Owner description: Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to rehabilitate suffering and sick animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm and our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the centre every hour, between 10am and 4pm. If a rescue dog needs exercising, visitors with appropriate experience may take them on one of our three walking routes. The best time to exercise a rescue dog is from 8.30am - 11am or 15:00-17:00. We do not walk our dogs in the heat of the day. The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here. NOW OPEN: Kitty City and Kitty Cafe! Enjoy a bite to eat or a refreshing iced tea while hanging out with our rescued cats.

We visited here last week on a 3 day break in Koh Lanta & it was well worth the visit. The passion of the volunteers shines through & you can really tell how well the animals are loved and cared for. We were shown round by a lovely lady from Amsterdam who told us all about the work they do & we got to hold and play with with some of the puppies and kittens who needed some love. We also were able to take a couple of the orphaned dogs, Belle & Rocket, for a walk on our own down the the lovely beach which was a great experience for us & the dogs! :-) We bought some funky T-shirts & bags there which help support the centre, so may sure you have your wallet with you! Thoroughly recommend this place to any animal lover visiting Koh Lanta, it's truly inspirational!

Saw a cat being operated on! took the 3 crazy sisters for a walk. The staff are doing great things for the animals and the island. Good on them!

We went just to check it out and got positively surprised! We got à free guide tour of the place and got to walk à couple of awesome dogs who Loved bathing in mud. The place feels very serious and good for the animals. We would defenitly have stayed longer as volonteers if we had the time!

Great to meet the dogs, they all looked happy, well looked after and in great condition! Allowed to meet any of the dogs and have time with them, they all loved a fuss, met some of the staff and looked round the building, then took denver and pumpkin for a walk on the beach, they seemed to love beeing out and it was a great way to spend part of a day!
