Pros: nice bungalow (but not directly at the beach as described on booking.com - NOT "beach front") and nice pool. Cute talking bird at the entrance:)
Cons: no hot water in the bathroom, sewer smell occasionally, very rude manager:(
Due to the latter we didn't even bother to try the food. The beach is as tiny as it gets, it's more of a pebbled sidewalk and you could walk 100m into the sea and still have the water up to your calves... very slimy sea bed. For 1800B per night, just not worth it.

We stayed in one of the older bungalows and thought we had booked the newer bungalows. The difference between the old and new rooms is staggering. Our room was quite clean but very basic and old so we felt that the room was overpriced. There was no shower, just a bath but nowhere to hold the shower head upright.

The actual resort was peaceful, the pool area was very clean and new and there were some nice spots to sit overlooking the sea.

I can understand how other reviewers felt that the hotel owners weren't friendly, it's hard to describe but they just didn't seem to show any emotions yet I had the impression that they would do anything for their guests. They very helpfully provided recommendations, arranged jet skis and took us too and from the port in a professional manner, just without smiles.

The guy running this place has got a serious attitude problem. They promised to pick us up from the ferry when we arrived, but nobody from Dew Shore was there. The manager never gave us any excuse for this, instead he blamed us for not arriving with a smile on our faces. After that he alwas looked away when we saw him and refused to answer when we said good morning. His constant bad mood made it hard for us to enjoy our stay here. If you are easily effected by negative people like him you should pick another place. The pool is nice, the bungalows are a bit run down and there was a unpleasant smell in our bathroom.

Overall this place is just not worth the price they charge. We stayed here for 3 days because we wanted to go to the legendary full moon party. Stayed in the superior bungalow overviewing the pool. They can easily drop the "superior".

The place wasn't really clean. Cockroaches crawling over the bathroom floor, water running is cold of really hot, there is no inbetween.

Bed was really hard, but that is normal in Thailand.

Towels are old and have holes in it.

No real beach, although the stoney sand laying around the bungalows is very clean. The sea water is very dirty in the area of Baan Thai. Not only at this resort, but along the whole coastline.

The diner is not really inviting.

The pool however is really clean and creates a nice surrounding.

Furthermore the sunset is really lovely and wifi connection is supurb.

If you compare this resort with the surrounding resorts close to dew shore resort, this one is above average, but still overpriced. The rate of 1980 bath per night for the superior bungalow is not realistic. Should be at least 500 bath cheaper in my opinion. The lacking of a normal beach makes this place far too expensive.

If you really have to be in Baan Thai, this is an ok resort to stay, but I would advise visitors to stay in the cheaper bungalows.
Otherwise you can find far better and more beautiful beaches on Ko Phangan, such as Haad Thong Nai Yai which are definitely cheaper and better looking than dew shore resort.

Firstly thank you for your positive comments, yes our beach is very clean and has a great sunset view. The water is clean and good for paddling or swimming depending on the tide. We apologise if you saw a cockroach in the bathroom, our rooms are cleaned regularly whether someone is staying in them or not so are always kept clean. Unfortunately even the cleanest resort will still have cockroaches occassionally because of the nature of the surroundings and climate. This is still rare at our resort though.
You would have been most welcome to come and and change your towel at reception but we have replaced any worn looking towels now. We have checked the water in your room and it is running fine at a good temperature. Maybe you tried to use it when the whole island had a power cut. We (unlike most resorts) have our own generator and started this up immediately so that you did not have to experience the power shortage for hours as in other resorts. Dewshore continued to have light, aircon, running water and Wifi connection during this power cut. Our prices are reviewed regularly and remain competitive in our area and market.
