Our plan was to stay for 1 week at Fisherman's. But plans were meant to be changed are they not? So we found ourselves there for over 2 weeks, and quite frankly we would still be there except we had some firm dates and obligations on our itinerary that we could not change.
Kun and his band of merry men are what make Fisherman's so memorable. They are kind, genuine, funny, and very helpful. The food is excellent and we sampled almost all the menu and once it was seen what kind of foodies these crazy Canadians are, the chef and even the other guys working there created dishes for us to try. Even Kun's adorable father had dishes for us to try.
The bungalows are charming and the bathrooms are partially outdoors with plants in them and are functionable and eclectic. There is no hot water but the water was not cold, merely cool, and after being in the sun all day it was very refreshing.
There is a large TV in the outdoor chill area and you are able to play DVDs and watch movies there. You can rent motorbikes and tour the island a bit, which we did, but be careful some of the roads on the island are not all paved. We would also recommend the snorkeling trip to Koh Rok as it was very good.
Lastly, we recommend that you stroll up the beach and go to the second massage platform (has blue curtains) and get a fabulous massage while watching the surf and gloating what the poor saps back at home in the snow are doing.
