The beach cannot play. Landscape view just ok. Very poor in service cannot even ask for another towel, using bad voice to customer. Not recommended !!!!!!!

We found slugs and cockroaches crawling out of the uncovered drainpipes in the bathroom. It was the dirtiest bathroom we have ever had the misfortune of using. Staff were lazy and unhelpful, there seemed to be no management of the resort. Pool was dirty and we only used it once. Breakfast was horrible, fruit was old and bread was stale. There were issues with the wifi and which made the Internet unusable for most of our stay.

The positives were that we had a large room (we stayed in a "deluxe" bungalow), didn't have any noise issues and the location was convenient for walking to Thong Sala.

Please note there plenty of much nicer places to stay in Koh Phangan that are close to the beach for a similar price!

Room Tip: Bungalows in middle of the resort seemed to quieter. The most luxury ones are closer to the pool and...

I had a standard room for a night. I was dissapointed in the room, especially for the price, as I sat on the bed a cockroach ran out from the bed covers. As I inspected the bed the bed sheet covering the blanket was a bit damp and there was a lonesome cockroach leg on it. I also found another cockroach leg on the mattress sheet. Leaves me to wonder for the rest of the night where the rest of the cockroach is.
Other than this factor.. the hotel is average & staff were helpful.

We stayed here as a couple in April 2012. We booked this room to stay during the Full Moon Party, as it was one of the few places that does not demand that you stay there for a minimum of 5 nights. We didn't see much of the surrounding area as we were only here for a short period of time.

The room was the worst part. Although not terrible, it had definitely seen better days. The entire room was made from concrete, including the bed, chairs, tables and the entire bathroom(reminiscent of a prison cell). There were insects crawling around the headboard of the bed and because the bed was a permanent fixture we couldn't even move the bed to avoid the bugs. Also the room smelled strangely of Turnips. We were staying in one of the cheaper (but still quite expensive in my opinion) rooms above reception. I think the beach huts looked far more impressive and would recommend booking one of them if you decide to stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted in getting us a transfer to the pier and also a taxi to the full moon party for only 100 THB per person.

The pool was small but nice and being right on the beach definitely makes for some impressive holiday photo opportunities, although the sea is extremely shallow. The bar/restaurant was hit and miss, I had a nice club sandwich but my girlfriend was less than impressed with her pizza. Also with the hotel being on the quieter side of the island I can't recommend anywhere else to eat as there was very little nearby.

Overall we liked the resort but the room was a let down.

Room Tip: Splash out and get the beach cottage as the cheaper rooms in the main building have sorely seen bett...

If you're looking for a nice bungalow hotel, this is it. The whole hotel territory is covered with Wi-Fi, but connection is awful sometimes. There are insects in the rooms, and in bungalows you don't have a ceiling in the bathroom. There is no english-speaking staff from 22:00 to 10:00 o'clock. But except of this the hotel is really nice, the beach is sandy and pleasant, the water is very clear.

Room Tip: wi-fi password is their phone number

A late review, but had to put something in because of the incredible experience my husband and I had here. It was one of my favorite places in Thailand. (which is a big statement obviously). We easily walked along the beach from the ferry to Dakanda and were in shock to see how beautiful this place was. The rooms were huge with lovely outdoor, enclosed showers. There was an inviting infinity pool overlooking the beach and ocean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a short 5 minute walk into Thong Sala proper. It felt like we had the entire beach to ourself. There is a restaurant on site with great food and fun drinks. They can arrange to rent bikes or jeeps for the day. Taxis are cheap and about 15mins to Had Rinn if you are going for the full moon party. I would and have highly recommended Dakanda to anyone!!

Room Tip: You can pay a bit extra and have your cabin right on the beach, but you wont spend much time inside...

I really enjoyed this place because the rooms were very nice and clean and the landscape was really pretty. They also have an outdoor pool which is beautiful.

Tips:
- Make sure to arrange and confirm your pickup from the ferry terminal before hand or you might be left paying to get there

- Eat somewhere else. They repeatedly got our orders wrong and tried to make us pay for other peoples items (apparently they people staying in our room before forgot to pay for a few things!). Also, it's pretty expensive compared to other places.

Room Tip: Do not get the two bungalos that are close to the hotel section of the resort, people on the balconi...
