The first impression of this place was a ramshackle office with untidy junk clustered around it. This is actually the back of the reception area, but it's what you see when you arrive over land. The bungalows are scattered around, and there's minimal landscaping.
It's at the Western end of Cholaklum bay. For those seeking solitude and complete peace, and don't mind fishing boats moored off your beach, this may be exactly what you're looking for. For those thinking to find ocean vistas or majestic hills, you'll be disappointed.
But to get to Bottle Beach, which is slightly more typically beautiful, you can trek over to the middle f the bay for about 10 minutes, then take a boat over for 100 Baht each way. Or, once you've trekked to the middle of the beach, you can go and see what the village has to offer.
The rooms were decent, and they actually provided soap (not a given at these prices). The food in the restaurant was quite good. Make sure you have insect repellent - I got eaten alive by the mosquitoes.
