First off all, this hotel is located between long beach and the lighthouse. I think it's a great laid back location. If you walk further south there is this cool place called blue moon as it offers great reasonable priced authentic food. Anyway back to pada. I think the hotel itself is not bad. I had a room with a fan but had access to the pool and the beach was there as well. I'm trying to be as honest as possible as it's important for all reviewers to share honest opinions of their experience. I have been travelling nonstop for 5 months and I have to say the guy or owner who greeted me was incredibly the most rude, pretentious and unwelcoming person I have ever met. Such a shame because koh lanta itself is laid back and friendly. Well this fella who isn't Thai was slimey and inconsiderate. He seriously need to enrol in a hospitality course and learn how to be pleasant with people in general. I wouldn't return unless he leaves. And another thing, he would nt return my 2000 baht deposit as I was struggling to find the paper in front of him. Meanwhile he had the proof with him and refused to give me the money. I believe it s a 2 way street with both signatures needed. Fortunately I found the paper and got my money back ...not from him but from his female colleague. She wasn't too bad.
Anyway I feel bad for the staff working there as you could sense the environment as very tensed. I met some of them and they were pleasant. In conclusion, hotel wasn't too bad and if you can ignore the poor hospitality, then come here. They say they are a 3 star hotel but with 5 star services. Thus this is very untrue.

Ps. Don't buy packages from them as they are mOre expensive than others. Secondly, they do not offer free rides from the pier as advertised on the website. they blamed it in agoda for not removing it but i saw their other websites showing free rides. I had to pay 300 bahts. Weird, I called and emailed them previously and repeatedly about this matter but they didn't bother to reply.

I just realized this place was too stressful. Such a shame because koh lanta is a nice place.

Room Tip: Better to get the room that is closer to the beach instead of the building. I stayed I a bungalow wh...

We were lied to by the owner and would therefore not recommend this hotel as it put a dampener on our whole experience.

We inquired about travel to Kuala Lumper and the owner told us we could take a minibus direct, it would get there the same day, there would be no bus changes or stop offs. Having checked Google Maps to ensure this route was feasible (it could be driven in approx 9 hours) we clarified with the owner that there would be no overnight journey and would take only 1 bus which he confirmed was correct. This was all untrue and we ended up travelling for 22 hours, swapping buses 3 times with numerous stops in different towns. We felt very hurt by the owner's untrue advice. If he had been honest with us the journey may not have been as bad, or we would have caught a plane instead.

About the hotel itself, the room was ok but very basic for the price paid as it was quite damp smelling. The wifi signal was very poor. The pool at the nearby hotel was a lovely place to relax, as was the beach and the garden of Pada itself.

The restaurant next door does great local food but beware its very spicy!

It's such a shame that the deceitful owner ruined our relaxing time in Thailand.

After some issues with the hotel we had originally booked on Lanta, Pada went to great lengths to help us late in the evening when we were stuck for somewhere to stay. The staff at reception were so friendly, helpful and full of character and you can see from the way guests greet them that they clearly strike up a great rapport with visitors.
Our stay was only OK in that the room had A LOT of bugs. We woke to ants on the pillows etc. We had a bottom floor room so perhaps this had something to do with it. The food in the restaurant wasn't particularly good. The noodles in my Pad Thai were overcooked and difficult to swallow. But the staff again were very good.

Good hotel with attentive staff and a great inclusive breakfast with many choices. We stayed a week here during the peak season. They seem to raise the price during peak season, understandably, so it was a bit expensive for Thai standards and what we're used to paying. But it was hard to complain. Our bungalow was fantastic - no AC but we didn't need it. No mosquitos in the room. The room was cleaned daily. Beach nearby is small and can get crowded, but it's very close to bigger and more developed Klong Nin. A plethora of great restaurants within walking distance, as well as an onsite restaurant. Didn't use the pool at the hotel next door, but it looked nice and the pool bar has a good happy hour. Music at Pada Bar was loud some nights, but for the most part it was off or turned down by 11. I did talk to some guests who complained about their rooms in the main hotel - perhaps the bungalows are the way to go...

Room Tip: The bungalow was a great choice. Maybe better than the main hotel rooms, according to some guests.

WORST HOTEL IN THAILAND and we have stayed in over 40 hotels in Thailand. We looked at this place on Agoda and went to the front desk and they quoted a rate more than double Agoda. They said they ran out of the advertised rooms and Agoda was wrong so we needed to pay more and could only stay in the executive room as it was all they had. Then we were going to leave and suddenly they said that there was a Superior room available, the same room they said they never had earlier. So we said yes to it. We then did some more research online and we were in fact in a BASIC room, next to reception which was LOUD. The room was not great and the bathroom was way below average. TERRIBLE HOTEL WITH TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF. AVOID!!!! There are much better places on the island for the same or less money. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!

Dont arrive here expecting luxury or a great swimming pool and 5 star breakfast and you will be fine .The Pada is charming the staff are the best I have met on all my travels ,smiles .help and a friendly welcome from everyone from owner Shaadi to barman /breakfast waiter Mook ( topman)
We had a family room with balcony ,always kept clean and restocked with water, limited Sky tv , The beach is a 2 minute walk away but better to walk the 5 along the main road to Klong Nin beach .The bar in the garden in the evening is a must ,great place to unwind .7-11 Two mins walk up the road and Tuk Tuks are cheap enough outside . We spent 3 weeks in Thailand over Christmas in 4star resorts and then came to Pada and this was so much more fun !! Would recommend it to any families heading this way ,Miss it !! Good luck Shaadi and Ben says Hi to Ron .. Thanks !

Room Tip: Balcony romms are best

We have stayed here twice in the last few months & both times were AMAZING! The staff, the rooms, the location, the facilities, the garden ... Everything is perfect! The owner, Shadi will go above & beyond to make sure you're having a good time & that everything is ok, The receptionist, Rem is a top bloke & so friendly & the bar tender makes the best cocktails! We returned just after the new year as our friends we're visiting from home & every one of them enjoyed it! We chilled in the garden almost every evening & Shadi joined us! We arranged two amazing boat trips through Shadi & Rem & the prices were better than the tourist centres! We hired bikes from the hotel & explored the whole island! The location is really good with shops etc near by! After our day trips we would go & chill by the pool next door or go to the beach which is a stones throw away! Really good value for money & you will not be disappointed! Thank you Shadi & all of your staff for 2 very memorable trips to Koh Lanta! We will definitely be coming back to see you!! Take care! Kelsey & Sam & all our friends!!
