“Highly recommended!! Book and you won't regret it - time for lime was an amazing experience”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

I stayed for 3 nights and there were so many people that I overheard requesting rooms and it was all fully booked up. The bungalow are spacious and VERY CLEAN!! They are tiled in the bedroom & bathroom and are well maintained. There is a mini fridge in the room and it's free to refill your drinking water. There are some motorbikes that run down the back alley early in the morning, but that was minor and I still had really good sleeps.

The staff are all well trained and the customer service is outstanding. The best in Thailand! They are very friendly, helpful and professional.

Breakfast is included and is self- serve until 11am, which I found really convenient. You can help yourself to toast, jams, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal/oats, fruit, coffee, tea and fruit juices.

Don't miss the cooking classes that offer an insight on the Thai cultural and cuisine. You will eat some of the best Thai food at their restaurants and the cocktails are the best on the island. Lemongrass margarita- yum!

Best of all the proceeds go to the animal welfare shelter that the owner runs with the profits from time for a lime. I would make a point to return to koh lanta to stay here again and would strongly recommend it!!!!

If you are an animal lover, or a person who loves to cook Time for Lime is your island haven. Originally, my boyfriend and I signed up to take a Thai cooking class here, and we quickly fell in love with the property. Imagine a cute bungalow, with your own hammock out front where you can relax and cuddle kittens as you read your book. The owner of TFL, runs the bungalows and cooking school to fund an animal shelter. Some animals are kept on site and you are free to play with them at your leisure.

The cooking class is amazing, and well worth your money. The food we cooked as a class was probably some of the best Thai food of our trip.

The other thing that really sold us on TFL, was Mai, the beautiful bartender/receptionist who worked here. She is the most wonderful, lovely person and makes the best margaritas in Thailand. Be sure to try the lemongrass one.

We would highly recommend TFL for anyone who is looking to relax, drink nice cocktails, and hang out with some lovely people and sweet animals.

When I found Time for Lime, I put it on my immediate "must visit" list for Thailand and I am so glad I did. The property is very nice with a well-kept garden and a gorgeous beachfront.
My husband and I stayed for four nights in one of the fan bungalows. It was clean and simply but tastefully decorated. The fan was just fine for the night-time temperature. The bungalow did get pretty hot during the day, but why would you spend your whole day on vacation just sitting in your room? The bathroom had what a bathroom requires: hot water, a toilet (with bucket flushing and a cute infographic on how to use it), and a sink. Actually my favorite thing about the bathroom was that the "drain" was actually just a hole in the floor in the corner, which made it very easy to get rid of the inevitable sand piles.
Breakfast is continental style with cereal, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit of several varieties (if you're lucky you might snag a mango), boiled eggs, juice, tea, coffee, and milk. Serve yourself whenever you're ready, and enjoy the beach while you eat.
Of course, the best thing about Time for Lime is the beautiful animals! Any place where I can hang out and cuddle some cats is pretty much a dream come true for me, and the cats at Time for Lime are real sweethearts. Some of these cats have been through some really traumatic experiences and it is amazing to me how sweet and loving they still are. My favorite was Momo, a petite black kitty who LOVES to be picked up and cuddled.
Time for Lime is a little more expensive than some other comparable properties on the island, but this is understandable considering that they are funding the Lanta Animal Welfare center. The good work they do is definitely worth it.

We originally planned to stay at Time for Lime for 3 days but extended our stay to 6 days. In short, we had an amazing time here, and I hope to get the chance to return to Time for Lime. Great food & cocktails, amazing location right near the beach, friendly people making you feel very welcome, walking the dogs, interesting cooking classes, the contact with the animals, quiet basic breakfast in the morning... For people who think of staying here, it is best to be an animal lover, with the cats hanging around the bungalows - I loved it! Bungalows are nice, bathroom is basic. There is indeed some noise from the small road behind the bungalows but this is minimal, by this time you need to get up anyway :) Recommended!

Room Tip: We had a room with fan (no airconditioning) in November and this was sufficient. Didn't need the...

We first visited Koh Lanta in November 2005 and this year we came back for the sixth time. Every time we have stayed at Time for Lime, because we love this place and it feels like coming home!

The bungalows are tastefully decorated, cozy and very clean. They are basically equipped but you have everything that you need: A bed, a shelf where you can hang your clothes, a desk and a refrigerator. The bathroom has a real toilet (with Thai flush) and hot water. You can choose between fan and A/C room. The small porch in front of the bungalow is equipped with a hammock where you can chill out while looking at the beautiful garden or surf the internet which is no problem, thanks to the free Wifi. If you like it you can enjoy the company of one of the rescue cats that live on the grounds.

There are also several rescue dogs that live at Time for Lime but are not let loose on the ground. You see and sometimes hear them when they are taken for a walk and are free to join if you like to. We made it a habit of inviting two of the dogs, Sugar and Red, to our bungalow at night and very much enjoyed having them around.

We very much liked the self-service breakfast. You get up in the morning, stumble over to the bar and help yourself to whatever you like. There is coffee, juice, bread, fresh fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, cereals, marmalade and honey. You take whatever you like and enjoy it while looking at the sea.

Mai, the receptionist and cooking class teacher is a great person and very helpful when it comes to booking trips, getting a motorbike or making travel arrangements. Her English is very good and it is fun talking to her.

Time for Lime is located at the very end of Klong Dao beach. This means that you are very close to Saladan town where you can do a lot of shopping.

The beach directly in front of Time for Lime is nice but you can find other beautiful beaches on the island if you rent a motorbike. Just make sure to be back for the sunset because the view from Time for Lime is breathtaking and enjoying one of their yummy cocktails makes it unforgettable!

Time for Lime also has a restaurant where they serve delicious food. And if you want to eat somewhere else just take a walk down the beach where you will find several restaurants.
A lot has been written about the paved road that runs directly behind the bungalows. It is true that you can hear the motorbikes passing by. But even during the first days when we were still pretty jetlagged it did not disturb our night’s sleep.

Having visited Time for Lime six times we have been able to watch the improvements Junie, the owner, has made over the years. It is truly amazing and adorable how much work and effort she has put into the bungalows, the organization of the cooking classes and the restaurant.

When we first visited all the rescue dogs and cats were living on the ground. Now there is the Lanta animal welfare center where all the animals are taken good care of. Make sure you visit it!

An excellent spot. Basic but spotless bungalows, fab bar and a delicious onsite restaurant. Lots of cats to sleep on your doorsteps in the sun, adding to the chilled out feel. Very sustainable and doing their best for the environment and for Lanta, it is a responsible and friendly choice to stay here!

Visit Lanta animal welfare too, of course.

We have stayed almost two weeks at time for lime. We liked it here so we stayed longer than planned. It might not be the cheapest option, considering that the bungalows are basic, but a visit to lanta animal welfare will explain why. All the dogs and cats taken care of at time for lime and the shelter.

You can afford the few extra bath, and the kitties stevie and Leo, which will keep you company when you drink your morning coffee in the hammock, will make it worth it. The dogs at time for lime is also super cozy and friendly :-) The cooking class is really good, and so is the drinks.

If you're there for watersports, lanta paddlesports@slowdown is next door. We where there to catch some waves, and rented SUP boards from there. Also has windsurf and kayaking. Beware that there will be a lot of plastic and garbage on the beach in surf season (tourist low season)

Bungalows are clean, and the moped sound from the road, and manual flush toilet reminds you where you are: Thailand.
