“Sleeping with nature!!”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

On first impressions, this resort is a dream. Accessed only by off-road or boat to the beach, stilted huts overlooking the sea, clear blue waters and pure white beach - it really blows your socks off! After about an hour or so, however, this postcard resort starts to fall apart. I booked the most basic hut for my stay as I was only there for two nights and was travelling with a group. I was aware there would be no hot water, so this was no shock and to be honest was quite welcome after a day of travelling in the heat! I walked into my hut to find a family of small lizards had pitched up home in between my bed sheets. More worryingly, when i approached them, they scattered off up into a hole directly above my bed that i was unable to access…

The 'fan' worked. When I say worked, I mean it spun around. It was absolutely no use in cooling down the room whatsoever but at least the noise of it kept the lizards away.

Unfortunately, the bathroom was dirty. I don't expect to be able to eat my dinner off the floor, but I expect the floor to be mopped at least.

The menu at the resort restaurant was big and varied. I enjoyed sampling the food, although on one of the evenings i ordered a Thai Red Curry and a Green one was brought out to me because the red one apparently would be too spicy for me. Ideally I would have liked to have judged for myself, but whatever.

The staff were very split. One one hand you have the bar staff who are very cheery (although do seem to enjoy a party every night), and then the miserable ones who can't be bothered to help you. It's really the luck of a draw.

And yes, the power does go off between 4-6pm. A bit of a pain, but you're on one of the best beaches in Thailand.

And the beach really does make the resort worth it (sort-of). So beautiful, you have to see it!

Room Tip: Spend as much money as you can because the good are good and the bad are bad!

We arrived by taxi boat which was a hidden extra cost but we booked the room cheaper non direct so why would there be a free pickup!
Staff were friendly and the main young lady with the baby couldnt have been more helpful.
The waiter did get orders wrong and spoke little english but maybe if most of us bothered to learn thai, it would help lol.
The bungalow hut is what it is for 500 baht, cosy but there was ants in the bathroom.... Its a hut and to be expected.
The taxi off the island was cheap and promp.
The beach is stunning and a stones throw from this resort.
Take nibbles there with you and all will be fine.
The pool was lovely also :)
Beware dont get lost coming back from the viewpoint... Not well signposted... Remember the way!

Stayed here in June 2013 after partying at Half Moon Party near Thongsala at other end of island. Needed a nice beach, somewhere quiet to recover and just mellow out. This place was awesome, had to take a songtow [truck taxi thing] across the island, then a small motor boat to this part of island as its REALLY hard to get here by land unless you have a 4X4 with mud tires. Amazing beach, very secluded, only 3 other resorts and very cool people for the most part. Tours of young people come in and out but they don't stay long, and most are in groups like Contiki so they're a good laugh. Resort is overpriced, they charge for EVERYTHING. Internet, extra water, you name it its got a price tag. There is a 7-11 literally right next to the beach where the speedboat taxis wait to take you to this little spot so I would recommend that you LOAD up on all supplies: snacks, drinks, party favors, etc. If you can get over that part its really nice, great pool awesome food, and mostly great company when the tours role through [although it was deserted most of the time I was there which was fine by me]

Room Tip: Takes a serious mission to get here but its the closes thing to paradise on the island.

You need to spend a bit more money in order to really make the most of this resort, it was apparent that the larger groups of people received far far much more attention then the couples!

Our first room, the very basic room with just a fan, was brutal to say the least, the metal roof covered in leaves, let anybody inside of it melt, and the heat made it unbearable even at night to fall asleep inside it, forcing us to upgrade our room.

Our second room which cost a bit more had a fan, air conditioning, and a lot more space, and even came with a tv and DVD player!
The mosquito net in this room was constantly falling during the night as the hook wasn't secure into the roof forcing us to wake up and re-hang it constantly

The food itself was a bit hit and miss, from ranging from Inedible to a delight on the tastebuds, but it was worth it for the prices available.

The hotel itself claims to have wifi. But when you arrive you will be told it is not working, whilst you see the owner on his iPad, and the rest of the staff on their wireless laptops.

Furthermore the electricity for some reason everyday goes out between 5pm and 6pm.

Our friend found a snake in her room, so be careful when you enter, and check everything before you sleep.

The location of the hotel was beautiful though, and the staff were friendly, but the beach does make up for it's flaws.

I'm really surprised to read so many mixed reviews of Bottle Beach and this resort. I have just returned from my second visit in four years to Bottle Beach. It is the most stunning beach I have been to in Thailand and stepping out of a BB1 beach hut onto the beach is an experience you will rarely get in your life. The beach is secluded and absolutely stunning.

The rooms are basic, but actually the beach front huts with fan had been upgraded since our last visit and the bathrooms were really great (a BIG bonus in Thailand). The rooms are great value at 800bht including breakfast. The food is not amazing at BB1, but there are other options on the beach, and actually the food was better generally in high season when the barbecue was a nightly affair.

This is not a party beach, so you'll be disappointed if you are looking to go nuts. It's the place to come and chill and swim and catch up on some reading. That said, we took a jeep to the full moon party one New Years Eve - it was a trek of about 40 minutes each way and the full moon party was gross.

Bottle Beach is amongst the most stunning parts of Thailand. BB1 is the most comfortable resort on the beach.

Room Tip: Go for a beach front room with Fan. The morning view will make your holiday.

I stayed at the beach bottle hotel on the 12 and 13 of March 2014 . I arrived there with not booking therefore I was offer the only room available number bc3 a bungalow facing the garden for 1800 bath a night . The room was ok nothing special about it . Staff where very nice and friendly a bit crazy in a good way but very slow !! The check in took me about 45 mins . Dinner was ok .. Too price for what it was . The best thing in the all trip there was the walk in the forest which takes u in approximately one hour to an amazing view of the Island .. The walk is very though I d recommend to it with proper shoes and lots of water .. And I guess if u are fit it helps !! The view is worthy the pain of getting there !! The beach is very nice with white sands and nice water ..Not much to say about the rest I think one night it would be long enough .. I travelled on my own maybe if u are a couple or group of friends would enjoyed more ...
