“Even powerless...amazing”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Quick, tasty and loving atmosphere! This place is fantastic, the food is lovely and so much to choose from, it takes so little time to bring the food and always lovely and mouth watering. These people are fantastic and they are always friendly. We were staying across the road and it was brilliant as they always remembered us and welcomed us. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner always amazing!

“Family run and they put some love into their food and service”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

I ate three times at Cook-Kai during my stay on Koh Lanta. It made a very nice change from my resort restaurant as its focus is entirely on food rather than also being on rooms and other hotel services. The restaurant is spacious and open-sided. Electric fans are used to create breeze on still evenings

You have to take your shoes off to walk on Cook-Kai's raised hardwood floor. The menu is written in English and it is fairly extensive but naturally is biased towards Thai dishes. I loved their massaman curry and their Southern style yellow curry too. In both dishes sweet potatoes were used. As always in Thailand, the sticky rice and mango made for a delightful dessert.

One morning I ate breakfast there - a so-called "American Breakfast" with eggs and bacon, toast, fresh fruit and nice coffee. Good value at 170 baht.

My one complaint about Cook-kai is that beer prices are too high. Even in Bangkok 140 baht would usually be steep for a large bottle of Thai beer so I drank water instead.

“Always packed”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Great restaurant and always packed with tourists. Fabulous standard menu and good variety of specials. Service excellent and the price is really good. Received a plate of morning glory with each menu - great flavour and a bit like asian broccoli in oyster sauce
