“Authentic Thai Food”
Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

It was worth the Tuk Tuk journey to sample the food which was very good.
Homemade spring rolls, Pad Thai with Chicken, beef with ginger and pork with basil were all spot on, not too spicy and rice two beers and two gin and tonics and the total bill was 620 Bhat. A bargain!

“Typically Thai”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Ate here a couple of times . all outdoors, excellent Thai food. My friend had a HOT Indian curry too - wow - was excactly indian and mega spicy/hot. I am a sweet and Sour person, one of the best and reasonably priced too . Situated on Main Rd Pra Ae just past Funky Monkey and before The irish Embassy bar. Well worth a visit.

“Yum yum!! Fabulous authentic thai food!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

We went to this restaurant on the back of trio advisor comments and weren't disapointed! We went 2 nights ina row and had 4 dishes each night....each one gorgeous...so tasty and looked great.

Staff were so friendly (thanks tony and Bea) and the place was packed each night but they always looked after us and found us a place to sit....

As commented in our reviews, we're not talking posh dining....you can have that at Tides.....it's on the side of the road and the kitchen is open to view the hard working team .....but it's REAL!!

dont miss trying the beef/chicken/pork in fried basil or the same meat in garlic and pepper....or the green thai curry.....i could go on.....

If you want true thai food made by real thai people and a view to the real ko lanta....come here!!

“Delicious thai food and best cocktails!”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Went here for lunch and all the food was amazing. So simple, fresh and tasty! The service super quick and friendly. The surprising thing was the cocktail! 80baht mojito and one of the best I've had on the whole thailand trip!

“You must get to this little gem of a roadside restaurant”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

This was a gem of a restaurant and we just had to go back twice. With so many dining options in Ko Lanta the fact that they had a second visit says so much for how good it was.
Posh, this place is not. It is roadside in the south area of the road between Saladan and Long Beach, right next door to the Irish Embassy bar (worth a visit!!). Food is served fast here - no waiting around or confusion with what was ordered.
The kitchen is 'open' so you can watch the staff work in an amazingly efficient manner. How they do this with no computer hand held ordering devices and slips, I do not know how they do it but get a table near to the kitchen and just watch how well they work. Educational as well as great food.
Taste was great and it was fab value for money. Not a place for a romantic meal for two but I can't recommend it highly enough when you just want a great tasting, authentic Thai meal. Enjoy!
