There are times when you just have to give credit when its due. The food at this restaurant is outstanding. I have been to Thailand many times and the food at Beach House Koh lanta is quite simply the best I have every tasted since coming here. The chef is a genius, what she manages to put together in a quite basic kitchen is wonderful. It really should not be missed. You will not get a better meal on the island. And that's a fact! I only hope they can keep up with all the customers who will come back again and again. Loved it

A friend and I stumbled upon Beach House Restaurant just intending to grab a drink and watch the sunset but ended up staying for dinner and thank goodness we did! My first night eating dinner here (yes, we went back the next night!) easily ranks as one of the top three meals of my life.

Here's what we got on both nights:
1. Calamari: so addictive! Tasty batter to calamari ratio.
2. Khao Soi: SUCH tender chicken - falls off the bone! Was expecting egg noodles, but it looked like it was served with spaghetti noodles?
3. Hang Lay Burmese Curry with Pork: slightly sweet but very tasty and so comforting with a fluffy pile of rice
4. Wing Bean Salad: this is one of two of my favorite dishes here. It's a slightly warm salad doused with the most incredibly flavorful sauce. Will not regret ordering this!
5. Choo Chee Kung Prawns: THIS IS THE MAIN EVENT! You must order the prawns! Meaw does NOT skimp on the quality and size of the prawns she uses for this dish. You'll be asking for more rice to sop up the red curry sauce that is drizzled over the prawn!
6. Massaman Beef Curry: this is my go-to and Meaw definitely serves up a solid massaman
7. Coconut ice cream! All of their ice cream flavors change seasonally and are homemade with real fresh fruits!

Relaxed and is right on the beach with a movie-like view of the sunset every night. This never gets old. Great for couples, friends, and/or families.

Junie is originally from Canada, but currently lives in Chiang Mai with his wife Meaw, who is the chef here. Junie runs the front of house and has an uncanny ability to make you feel immediately comfortable like family. Whenever the kitchen slows toward the end of dinner service, Meaw always makes an effort to visit with each table to say hello and chat with the guests. The homey vibe coupled with Junie and Meaw's affable personality and familiarity makes you feel like you're home.

Meaw is the only chef working in the kitchen with one helper and two burners. Please keep this in mind when you arrive at the restaurant and put those patient pants on! She makes everything fresh to order (nothing frozen or pre-made here people!) so naturally that will take a little longer. Grab another round and enjoy the sounds of the ocean tide splashing against the sand because the food is most definitely worth the wait.

Would also recommend calling in advance for a reservation

Cannot rave about this place enough. The food, was quite simply the best Thai food, I've ever tasted. We had the Tom Yum & Chicken Penang which were mouth watering. It's a small venue with a fab ambience, right on the waters edge. The owners are extremely friendly, especially the wife who is the chef, who having heard our loud raptures, came to chat to us. She seems genuinely pleased that her food is received with such enthusiasm. In her words, "she cooks with love". The only downside is by writing this review, word will get out about this place & we won't be able to get a table!!

Had our first meal (of many we hope) at the Beach House Restaurant yesterday evening and it was everything and more than we expected.
The previous reviews sum it up & are all true.....
Sublime food, wonderful hosts Meaw & his delightful wife Kitty (who does the cooking) and a lovely setting overlooking the beach.
We will definitely return before going back to the UK as is is worth the trip from Long Beach just for such a lovely meal & evening.

We went to the restaurant based on the reviews. It was even better than expected. Each dish surpassed the last one! We had the lob moo, fried morning glory and burmese curry. The chef Meow came out to find out exactly what we wanted in terms of spices and flavours. Her partner Juny is a great host who attended to every need. The staff were all lovely and helpful. You couldn't ask for more in atmosphere, but the best part was the food. Everything is fresh, perfect, flavourful and prepared exactly to taste! You cannot miss this restaurant - after all that the price was incredibly reasonable and the dishes were bigger than most restaurants in Koh Lanta. We will be going back tomorrow. And this is one of the best meals I've ever had!
