Just returned from a fabulous holiday at the Pimalai. My parents had originally booked to meet up with my brother who is travelling in Asia and I was included in the trip at a later date and was booked into another hotel in the resort as the Pimalai was full. However, the hotel were happy to give advice around the co-ordination of the travel arrangements.

On arrival in Krabi, we were greeted by a member of staff, who provided us with water and took our luggage to a hotel minibus. We were then transported to the coast for a speedboat transfer to the island. This made the transfer much easier and again, water was provided and our luggage was taken care of.

On arrival at the resort, we were greeted by the manager on the beach, who gave us flower garlands and we were given further refreshments at reception. We were then informed that the accommodation had been upgraded so I could stay at the resort. We were taken to one of the pool villas, and were really impressed with the space and quality of the rooms. The views of Kiantang Bay were stunning and while it was a distance from the beach, there were regular buggies from the Seven Seas Restaurant, and drivers were happy to drop you off at the villa if requested.

Housekeeping visited daily to clean the property and provide clean towels. The complimentary bottled water for bathroom and fridges were replenished daily, as was fresh fruit and cookies. In the evening the beds were turned down, and staff would also wash up and remove any rubbish in the evening if needed.

The food was of very good quality, with plenty of selection at breakfast, including freshly baked bread, eggs cooked in a variety of ways to order, meats, cheese, fruit and smoothies. The Seven Seas had a western menu, which was really good and we also ate at the Rice and Spice Restaurant, which serves great traditional Thai food. The Beach Restaurant also serves grilled fish and meat, which was also enjoyable.

We went on trips arranged through hotel. A driver was arranged for a trip to Old Town. He waited at a drop off point, whole we explored the went for a meal. We booked a trip to Koh Rok, but this was changed on the day, due to rough weather. However, we were taken on a four island tour instead with stop offs at snorkeling sites in the area. A BBQ lunch was provided, which was good. The sunset boat ride to Koh Haa is a must. Again there is an opportunity to go snorkeling and enjoy the sunset on the way back with wine and canapés. We also took part in a cookery course, which was great fun and made use of the Spa, which was tranquil environment.

The staff were happy and courteous across the hotel at all times, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel never seemed crowded, and the beach was also quiet. The area is unspoilt and peaceful, which made for a restful break.

The transfer back to Krabi airport was easy, and staff assisted at the airport with security and check in, which meant that we were able to get through without any hassle.

Overall, from the moment we arrived, the attention to detail and service we received was fantastic. This was my first trip to Thailand, and I can't wait to return at some point, except for a longer stay next time, and hopefully this will include a further visit to the Pimalai.

A lovely hotel with amazing staff!!

Stayed for Christmas and New Year with our 3 children and had a lovely time, food in the hotel is very good we ate mainly at Spice'n'Rice as it was not much more cost than on the beach but with much better quality.

Lower pool area was very nice, great touch the ice water and fruit during the day, Sun loungers were difficult to find unless you arrived at the pool very early however a much greater number were available on the beach.

The beach at Kantiang is nice but not pure white sand as you may hope to find, it was nice to stroll up and down during the day and pop into the town for a quick lunch or supplies.

Rooms were lovely, very spacious and clean.

Room Tip: Bay View Rook 402 - Lovely uninterrupted view with easy access to Pool & Restaurants

This resort is stunning and in a fantastic location. The rooms are beautiful. The food was great. Amazing views. It didn't feel crowded at all (it was low season...). We would happily go back and recommend it to anyone.

Sawasdee FrenchAussie_13 from Tokyo.
Thks for review ; and great to see you were travelling in September and that one can have enjoyable time at that time of the year.
Some would tell you not to travel to this part of Thailand from May to October as it is the "rainy/ monsoon" - ....! Absolute non-sense - one can read more about that season on F.A.Q on the Pimalai website.
So thanks again for staying with is in September ! Sunny Rgds from Lanta ! Franck

Booked this for a relaxing luxury retreat and got exactly that. The trip started with a fab private speed boat down the beautiful coastline into the resort. Loved the two different pools - one at the bottom by the beach and one up high looking out to sea - only downside was couldn't always get a sun lounger up there. Thoroughly enjoyed the spa pampering too, a lovely setting. A great dinner alternative is Same Same restaurant just a short walk down the beach - my husband went here 10 years ago and it's still as good as he remembered! Liked this place so much I'm returning next month.

Our first visit to the Pimalai and it certainly won't be our last. The resort has one of the best settings we've ever stayed in , the hotel grounds blend so well within the 'jungle' landscape and have fabulous views of a prestine beach. The resort is nice and quiet , ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday unspoilt be commercial development . Staff throughout the resort were attentive, polite and really can't do enough to help you. A special mention for the food and service in the Seven Seas Restaurant , fine dining in a beautiful setting at a very reasonable price for the standard and quality of the food.
