The only reason I didn't give The Lanta Residence all fives was because when we went to check in the lady at the desk told us she was putting us in a room on the beach .. which confused us because we knew this hotel was not on the beach. We ended up getting driven down the road to a place called Lanta Summer House and were told that for 2/3 nights that we booked we would be staying here and that the man that drove us there would be back to pick us up then. Not impressed.. but what could we do? They obviously over booked. Lanta Summer House ended up being the worst hotel we stayed in.. check out my review on it. It's too bad because once we got back to The Lanta Residence it was quite nice! Big rooms, good location, nice bathrooms. A bit on the loud side as it is so close to town. The owners were nice and it had a good breakfast.

We stayed here for 12 nights. The staff is nothing but fantastic, and handles a couple of minor issues instantly. We also got a bigger room than booked when they saw that we came with a baby. The also drove us to the beach and to restaurants gladly since we couldn´t rent a motorbike when travelling with two small children. The rooms are ok with good wardrobe space. The breakfast was surprisingly good for such a small hotel. The pool is nice, although the childrens pool is a bit deep for the smallest kids. Location is ok, close to Sala Dan, but a bit far to walk to the beach. Would recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed at the Lanta Residence Boutique for 13 nights and were impressed from the moment we first walked in. Kai (the owner) greeted us with her beautiful smile and the check in was very smooth. We rented a motorbike from her for a reasonable rate. We received an upgrade in our room, and it was very large with a full size fridge and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a good size and had hot running water. Breakfast was included and it had many choices every morning. Great location to Saladan, and with the motor bike we could go to any beach we wanted. It was quiet at night. The pool on the 4th floor was clean, and quiet. We went there every day for the morning sun. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it for anyone who wants a reasonably priced hotel on Koh Lanta.

Perfect, clean and very safe place to stay at. Close to Saladan and very clean nice pool att the top of the building. The big rooms have big refridgerator, balcony with mountain view and safetybox. The bathrooms are nice with lots of space I´ve stayed her for long time and the staff is very friendly, so is the owner. They will help you with anything you ask them about. I higly recommend this hotel. Try the sushirestaurant in the hotel.

First off, should just say that this place has changed names and is now Lanta Residence Boutique (called this on Agoda). Our bus driver seemed confused when I told him the name of the place and sure enough, it was obvious he did not know where this place was when we got to Ko Lanta.

We checked in and were very impressed with the room. It was spacious with a large double bed, fridge and TV (was a bit disappointed with the channel selection, since the hotel website advertises "cable TV"!). The balcony was also good, although we were on the side of the hotel which overlooks communication masts! We also had a sink on our balcony, which was very useful for washing clothes. Breakfast was also good, with option of Bacon & Egg, American style pancakes, cereal and toast with butter and jam. We were also impressed with the free tea and coffee making facilities near the pool area.

We used the restaurant in the evening a couple of times and found it ok, but would say that it didn't always appear manned - although this could have been due to it changing from high to low season.

Location of the hotel was great, and only a few minutes walk to food stalls and restaurants. The hotel also offers motorbike rental at reasonable rates.

But by far and away the best feature of this hotel was the owner. Kai made our stay memorable and was always providing service with a smile throughout. Her English is limited, but she always made an effort, including driving us around the island for the day in her truck for Songkran and reassuring us when the earthquake hit near Indonesia and the threat of a Tsunami loomed. A few days after Songkran, Kai presented us with a framed photograph of us both during Songkran, with a caption that had been added by computer - for which we were very grateful. It's things like this that make the comments below of her cheating people's friend very hard to imagine - she did not appear to be this sort of person in the slightest.

We loved our stay, and ended up extending it through Kai directly. We will definitely return to this hotel if we ever return to Ko Lanta.

Great location for exploring the island and close to many excellent restaurants and shopping. Far enough from the main road so not noisy. Has a rustic charm about it, albeit building exterior looks somewhat dated and reception area a little cluttered. That aside, very friendly staff always willing to help, generous room size (de-luxe), comfortable bed with fridge, tv, wi-fi and safe in room. Premises kept very clean. Basic breakfast but ok. German bakery a short walk away for yummy cakes and refreshments. Easy to get to nearby sandy beaches and relax at the end of a day by/in the roof top pool. Not much english spoken, but better than my Thai and communication was never a problem. Staff able to organise trips to local attractions at competitive rates, as-well as transfers. Overall an enjoyable stay and good value for money

Room Tip: an upper level room on the lift side of the corridor provides a good outlook from the balcony. rooms...

My friends were staying in this hotel for one month, but the owner claimed that they were staying 2 months (it's not true, my friends left from Koh Lanta after one month..) and charged double price for no reason..Owner (women) asked deposit for the room 10,000BHT and didn't return the money until my friends had to pay much more. They didn't get any receipt after booking room, that's why the owner had a possibility to cheat.

There is also "fitness room" with running mat that has been broken couple of months..one couple had to change their hotel room in Christmas time to another room for no reason..nobody helped them, even though they were staying 3 months and had lot of stuff with them.

Be aware of this hotel! Owner is mean, she was just laughing when my friends tried to talk about this situation. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
