress enough not to stay in this hotel!!!

Our fault for not looking it up before we arrived. Staff seemed bored and as if we were a burden to them evn though we were the ONLY people there. Food was TERRIBLE. Asked for a sprite... it was warm. Rooms were like boxes, it has a concentration camp vibe to be honest. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Just come back from 4 night stay on Koh Phangan for Full Moon party. Stayed here as bit away from craziness of Haad Rin. Rooms clean but overpriced considering other places we've stayed in Thailand. Also had to surrender passport. They organised scooter rental for us. Ended up scratching 5 parts of plastic on one of the islands many hazardous but beautiful roads. They tried to charge us 16,250 baht, eventually 8000baht. Been told damage was around 3000baht at most.

The hotel staff said the issue was not their business, yet they refused to give passport back until issue was solved, and even admitted to us we were getting ripped off.

They didn't clean our room or even provide toilet roll, towels, or empty bin in 4 nights. They write in tiny small print on form at check in that this must be requested.

Absolutely disgusted with the two faced attitude of this place, and considering we were there customer, they did nothing to help us in what was clearly a scam. As an English owner told us, the hotel and scooter company make their money from tourists crashing bikes. Sadly, this is an example of the Thai's skill at making as much money at the expense of tourists, and put a real downer on an other awesome stay on a surprisingly beautiful and chilled out island.

Dear value customer,

We would like to explain the misunderstanding about the situation. First of all, our hotel do not provide motor rental service. In this case our guest requested assistance with motorbike rental agency. Only thing we did was to call nearby agency we have in our contact list to serve our guest. Therefore Beer Bungalow will not be held accountable or responsible for what have been agreed among the guest and the agency.

Our value customer were happy with the service until he crashed the motorbike and the damage would cost him astonishing THB16,250. Terms and Conditions was stated very clearly in the rental agreement signed by our guest. However, the agreement have been made between our guest and agency to reduce the cost to THB 8,000.

The night before our guest departure he decided to renegotiate and reduce the cost of the damage he made to THB 3,000. Once again hotel staff were requested to assist with the negotiation. Motor rental agency were furious and suggested that our guest fix the bike up to the good condition before he crashed it. Again our guest refused to do so. After few terrible words exchange between our guest and agency, our hotel staff were also accused of being involved in the scam by our guest despite trying our best to assist.

Regarding the passport our guest has mentioned. Beer bungalow is requesting our guest to leave money or passport as deposit in the safety box equivalent of all big hotels would do as such taking guest's credit card under "Authorised" with large amount of money. In this case our guest were not checking out but request his passport to be returned during the situation that could lead to criminal offense charges.

Regarding the hotel room service, as stating clearly in our terms and conditions (check in process) and introduction card provided in the room for the guest to advice hotel staff at the reception for suitable time to meet guest's schedule.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

Stayed here for the full moon party and was pretty dissapointed. Being scared of not getting accomodation we decided to place ourselves close enough to Haad Rin but away from the full on party and chose this palce at 1250baht a night, booking online. For that price we were quoted lock up facilities, great rooms etc. Having spent a month in Thailand I can say we were robbed.

The rooms whilst clean and tidy are nothing more than standard accomnodation - max 500baht a night, possibly 700 at full moon. The lock is up is a little draw ours didn't work, not that it would have been much resistance.

To add to this you're advised when you check in to pay a 2000baht deposit or surrender your passport, you're given a price list of how much you have to pay for anything damaged - 18000baht for the airconditioner etc, although no one does a check, at check in. Your told the reception closes at 10pm if you lose your key you must sleep on the beach until they open at 7am. Lastly the food (bearing in mind it's an uphill walk/drive of at least 10mins to the town) is terrible and overpriced. Lastly housekeeping has to be requested.

We stayed at Lime and Soda/Ibiza on the nights before and after which were excellent so it's not a phangan thing.

ps you don't really save much on taxi's to the party staying in Bantai.

Room Tip: Go up the road for food!

Dear valued customer,

Thank you for your comment. All photos advertising on the website are actual. During your visit it was a high season and full moon party. The price during peak season may various as you would expect in all places around the world.

Unfortunately, as we are only a small family run hotel we are unable to provide 24 hrs reception service at this time. A small a mount of cash or passport as deposit in the safety box is only a guarantee procedure. I am certain that other places you have stayed you would expect to provide 50-100% of your total room cost Authorised by your credit card or 100% of your first night as an act of assurance.

Regarding the lock of the drawer, we are sincerely sorry and have already done an improvement on this matter. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your kind understanding.
