I was looking to spend 2-3 days on long beach, after taking a tuk tuk and noseing around I went to book 'somewhere else' (this is the name of a beach resort, but they were fully booked, I popped next door to LD Lanta and was offered a bamboo bungalow with fan for 1 night and then an a/c new build for 2 nights the bamboo are nearer the beach and half the price but whens its a 2 min walk who cares. After 4 weeks of travelling just wanted a bit of luxury and was so impressed ended up staying 6 nights before flying home. The new bungalows are great clean fresh (showers a little weak but I can live with that) comfy beds, tv, free water, fridge and veranda, reception fantastic and asked how I was everyday. The beach takes ooow a good 2 minutes to walk to!! lol The food okish but I would eat breakfast at 'somewhere else' (the resort next door) great coffee eggs and the musili with fresh pineapple and water melon, yogurt and honey is gorgeous only £1,20. A great way to end your days is watching the sun go down with a beer and laughing at the guys trying playing volley ball on the beach. The Pirates bar ajoined to LD Lanta has a fab party on sunday nights with fire dancers and a snake show. Travelling alone is not easy with your a mature female but LD Lanta was just the ticket go ahead book!

Room Tip: The bamboo bungalows are cheap (around £10 per night) and cheerful with fans and a mosquito net but for a bit of luxury go for the concrete a/c bungalows ( around £20 per night) couldn't fault them.

If you are like us and don't really spend much time in your hotel when the beach is RIGHT THERE then you'll love this place.
We stayed in an air con double with hot water. The rooms get cleane everyday and You have free water in the fridge. It's basic, but clean and comfortable. As one of the older B&Bs the benefit is that the cheaper huts made of bamboo are actually closer to the beach, whereas other places have replaced their huts with concrete monstrosities.

The family that run the place are wonderful. I must say though, anyone who stayed later in November may have felt it was a bit hap-hazard because Sandy who runs the desk went to have her baby so one of the men took over and didn't know as much.

Sandy was brilliant, an we rented motorbikes and did most of our tour booking through her as it was the cheapest.

I agree that there are other places that do better breakfast (try the breakfast Aladdin at somewhere else next door) but they have the best selection of fresh Fish beach BbQ in the evenings - and you can usually bargain them down to a good price.

If your looking for the best location on long beach youve found it!

...because, the place itself at the Beach is amazing but,......when we arrived the first room, smells so bad, that we ask for changed, the second room , the AC was not working, next Day we changed again, that was OK but for 800 Baht (20Euro) , I am sure you get better Deals !!!
But still, when we come back to the room, we had to open the windows for 20 minutes, because it also smells. Breakfast is included, but you have no choice, after a week,...I can not see any toast and strawberry Jam anymore ! When you order something, there was not one day, where they place the right order, always forget something, because , the english is very poor !
The Food is overpriced !!! But almost everywhere !!! No much big difference, like to Germany !!!
Making a cheaper Holiday in Ko Lanta, this times are over,.... i.e. Croatia or Turkey has nice beaches too , better Food and less expensive !!!
But, Yes,....during the Day it's quiet,... in the night you also could hear the Music from the Bar !
ANd at least,...Money,Money,Money,....the owner want for everything money and they tried to get more than you actually have to pay !!!

Room Tip: ....maybe take the cheapest Hut,...I think they must have less smell :-)

I just loved this place. You can either go for a bungalow literally on the beach or you can take a beach hut which is quite basic but very cheap. It's a very relaxing area away from all the normal touristy stuff you get in Thailand.
