“Great location, decent amenities”
Reviewed May 4, 2014 via mobile

Stayed three nights at the start of low season.

Breakfast was average for this class of hotel in Thailand (omelettes and fruit are good, rest is so-so). Generous with the water, which is important when the weather is hot.

Breakfast and bar staff were helpful and enthuiastic, no complaints about the rest of the staff, if nothing particular to commend.

Pool in the main area is nice. More for playing than proper swimming, but it is a resort! Beach is really nice, plenty of beach towels, lounge chairs etc (it was low season).

Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, if slightly run down.

There are so many bad points , I will start with the good . location , great beach , close to great beach bar/ restaurants ( Funky fish, Thai cat , OZone bar. Comfortable bed , breakfast if you like flies with everything , sorry that is it !
For the bad points , room walls coverd in dead Mosquitos , hardly surprising when there are so many . Tv channels in our room 4 English speaking . No guide you have to flick through countless channel to find some . DVD player , you have to disconnect satellite box first to be able to play them . Power outage , no water for few hours , very noisy air con , in room 2009 where we stayed , lovely out door bath on balcony , but no tap to use it ??? . Please do not have an emergency after the hours of 11pm at night because there is no one in reception or security on the grounds , I know as we required them on evening at 11.45 as it sounded as if a murder was being committed in the room next to us . Tried calling the emergency 225 number , no answer. In desperation went to reception and searched resort for help at 1 am , no one!!!!! How bad is this . What if there was a fire , what if you had a medical emergency etc etc . Totally unexceptable. Complained to the rude short haired woman at reception , she said this was normal , unbelievable!!!! In short most of the staff were lazy and unfriendly , except lady selling tours ,guy on egg station , one lady on reception ( curly hair) and gardeners .They were going through the motions, not interested , severe lack of enthusiasm at breakfast , instead of standing around kill some flies with your electric bats , clear plates , serve tea and coffee . Need manager to delegate . The spa pease do not use , my wife and I booked at 6 pm , my wife's massage started at 6.15, kept me waiting face down on bed for 30 mins as they had to get a masseuse in ????? Surely they knew this before it started ? We complained they, said we give free 30 min massage , and my wife's massage would finish same time as mine . We were very tired from travelling to Ko lanta that day , so agreed . Eventually my masseuse turned up , then the ladies decide talk for the whole hour , should have said something to them , but we were seriously over the supposed relaxing Spa experience by then . It turns out the " free" 30 mins came when we paid for another 1 hr session each , was not happening , they very reluctantly agreed to just free 30 mins free with out paying again. The whole price for the Spa treatment was eventually removed from the hotel bill after much complaining , we never went back for our free massage. If you want a superior massage for a fraction of the cost , try " prawtee" massage on beach ( by Funky fish)
Now to the the best bit , had read on Tripadvisor of things being stolen in hotel , so was extra careful to seperate, money, passports , credit cards etc . Leave nothing out for temptation . Locked all bags . Put bumbag in pin code safe with $4000 au dollars in , a lot maybe but we are travelling for some months . Did not ever need to use this money , while there as had changed sufficient in Phuket before arriving . Night after we had returned from trip to Ko Rok ( excellent) which was booked via hotel . I went to put my credit card in the safe . The door would not open as there was as all metal screw on the floor of robe jamming it. I could just see under handle of safe and see a metal tag , that had a screw missing so put back in . Opened safe bumbag still there , put card in , cash appeared to be all there , all good. On checkout the next morning , we moved 15 mins down the road to another hotel ( bags never left our sight with us at all times) Decided to change some money up , went to my bumbag and discovered that $ 1400 au dollars missing . Emailed hotel straight away , then hired scooter to go to police. Police took us back to hotel . It appears that under that " metal tag " is where the master key opens the safe !!!! . So there is 2 master keys or someone who has access to it is a thief . In short the manager Pramote , made lots of promises , refund all our 5 day stay , pay for next 5 days at new hotel ( $50 a night . So should have got back $500 for original stay ( less hotel.com commission ) plus $ 250 for new hotel . In reality offered $ 200 for stay there , plus 50 in voucher from hotel .com . Paid for 3 nights new hotel .
Police said this was not an isolated case at that hotel , BEWARE . Sorry for rant , but please be warned . In closing love Ko Lanta, and the people except one of liar and one thief.

Started with minor problems, power outage,no water at all one morning, could not get in room as door broken,no room cleaned.needed security as fighting for two hours from people in next room.walked whole complex at 1 am phoned emergency numbers,no answer.if their was emergency there would be no one to assist you.worse still on check out we had had $1400 Australian dollars STOLEN from in room safe.
Police involved ,manager can talk the talk in front of them ,but then just lies about how he will compensate you.we have never experienced this in all of our years travelling to Thailand.Do not stay here other people also have had things stolen from rooms.
Police said they have been to this hotel before, not an isolated incident !!!!!

We have visited many islands in Thailand . Lanta was how I remember Thailand 15 years ago unspoilt . Lanta sands resort we can't fault you . We had a small problem whist we stayed. The manager was on to it and all was resolved with two hours . Mote you and you staff were 1st class. Location perfect for those who want to chill on the beach ,pool people that was great too. Many places to eat on the beach (thai cat yummy) food in the hotel was also very good and well priced. Worth taking a tuk tuk down into town street dinning a must . Will be back with our family next year for sure . Great for families and couples . Worth knowing if you have valuables don't leave them in room safe . Reception offer the use of safety deposit box

We booked originally for two nights but ko lanta was so beautiful we stayed for 4. The hotel definitely added to our experience. Clea, perfectly located, modern rooms and very well priced.

The breakfast offers a lot of choice.

We had a pool access room which I would recommend, it was great being able to swim first thing directly from your room.

The hotel provide you with 3 litres of water for free each day which is a nice touch.

Only issue is wifi is pretty sporadic but this was the only thing I would say was a slight problem.

It's in the perfect location on the beach, near to tons of bars and restaurants. We loved Thaim out and Thai cat restaurant. Thai cost do delicious freshly cooked seafood and the staff are wonderful.

100% recommended

This is a very nice hotel that is right on the beach and very convenient. You can choose from pool access rooms to small bungalows. Was fortunate to get a bungalow right at the front of the beach and it was great. About 30 steps to a clean and crystal clear water and nice sand. The staff are very helpful and speak English well and are polite. Would like to personally thank the Manager Pramote as he was a very helpful and very generous person. I had the pleasure to meet him at the airport as we were on the same flight and then again at the resort. I was able to visit a few other resorts while in Ko Lanta and this is the best value and location for your money. The food is very good and reasonable and the breakfast is very good and has an egg station. Great fresh OJ each morning. The location is close to great restaurants and bars on the beach with lots of choices and fresh seafood. The resort is on Long Beach and it is one of the better beaches on Ko Lanta. Lots of fish to see snorkelling and have lots of diving and stand up paddle boards close by to rent. Two pools to swim with one upper for the pool access rooms and a lower pool close to the beach. There was lots of lounges at the pool and beach and was never an issue to get one to use. Some of the bungalows also have an outdoor bath tub that is very nice. If you want to be close the pool, opt for the pool assess rooms as they are very nice. If you want a little more privacy choose the bungalows and try to get one facing the ocean and beach.

Thanks again to Pramote and the rest of the staff for making our stay great! Will be back nest time in the Koh Lanta area.

Room Tip: The bungalows at the end face the beach and have a great view.

Based on the ratings we didn't expect too much. The check-in was friendly but they informed us that the booked bungalow was not available for the first night. However, they already prepared a very friendly solution by offering us a better room with direct pool access for the first night and a free dinner including wine, which by the way was excellent. The rooms are large and offer a good comfort. There are some parts they could be replaced or renewed but everything was working fine. The resort is very nice with the pools and the restaurant next to the beach.

For the rest of the stay we enjoyed the bungalow with nice shower/bathtub in the private garden. It was convinient that there is always enough water in the room. Usually it's often a problem that you only receive one or two bottles. Sleeping quality was good. The resort is located directly at the Lonag Beach, probably the best beach on Koh Lanta. Bars and restaurants are directly around the hotel at the beach. Otherwise you have to rent a moto to achieve other bars and restaurants.

Breakfast was excellent, especially the fruit buffet and the fresh orange juice. You can enjoy a great view over the beach and the sea.

Price is ok for what you get!
