Lovely and long beach that isn’t crowded. Nice sand and water.
There are some hotels, restaurants, bars and shops along the beach which is convenient, but it’s not too developed which is a huge advantage.

Great spot to watch the sunset.

Actually the beach at Long Beach is fairly similar to the beach at Klong Nin with the addition of it being quite long. Made up of sand and water it's a good place to spend some time. I came, I saw, I liked, so I stayed longer, much longer which tells you how nice it is.

It's a nice looking beach and is fairly good for swimming. Nice azure colour in the shallow areas. The beach is never too crowded but there are a lot of tourists staying here too.

There are plenty of choices of bars and restaurants along the front. Just take a walk and stop wherever takes your fancy. Most seem to close about 10 but there are 2 or 3 bars that play music until 3ish. Not sure why though as even in peak times, there is no-one at these bars. It feels like they are trying to get more of a party scene going which seems a shame.

All in all, a good balance of chilled beach with plenty to do.

Next time, I'd probably try a beach further south.

Long Beach is not nearly as wide as Klong Dao, but the drop-off is much steeper (at least at the northern end, where we stayed), so you'll be swimming in no time. A rock a couple hundred meters offshore at the northern end across from the Lanta Resort is home to reef fish. Establishments are not as tightly packed along the shore as at Klong Dao, but is undoubtedly heading in that direction. The water here is clearer than at Klong Dao. But there is very little hard-packed sand, so runners be prepared. Also, the sand is coarser than at Klong Dao due to a higher proportion of coral fragments. Pushing a stroller across this beach is harder than pushing a rototiller through clay soil. The vibe is definitely younger than at Klong Dao, though not as young as at the beaches further south. More middle-aged people here than at Klong Dao, which caters more to older people and couples with young kids.

A very nice, familiar guest house. Two minutes to walk to Long Beach. Fair price, clean and calm. Central to several restaurants and bars.
