We chose bay view bungalows and paid around 2500 baht per night

+the view from bungalow balcony is stunning
+good breakfast
+good location
+beautiful beach
+ nice and helpful staff

-we had lots of ants in the bathroom and also in the fridge!!
-tv didn't work
-dark room (only two small lamps above the beds
-we stayed there 5 nights and nobody cleaned our room or changed towels
-no wi -fi in the room
-we had two lizards in our room for the whole stay which was ok until they started making loud noises at night.
-Entrance door to our bungalow has a big gap so all lizards and spiders could get in

I loved the place, it was clean and quiet and well situated. Easy access to the beach and close enough to any amenities so that you don't feel that secluded. Each bungalow was well furnished with working air con

The water pressure was not that great and the wifi didn't reach the bungalow we stayed in, nonetheless if you need a break from it all this is the prefect place for it.

WE had a sea view and a balcony and waking up to such a sight is just priceless.

the hotel also has a bar on site with live music every night, they have a restaurant too and offer massages and other pampering treat!

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home!

Room Tip: nothing beats sea view but you'll have to climb up high for it!

We stayed 3 nights at this place, they also have a hostel that is brand new and that's were we stayed.

Clean dorm with good beds and one of the best views in the bay!
Above the hostel is the "Blues Doo bar" and we got 10% discount on all drink and food.
The food ranges from 80-180bath and is really good, we had all dinners at the bar because the bar is nice with good food and 2/3 nights we had an amazing live band that played a lot of Jimi Hendrix!

A good and big dorm for low costs,
We lived at most 8 people in the dorm but it has around 20-25 beds.

We booked 3 nights in this place but only managed to stay 2 nights forfeiting our 3rd night's accommodation at 50% rate. We paid a pretty hefty price (2500 baht) per night which we paid in cash for a bay view bungalow. Effectively we paid 3125 baht per night we stayed. Although the view from the bungalows balcony was exquisite it definitely wasn't worth the money. The showers don't work (barely any pressure...think fairy dust and you are pretty close), the toilet leaks, no soap, no towels, no safe, dusty floorboards, hair on furniture, dusty furniture, no mosquito net, no working TV, etc. Having said that the staff are very pleasant- and I do see the appeal of this place for backpackers...unfortunately for me my backpacking days are over and for the price we paid, we expect at the very least a hygenic bungalow and working amenities.

Lanta Marine Park View is a really authentically Thai place to stay. We last visited Koh Lanta last Christmas and New Year and stayed in a luxury hotel but kept wandering up to the various bars and restaurants along the beach and main road in Kantiang Bay. The bar at the Lanta Marine Park View was one of our favourites. It leans over the bay and has one of the highest positions so has the most incredible view of the boats and the Andaman Sea. Knowing already that the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming it was an easy decision to stay for 12 nights there for this holiday.
Straight away we felt we were returning to see old friends, from the moment we arrived to the sad farewell (when all the staff came out to say goodbye) when we left, we just felt really happy being in the company of such a lovely family. It is the way the resort is run by a family and their friends that makes it truly Thai. Whatever you require, they really go out of their way to provide for you. For example, whenever we wanted to rent a moped (150 baht per day rather than 300 on the main road- a bargain!) the owner would always make sure we had one with the best tyres and he was consistently cheerful with it! Even when his brother ran over his foot with his car by accident he still had a sense of humour and was there to look after the guests!
The resort itself is simple but has everything you need in a place like Koh Lanta. It is right next to a great bar, The Bad Penny, which has some nice wines - unusual for Lanta!- and it has its own great bar with live music, an absolutely superb massage deck where we had a brilliant Thai massage from the friendliest therapists ever and it is super accessible from the beach and the road.
We had a sea view bungalow with air con and it had a nice size balcony perfect for watching the long tails come in and the dive boats go out. The air con worked well, there was a mosquito net and a little fridge. Yes, everything is simply decorated but it was really all we needed. In a beautiful place like Kantiang Bay you don't need much!
If you like getting out and exploring the south of the island, like having an evening out or watching the bay from your balcony I would really recommend you visit the Lanta Marine Park View. We found it was perfect for what we wanted as we were diving for 6 days and liked to go out each evening. It is a very relaxing, happy place. Many thanks to all the staff who took so much care of us and always took the time to talk to us and help us make the most of our holiday. We will be back!
