“Wonderful stay & very good breakfast buffet”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Had been staying in Cha-Da from 27th Nov to 3rd Dec in the Gold suite with my family, room is big with a quite big living room which you can jump into the swimming pool once you open the living room door which my son love it as my son is staying at the living room. Breakfast was very good as it is a buffet style you have so many variety to choose from , although during my 6 days stay most of the standard food is about the same but you can still see certain food items changed everyday. The beach is right infront of the hotel after you walk past the public pool and you also can see the sea directly from the pool !! Location of this hotel is good as it took less than 10 mins to Saladan ( main shopping & restaurant area ) by tuk tuk and it cost 50B per person , you can also choose to walk to Seladan from the hotel which I tried once with my family and it only took you about 40 mins. depends on your walking pace. Overall this is a nice hotel to stay as you can totally relax and the hotel staff are all so friendly & always smile which makes you feel like staying at home.

Room Tip: Gold Suite with direct access to the swimming pool which you can swim anytime you like from your roo...

We finished off our back-packer style honeymoon with 2 nights at a resort, and after a week in a bunglaow on the beach Cha-Da was exactly what the doctor ordered.
The room was stunning (Gold Suite, highly recommend) and had a terrace that led directly into the pool, by which you could access the bar. Loved the big bath and shower and the spacious living room but my only complaint would be the bed - though massive, was VERY hard. I'm all for a firm bed but I barely made a dent on it.
The reception staff were lovely and helpful and very welcoming when we arrived, and the tuk tuk drivers at the security gate the same.
The breakfast buffet was immense with a lot to choose from, really enjoyed it. Was disappointed with the main restaurant though as the food was expensive and not that nice. In honesty we had better meals from street and beach vendors.
There were a lot of families with young children but we managed to avoid them.
Cha-Da is nice for a treat but I wouldn't stay longer than a couple of days as it lacks character and entertainment.
Otherwise, loved it.

Room Tip: Gold suites are well worth the money - huge and with direct access to the pool which is loads of fun

The last week of January was our second trip to ChaDa on the island of Koh Lanta. We weren't disappointed!

The first time was in November 2012 when I went by myself with the intention of scuba diving - not really thinking about the accommodations so much. But I was so pleasantly surprised by how graciously I was treated - combined with the lovely setting, wonderful breakfasts, fantastic swimming pool(s) and that seductive beach - that I could only rave about my stay there to my wife.

So 2 months later in January 2013 we both went - and of course we were welcomed by the manageress as if we were old friends. This time we stayed in a silver suite, which is like a large 2 bedroom unit which has a deck area that is cantilevered over a wonderful and immense spotless swimming pool. Wonderful. In the evening with a bottle of wine on the deck, we just slipped into the water directly from our deck. Need I say more?

(this was in the "adults" section since we don't have children - but who cares! The children staying at the resort were the most polite and "well behaved" I've ever experienced! These are mainly Scandinavian families and we all could learn from how these people raise their children, I'm not joking) Even as a couple without kids we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and would stay here again.

Anyway, great breakfasts, wonderful - open (not crowded) beach. The staff was consistently friendly - even if they didn't all speak English they were the picture of politeness and graciousness (Not everyone speaks super English, but this is Thailand you know, not Kansas-and if you go there once then the next visit is not far away)

Koh Lanta is really a wonderful relaxing "not crowded" island - extremely appropriate for families and singles too. ChaDa caters excellently to singles, adults and families. The location at Klong Dao Beach is perfect. Sometimes there is an evening "Thai buffet" dinner (of course very good) with relaxed low key entertainment. But then there are also many other restaurants all along that fantastic beach as other options - just explore.

At the other end of the beach is a Thai cooking school "Time for Lime" - do it!! Great fun (reserve in advance). Elephant trekking trips, moped rentals (we wish we had rented the moped for the entire stay since it is so cheap). The diving? Excellent.

Again we used "Go Dive" (excellent again - the had a surprise "100 dive" cake waiting for me one day) They pick you up at the Cha Da. Of course there are other good dive centers - they all pick up at the hotels. "Go dive" is super professional and very friendly.

A few months later I asked my wife, "What about Thailand again?" She said - yes - and I want to stay at the same hotel on Koh Lanta - the atmosphere was so nice and I felt comfortable there.

This coming November is looking good - see what I mean?

Room Tip: If Emerald suite: choose a second floor for more spaciousness (high ceilings, better views, no air-c...

We booked this resort through Andaman Sky, who did a fantastic job on planning our holiday for us. We decided to book the Gold Suite. We were very happy with our decision when we checked in. Very tastefully decorated in Thai modern architecture, we found it very hard to leave our room even to go for our excursion to islands! We found it even harder when we had to check as we never wanted to leave! We had direct access to what we were told, to be the largest pool in any resort on Koh Lanta. Our room also had a separate living room. You can start to see why it was hard for us to leave the room! We came as a couple, but this resort is great for families. This resort is located by the beach, so dinner at its restaurant was always a treat. Sip a cocktail while the sun sets, then order your dinner and enjoy! The only slight negative thing about this resort is that there is a language barrier with the staff. Other than that, this place is highly recommended.

It is a nice hotel for families that tend to stay most of their vacation in a resort. It has direct beach access and the huge pool is awesome. If you want to see something from the island it is a little far away from everything. You should rent a scooter to get out and see the beaches further south that are far more nice than the one at the resort. Overall the hotel is a little old and could use some facelifting but overalk is OKAY (a little overpriced though). For us as a couple without kids we felt a little bit in the wrong place and would not stay there again.

Our family of 2 adults + 2 children (3,5 years old) stayed 5 nights in mid march in a pool access room (Gold suite) just opposite the breakfast restaurant. Based on readings here on TripAdvisor we did not have very high expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised.

Pools: All pools were kept very clean. It felt a bit confusing when there were signs from both ways of our part of the the pool proclaiming "quiet zone" and no children allowed. But after some time, we realized there were plenty of families with kids around, and no one cared obviously (neither did we since the hotel itself put us there from the beginning).
We have relatively early habits and did not experience any problems getting sun beds by the big pool, and there seemd to be many sunbeds available throughout the day. Possibly because we were there when the season starts to drops.

Breakfast: Not top class, but still "Good +", actually the best one we experienced from a 3 week trip on 4 different hotels in the area. A lot of people but they did not run out of food. I heard from a friend who were there a week before us, that it was a bit more chaotic then. The fact that they made a big batch of omelets and kept them warm, shows that they know they are usually busy. Omelets were still good and fresh.

Room: We had to sign a disclaimer since we had children under 12 yo when staying in pool access. Room was separated in three parts. First one being the sleeping part, very few lights so rather dark in there. Our children shared our bed. Not much room if an extra bed should be put there.. Then bathroom, size ok but as others have commented, there are big gaps between the walls and ceiling so noise isolation is limited. Last is the small living room with sofa, TV, minibar/fridge and glass doors to the terrace with stairs directly into the pool. Our terrace and part of the pool had shade in the afternoon wich suited us perfectly when going back to the room in the afternoon letting the children play some more but not in the sun anymore. One rack to hang towels on the terrace and one in the bathroom. I would like more places to put wet shorts and towels.

Restaurant: We never tried it since it looked deserted, very few ate there (and by the comments here on TA the food is not worth the extra money it costs, but we can't comment on that). The best food we experienced though was at the neighbour "Noble House Resort". Very good thai food.

Location: Very good on a nice part of the Klong Dao beach with a 100 Baht tuk tuk distance to Ban Saladan village (no walking for us with two small children and the heat that was experienced in march).

The hotel is a major charter destination for TUI and specifically scandinavians so expect to see hords of scandinavian families.
Free wifi was only accessible close to the restaurant by the big pool so there were plenty of fathers and mothers gathered with their gadgets, tablets etc on the little grass surface in the shade, outside the reataurant..pretty funny.

I would without a doubt recommend this hotel to families, and pool access rooms added a nice touch to it.

Room Tip: Pool access (Gold suite) was very nice. We payed ~7000Baht (=1500Baht more per night compared to a S...
