Me and 2 friends stayed here for a night since we had missed our ferry. We got their quite late. Because it was dark we had trouble finding the place but during the day it was fine! When we got their the staff was very laid. Back and people were playing volleyball and pool by the beach and hanging around by the bar. They have a great little restaurant area where you can ask for a movie to be played. We loved this friendly youn atmosphere. It is perfect for young adults on vacation! The rooms are very simple but clean. The value/price is great! Not expensive but everything you need :) i would go again! Just make sure you know that the very nice beaches are further south

Five minute taxi ride from Thongsala pier. 100BHT per person.
There are all sorts of moon parties going on, on the island just a taxi ride away.
Quick and easy check in. Friendly English owner.
We had a double bungalow room which was cosy. It got stifling hot in there at times with just the fan. Much cooler outside. Cooled down of an evening to go to sleep but during the day it was uncomfortable. Out on deck we had a hammock to laze. The bathroom did its job. No hot water though.
Right on the beach front – very quiet at this time of year, you could literally have km’s of beach to yourself (and maybe the odd dog).
Beach bar was good, nice to chill out at night overlooking the Thai Gulf. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Food was OK.
Couple of things to note, the floor in our room was wooden flooring which was a bit ‘gappy’ in places and we had a lot of our belongings covered with ants.
Also there is a rather good pool table at the beach bar.
The hotel can drop you off at the pier on your departure day for 50BHT. Maybe they should provide this service when arriving as well to make some extra cash.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Air con would be good if it is not too out of your budget

We selected Coco Garden Resort for our stay during the Full Moon Party after reading the rave reviews about it on Trip Advisor and Booking.com. After having stayed there, I have to say I don't know why people love it so much. The staff were wonderful - very friendly and polite, and will go out of their way to accommodate you. The restaurant was also a high point; great food and a cool spot to hang out and watch a movie or visit with friends.

The low points, unfortunately, were the accommodations. Our bungalow looked like an insane asylum. Everything was white! White beds, white walls, white fans, white bathroom, white fixtures. With all that white, you would think that they would be clean, but no. Our floor was filthy, to the point that we had to wipe our feet before getting into the rock-hard bed so there wouldn't be dirt and debris in the sheets.

The bathroom was basic - a cold shower, toilet and sink. The disadvantage of having the shower in the same area as the toilet is the super slippery tile floor afterwards, on which I slipped and cracked my tailbone.

But alas, we were there for the Full Moon Party (which is a 30 minute drive up and down some scary hills) which was amazing. The ultimate party-animal experience.

Bottom line - If you are going to Koh Phangan for the Full Moon Party and you can't find anywhere closer to Haad Rin, stay at Coco Garden. Otherwise, spend an extra $5 a night elsewhere.

I had a brilliant time at Coco last summer - the staff are great and it was really good value. I'm hoping to make it back there again soon.

Room Tip: It was quite hot when I was there and even though I like the heat I tend to sweat a lot at night. So if you're like me then be sure to have a fan in the room.

We stayed at coco for 4nights over the full moon party. The staff were very nice and helpful through out our stay. The only fault with our stay was our rooms. The double rooms x2 were quite run down with holes in the walls and ceilings and with the fan on the far wall it was very stuffy. What bothered us the most was 3 of our friends rooms were much better quality, with nice toilets and with showers that worked and they were paying the same price. There was a huge overall difference between the rooms and we felt hard done by considering we were all paying the same. I would stay again for the location, staff and good vibe around the place but only if we were in the better rooms.
