We loved Koh Jum precisely because there is very little of anything there. You can walk on the beach for miles, swim in the gentle ocean, and still eat well at the small resorts lining the beach. When we visited, there were lots of families there, and the beach really is wonderful for the little ones. You can easily rent a scooter or bikes to explore the island, but you may just find you want to stay lounging on the beach or in a hammock.

My wife and I spent 4 nights here, which was just right for us. It was quiet, pretty, just lovely. Really not much to do but relax

Visited the island for 2days after the very touristy koh Lanta.
It was very quiet, and I mean very. Almost nothing going on on the whole Island, but if that is your thing then go for it.
I would advise avoiding the large hotels (where the boat may drop you off) and finding the quieter ones as they are much more friendly and you know your money is making more of a difference to an individual family. We stayed in 'big boss' and the owner is te most friendly person we have met in Thailand (and people here are friendly!)

Few places to eat along the beach and in the villages with a mix of food.
You can either relax on the beach or hire a bike and visit other beaches. We had a day of each. In terms of riding the roads are kind of difficult to Manouvere for a beginner (like me) as the are dirt tracks with bumps an holes unless you are in the 3villages.
Make a stop in the villages to make your trip more authentic.

Definitely recommend this place if you like
To go 'off the beaten track'

Very quiet laid back island. No big resorts here just small groups og bungalows on the beautiful beaches.
