“A reasonable value, nice beach, family friendly, don't recommend Standard Bungalows”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

I had a brief stay here so didn't get a major impression of the services, staff, etc. Overall it was good value, though I stayed in other places in Koh Phangan that were the same price for nicer rooms. I booked the Standard Bungalow which was actually across the street from the main hotel area, reception, and beach. The standard bungalows were pretty basic, and if staying here again I would prefer to spend a bit more to have the other garden bungalows or pool access/view rooms. There was also no internet in standard bungalows but it was accessible in all other rooms. The pool is unique, however one problem with it is that, unless you book the "pool access" room category, you can't really lounge next to the pool since the only sunchairs and deck space available is reserved for the Pool Access room guests. Fine if you only want to use the beach, but some also like to use the pool. The restaurant was a neat space that would be a lot of fun for kids if you are traveling with your family.

Room Tip: Worth spending a little more money (maybe $10-$15 more) to book the "pool access" rooms so...

Since my fiancee and I were on a backpacker budget this place was a bit pricy for us, but we still decided to go for it because of the hotels location. The hotel is situated right on the beach and remember, when in Haad Yao, you pay for location and not necessarily for the hotel itself. We stayed in a Deluxe double room with a view of the pool (breakfast included) and we payed about $60/night. The breakfast was okay, but nothing more.

Positive:
Good rooms, everyday cleaning, english speaking reception, free pick up from the pier.

Negative:
The staff in the bar doesn't speak english. It took us 40 minutes to get our dinner and since we didn't order anything complicated (we both ordered noodles) this is totally unacceptable. The wifi didn't reach our room and we stayed almost next to the reception.

The behaviour of the bar staff was atrocious. There are a few dogs roaming the Haad Yao beach. They're not dangerous, they never attack anybody, they hardly bark. All of the guests in our hotel loved the dogs. One day, while laying on the beach, I see a member of the bar staff shoot one of the dogs with a slingshot. He did not aim next to the dog (to scare it away) he aimed right at the dog and hit it straight in the side with a rock that was over an inch in diameter. The dog was just resting on the beach (this wasn't even inside the hotel property). He did this three times and every time he laughed.

Any hotel that accepts this kind of repulsive behavior or hires this kind of staff should not be supported. I will never stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at see through resort for 4 nights in February 2014. We were 3 adults and 3 children age 8,4 and 3. We had a lovely time and the beach is very nice. The staff at breakfast were always polite and food was nice. The hotel itself doesn't look that nice as it looks like a blob of concrete but once in the rooms they are ok. One problem that we had was that the cleaner left our door unlocked twice after being in to clean, but overall a pleasant stay.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and found the staff to be helpful and very friendly to our children.
The food was nice and it was the perfect location right in the middle of the beautiful Haad Yao beach.
Our only criticism is that the cleaner left our room unlocked two days in a row even after I asked her to lock it after cleaning. Also we had a problem with ants in our bed every night, I even woke up one night to find I was being stung by them.

Second time in Had Yao, used to go to see through every night. Visited last evening with our friend and asked could we watch the football? Rudely told why do you speak thai when not Thai? So we walked on and spent our money elsewhere. Management take note, respect customers whatever nationality.

Even if we had the hill top bungalows we enjoyed the pool whenever we were tired of all that sun &sand stuff. It was a relief to find such a well maintained place, at such a low price! Daily we got our room cleaned and towels changed, the water was hot and running and did I mention the AC was also included?
We ordered lunch a couple of times and the waiter came all the way from the beach side restaurant with our hot meal on a tray. Now that was a wow moment!
It s a cool place to stay but if you're feeling a bit adventurous, rent a bike and hit those full moon parties in Haad Rin, which is about 12 km away.

We stayed here for 8 nights on the swimmingpool side rooms for 2000bth/night without breakfast.
Very clean and nice rooms - of course there is hot water - I think some tourists do not know how to regulate the shower heater!
Manager is very friendly and helpfull! Staff as well even a bit slow - but don`t forget you are in Thailand and on Holidays!!!!

Room Tip: swimmingpool side
