We spent 6 nights at Castaway, 4 in a garden bungalow and 2 in a tropical daze room. We absolutely loved it here! The staff at Castaway (everyone from the waitresses/bartenders/cleaners) were all extremely helpful and friendly. One of the very welcoming and friendly receptionists, "Nah", helped us out several times in booking transportation and cooking classes. The amazing customer service we had at Castaway is what really set it apart from other places we have stayed. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for service, thank you to the staff at Castaway!
I cannot say enough good things about this resort, the food/drinks at the restaurant were amazing, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, the beach was very nice. I would recommend this resort to anyone and would love to go back in the future!

Spent 5 nights at Lanta Castaway and had a great time. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. The actual resort is very picturesque and well maintained and has a lovely setting right on the beach. Food and drink both excellent and really low priced. Was travelling by myself but felt safe and welcome at all times. Happy hour at the beachfront bar was great and a relaxed but friendly atmosphere enabled you to chat away to fellow guests and staff. Cocktails recommended! Would definetly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Also highly recommend Dive and Relax the on site dive company - will leave them a seperate review.

We stayed at Lanta Castaway for a week during November. From the very moment we were welcomed, to the last departing smile, I can honestly say that we wre blown away by this resort. Fantastic location, clean and well manicured grounds, and probably the best food on Lanta (at a very reasonable price also). Happy hour was enjoyed on a daily basis and the staff were more than happy to accomodate some unusual drinks/extra Ice requests.

The rooms were perfect, we stayed in a suite. Very comfortable beds, and we really enjoyed the fact that there was aircon for during the hot days, and ceiling fans for the cooler nights (we cant sleep with Aircon all night).

A great advantage for Divers is the location of the Dive and Relax Offices right on the resort premises. We found them to be very professional, with a relaxed Island approach. Diving was great, and I would highly recommend Koh Ha ( 5 Islands).

All said, it was a memorable week at Castaway, and I would highly recommend to family and friends. Thanks to everyone at Castaway for the great service and contributing towards an amazing experience on Koh Lanta

Room Tip: Suites were perfect - S4

Was here for 5 nights (November 2013) in a Seabreeze bungalow. It was a really spacious room with two double beds, really powerful AC and all the facilities you could need. The bathroom wasn't the most modern but was clean and very functional. If I was going again (and I might) I'd go for one of their cheaper rooms as they looked pretty good too and are a lot cheaper.

The restaurant served excellent food at about 120bht for a main course. They also do tex-mex food but we didn't try this as we wanted to stick to Thai as much as possible on the trip. Breakfast (included in the price) was always good. they have a seating area right on the beach and also serve drinks to the sun-loungers in fronto of the beach. The staff were always very friendly. Having said that, Koh Lanta seems to be a really friendly place so you'll probably get that anywhere.

The beach is lovely although it's hard to swim right in front of the hotel due to submerged rocks. However it's a 3 minute walk down the beach to the middle where it's fine. The hotel doesn't have a pool but we went in the sea every day and there's a beach shower to get the salt off.

If you are looking for busy night life it's probably not ideal but there were always people in the bar and a trip to Ban Sala Dan at the top of the island will get you a bit more of a crowd and a tuktuk there costs about 100-140bht. I'd stay at Castaway or nearby rather than there though as it's such a nice spot.

We ate at Country Lao round the corner due to good Tripadvisor reviews. The first meal was delicious. On the second meal they served us virtually raw chicken so not ideal!

The on-site dive centre (Dive and Relax) was excellent. I've dived at a lot of centres around the world and I was really impressed with their professionalism. They weren't cheap but they really put the effort in to make it a great experience.

We stayed for 1 night in a Bungalow. The Resort is very clean and nice, straight at the beach. The bungalows are well equipped and big enough. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cocktails are delicious at the bar. Nice view from the sunchairs over the Beach and the Ocean. Shops and Restaurants are nearby. Still, there are a few negative things to mention:
- breakfast is bad, you can choose between a few different ones, it is not much food and quality is not great
- the beach is not great, water is not clear, sand is stony, rocks in the water especially when it is low tide
I would still recommend this place, you can feel comfortable here and have a relaxing holiday.

My partner and I stayed in the Beachcomer Bungalow which was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is very old and and could do with a renovation given it's the premium bungalow. We were worried about the noise from neighbouring bars given other reviews but we had no issues. I am a very light sleeper and was able to get a good night sleep every night, We really loved the bar which we visited each night for a cocktail and free popcorn. Food and drinks from the restaurant were good quality and reasonably priced. There are also good restaurants within walking distance to the resort if you want to try something different. Pharmacy and 7 Eleven also very close. Downside is there is no pool and the tide was very low at the beach for most of the day. Staff very helpful and attentive. Amazing massages down by the beach- a must try if you visit this resort!

We stayed at the Castaway Resort in October 2013, The rooms - all are small 'chalets' some are Semi's, some detached. But all were very nice, we had a garden chalet with Aircon - it worked well.

Lanta Castaway Resort is not large BUT that it's strength, you can't get lost, the path from carpark to beach winds through the centre of the resorts with chalets on the outsides.
The chalets and the grounds were well maintained and clean.

The restuarant is open air and very good, the service and the smiles from the team were excellent. The food was good - with nice variety to the menu, prices typical to similar establisments.

Just in from the beach is the beach bar and an area for sunloungers. We ended up the evening at the bar more than once!
On the beachfront is a shower by the step down to the beach.
Really the Castaway had what one required for a relaxing holiday where one needed it.

We hired the scooters one day - about £4 a day plus petrol, the good thing was that the hire was 24 hours so we took the scooters in to town that night.

Based on the Castaway's resort are the Dive & Relax dive team - who also were very good, very professional.

All i all a great place to base a holiday at.
