“Great bungalows - good value outside of full moon nights”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Prices fluctuate a lot in Haad Rin, and this place could be very expensive during Full Moon. But it's worth checking out on other days, when there's special offers.

I was there during Half Moon (when Haad Rin was very quiet) and it was lovely. I stayed in one of the newer bungalows (Hill's Paradise Royal, as you'll find them on booking) for 600bht/night. The bungalows are set comfortably apart, among lots of trees, and they have dreamy balconies with hammocks. The bungalow itself was very big and very well made - dark good, comfortable bed, A/C, lots of windows, warm water. The staff is very kind, and the lady managing it is very sweet and funny.

A large group of my friends and I stayed here for the Full moon and then the New Years Eve parties 2012/13. We booked through booking.com and there was nothing else available on the island (and this was months before the event!). We slept 3 to a room and paid £84 a night for a room (British pounds!!!!) This was crazily over-priced and not worth it in the slightest.
The hotel is right on the beach which is great when you're partying but don't expect to get a night off from the booming music while you're there.
Also be careful when you book about the different rooms - 6 of us were in the main hotel building (with a nice room - hot water, tv, clean) but 2 of the group were put further away in the bungalows which weren't anywhere near as nice as the main building but they paid the same price! They had cold water, no electricity and a dirty, ugly room. It seems like pot luck where you are put.
This is all a shame as the staff here are lovely and very friendly, also the food in the restaurant is delicious! Very good breakfast is included (which I would expect for £84 a night!).
The pool could do with a more regular clean and most of the building seems unfinished. If we had paid £30 a night for the room for 3 of us I would think this a great price for the room we had but for the ridiculously inflated price over full moon they are really trying their luck and I wouldn't stay there again.
(I've put 'very good' for location but that is assuming you want to party every night you're there!)

Just got back from 3 weeks traveling around Thailand. Went to Koh Pangyang between black and full moon so v quiet. Booked this hotel via booking.com as cheap at 800B for aircon and hot water. I would say this accommodation is ok for a last mintue quick night for the full moon but nothing else. Worst hotel we stayed in all trip. I have travelled a lot and have stayed in more budget places than this and the actual room was ok for the money - however the problem with this resort is the front of it and how run down the grounds were. i am not sure whether it is going through building work or if that is what it is like all the time, but hopefully my pic says it all. it is a mess to the point where it should be shut down until sorted. it has this random slide coming out of the front of the building work that apparently people go down on the full moons. the pool was one of the nicest we saw on the trip - however it looks like they had a budget and blew it all on the pool and have left the rest . when we told people where we were staying they laughed in our face and when we showed friends pics of our hotels when back home they thought this place was a joke! they should not be running this resort as it is not safe.

Room Tip: get a room around the pool. we had a basic block up a steap path and felt totally out of it and unsa...

I stayed here for full moon.. The rooms are clean and close to the beach, with a pool beside the restaurant.. But the rooms are not too close to the beach should you need some sleep and a night away from the partying. Food is great and cheap and the staff could not be better. Im back in April and will definitely be staying here.

Room Tip: Book one further from beach.. It will be worth the extra 2 minute walk for a quiet night away from t...

We planned to stay for one night here for the half moon party. When we arrived, the room was very basic and had paint all over the place. The people at check in weren't very friendly either.I became ill and didnt end up making it to the half moon party, so instead had to spend the night in the uncomfortable bed listening to music blaring until 3am and drunk people yelling from the road and beach. We were happy leave early the next day!

That bungalow is very basic and modest. It's suitable for low budget backpackers only!
If your requests are beautiful room and pool, then you should look other place.
In conclusion - For low budget backpackers only! (:

Room Tip: High rooms are cheaper, and the ascent by foor is not so hard.

I booked two nights for the full moon party and payed double the normal price. When I got to the room it was nothing like what the website said and I was very disappointed and tried to cancel my booking but they said they will take money if I cancelled anyway. I was in a limbo and as I turned around there were two other people who wanted their money back. Anyways after calling the booking agent up things were finally settled and got all my money back.

Room Tip: Just walk around for about 10 - 15 mins and you will find good hotels and bungalows for a cheap pric...
