Malibu Beach Bungalows

It's a really pretty place with individual bungalows with hammocks and coconut trees everywhere but the people working here are really cranky and the beach is really pretty except for all the trash needing to be picked up. Could be super if these issues were addressed.

My fiancé and I stayed in the air con room for 2000 baht.
The reception at the resort was very unfriendly. The room was uninspiring at best. The restaurant had a nice feel to it being right on the beach, but the food was overpriced and average.
The only good thing was the location.

As I said HORRIFIC!!! Do not stay at this resort... Expensive not one soul staying in this massive resort, says it all. Staff EXTREMELY rude. No water no lights food terrible. Booked two nights and left within 6 hours of being there. Pool soo dirty didn't looked like it had been cleaned in months and very over grown. Beach ok but seen way better. Experiance here won't leave me. Felt very unsafe. so many better cheaper places to stay close by. Many insects in cheap bungalow at 900b found somewhere half this price at my way at hat salad, highly recommend. Left malibu in haste and angry with no where to go at 7pm bit scary but so glad we left. Never look back.

This place looks amazing on paper and while it has some good points the overall experience meant we checked out early.

The grounds and pool area are lovely but the furniture around the pool is old, rotten and has rusty nails sticking through the slats. This wouldn't be so bad if you could get a pool towel but this isn't provided.

There is a similar lack of attention in the rooms. We stayed in one of the round bungalows and it was lovely with a balcony and good lighting. Unfortunately this was also let down by 'little' things. Water was only provided on the first day (a first for me in Thailand). There were no drinking glasses in the room and we were told to go to the bar on the beach to pick them up ourselves. The glasses were then left unchanged and unwashed over the next few days. The rooms also lacked anywhere to sit apart from the bed and there was no fridge. There was a mosquito net though which I recommend using as we saw a couple of massive cockroaches in the room - check your bags before leaving!

The lack of daily water and a fridge was more of an issue because the restaurant on the beach closed at 6pm due to a lack of customers and there wasn't a shop within a 10 minute walk. That leaves you pretty much stranded when the monsoon rains come down.

When the restaurant was open it served dire western-only breakfasts (ordered by ticking check boxes on slips of paper) and overpriced lunches. It also managed to spoil the calm of Malibu beach by playing loud reggae music over and over on an endless loop.

The beach itself is very good but the sea isn't suitable for swimming (forget snorkelling) as it's too shallow and there are a lot of boats. This, combined with the reggae, meant we went to other beaches during our stay.

Some of the issues mentioned here may seem trivial but given the prices they charge we felt the level of service was completely unacceptable. I wonder if they make their money by filling overpriced rooms during the half-moon parties and then 'putting their feet up' for the rest of the month. Whatever the reason we checked out early and won’t be returning.

We had a Nice Bungalows by the pool. The Beach restaurant does an excellent included breakfast and nice food in general. Excellent Beach Massage among the sculptured trees. Stunning beach with good snorkeling. Great place for Families and Children. Expensive, but worth it.

Yes, the beach is wonderful... That's all!!
The bungalows were horribles, we found 3 very big Cockroachs in the bathroom!!!! And during the night we waked up With a start because of a big cockroach in... Our bed!!!!
No friendly staff. We booked for 2 nights and wanted to go very far away from these bungalows after the first night but staff wanted us to pay the second night because we checked out late!! Don't go!!! Really don't go!!! you have a lot of alternative places to stay for the same price or less...

We stayed here for one night. We liked the novel round boungalows and the bed was comfortable, had a tv and air con. The shower wasn't that amazing compared to the other places we stayed but did the job. Nice balcony although the chairs weren't that comfortable to sit in. The restaurant on the beach was nice and the breakfast which was included was nice. There is a pool there but we didn't use it. Situiated right on the beach and the sand is just perfect - loved the sculpted trees on the beach too. I personally thought it was too expensive for what it was in comparison to the other places we'd stayed on the island.
