“Can't Say Enough”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014

This was my second stay at Narima. I love Narima because it truly represents the Thai experience without inflated prices. Narima, Kho Lanta reminds me of what Phi Phi was like 25 years ago-quiet,jungle bungalows beachside, good food with long conversations seaside. The management is extremely helpful with excursions and other needs and ensure you get the local price. I can't say enough about the staff and their congenial Thai ways - more of the world could benefit from their courteous pace and ways. Dive shop is convenient on site. The Narima owners have always checked in on how I was doing. Sure there are little ants, geckos, monkeys and even squid fishing off the beach - it's a lush beautiful tropical setting - a lot of attention to green went into the resort. Hopefully Kho Lanta south doesn't go the way of the north island, growth and development has been tough on the tranquility of Thailand we all want to enjoy.

Room Tip: I go for the low budget row C and am totally satisfied, I'm a few steps from the beach for view.

Excellent family friendly resort with kind and competent staff. Good food, great quite beach and nice bungalows. Just great for us grandparents, children and grandson. Easy to get around the island from the resort by taxi.

We spent 10 relaxing days at Narima in December 2013. The food was amazing, the accommodation simple but tasteful, the staff were friendly, the pool was great and the beach bar in the evening was fantastic. We were there with our 2 small children and lots of other families also there. It did start to feel a little crowded around the pool the closer to Christmas it got, which encouraged to visit more of the island. All in all, it was a lovely place to stay and I'd definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: We stayed in the B row

We came there from Bangkok on a easy trip from Krabi airport arranged by Narima resort.
The service, the food and the location are amazing. You are not close to the other resorts or restaurants so you really feel on an isolated island.
People working there will be nice and caring but, as I have seen, will switch to minimal interaction with westerners who behave as they own the place. So basically, Thailand is not some colony and the colonial behavior is rude. So chill out, smile, and laugh about yourself when you go clumsy.
That's how it works there and it's lovely so !

Apart from that for the price you pay, you get a good room with air con, en suite bathroom and a nice breakfast in the main room.

So enjoy !

Be prepared for families with children, but also young and older couples. There is no party vibe, just calm relaxing. Enjoy your basic but comfortable bungalow and it's balcony. Rest at the pool or beach. Have a great massage. Eat and drink tasty thai food by the beach or in main restaurant. As time slowly passes...

I recommend this place to anyone!

Best features:
- nice seaview from the bungalows (A row) with balconies, beds for 3 pers, minifridge in the room and both fan and AC
- good housekeeping
- complimentary fruit and water at reception/restaurant
- nice pool area and sunset beach
- friendly staff make you feel part of the family
- reasonable and good massage at the beach
- nature setting (love the way they have taken care not to exploit or overdevelope the property)

Could improve:
- restaurant/pool toilets should be better maintained
- breakfast buffeet could change more from day to day (excactly same food for 7 days)
- insects/animals (mosquitoes, ants, bedbugs? and really big geckoes can freak you out at night)
- weak shower pressure
- the bungalows (especially the bathrooms) need some renovation soon to keep up with time

This eco-friendly beach front resort has all private bungalows with plenty of room and private balconies. The included breakfast is delightful and the service exceptional. We had lunches and dinners there as well - so fresh & yummy! Both pool & beach are private and lovely. During low tide you can walk out quite far (on sand, not rocks!). One morning we were woken up by a family of wild monkeys scrambling on our roof and balcony. They were so curious but still wild - amazing! A few hours later I watched a bald eagle stalk it's prey a few feet in front of our bungalow. Quiet & peaceful this place is paradise! We only had 2 nights here as it was fully booked - I would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: We had one of the end units furtherest away from the restaurant - it was lovely & quiet. Definit...

We opted for a seaview bungalow and it was well worth it! The bungalows are far enough apart that you aren't really aware of your neighbours and each bungalow has a deck looking out over the sea. The resort itself is quite rustic and traditional (which we loved) and the staff are really helpful. I agree with some of the other posts there were a lot of children (not the fault of the hotel) but you have the option of eating down at the beach bar/on the beach where the kids tend not to be so that worked pretty well for us. Overall, Narima was a lovely place to stay, be mindful that it is quite far away from other things to do but taxis are cheap if you do want to venture out. The beach area is lovely and the pool is great for watching the sun set whilst sipping on some cool drinks. The accommodation is clean, functional and in good condition. I would recommend a stay here if you are visiting Ko Lanta!
