We originally booked 2 nights at Pada but ended up staying 4.
The new owner of the hotel is more than welcoming and very very helpful with all your needs.
We booked a double bungalow which was lovely, super comfy bed, huge clean bathroom with shower gel and shampoo and best of all it had a mosquito night light which worked a treat!
The bungalow however had a few problems with the lights and tv connections so the owner kindly moved us to a new room which was perfect.
The pool nearby is a great area to relax with the beach right on its doorstep.
The food at Pada is great for any meal of the day.
The new owner has worked hard to create a great relaxed atmosphere in this hotel and him and his wonderful staff should be proud.
Highly recommend this hotel!!!

What a find ! A fab place that must be the best value for money anywhere on Ko Lanta.
We (wife and I) initially booked for two nights. We rented a motorbike from reception and had a look around at what other accommodation was available and then extended our stay for seven nights. Quite simply, this hotel exceeded all our expectations. The room was excellent, lots of space with very comfortable beds / good quality bedding. The room was also very well equipped ie. kettle / tea coffee, fridge, mosquito zapper, large bathroom with hot shower and plenty of toiletries, flat screen TV / cable channels, safe... Another unexpected bonus was in-room internet AND loads of films and tons of music that we could stream to our laptop! To top that off, everything worked! We had a room with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea, the views and the sunsets were fantastic. It is less than a minute walk to the beach and all hotel guests can use the beachfront pool of the resort which is next door. The Pada hotel even provides freshly laundered beach towells for guests to use!!
The staff were all lovelly (there seemed quite a lot af staff) ey were all very were all really polite and allways helpfull - nothing seemed too much trouble. The owner is also extreemly nice, a great character who is really easy to get on with. At the rear of the hotel is a nice garden area with a variety of seating areas and a bar. There is also a restaurant at the front of the hotel.
The area where the hotel is situated is nice and quiet yet it is only a two minute tuc tuc ride (or a 10 minute walk) a bit further south to quite a busy area of beach with lot and lots of bars / restaurants. To sum up, we found the Pada Hotel :
1) incredible value for money
2) in a convienient, quiet location, but with easy access to a much livelier area
3) spotlessly clean
4) well staffed with very helpfull and extremely nice people
5) having everything we wanted for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
We would definetely, without reservation, reccomend this hotel.

We have been traveling now for nine months, staying on average 3 nights in each place but the Pada Hotel keeps pulling us back.
Initially my husband and I booked for two nights but extended to four, we left the island but missed Kho Lanta so returned and booked in again at the Pada for two nights and extended it another two but guess what ... we are still here!!
Please ignore the old reviews, the hotel is under new management and he should be incredibly proud of his establishment.
Great location, lovely staff, comfortable rooms and all at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: We are staying in a room on the top floor overlooking the gardens with a sea view and it's just...

All in all my experience at Pada hotel was positive. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning works very well. There is a really nice pool at Lanta Palace for guests, free to use, just a 2 minute walk from the hotel, as well as a great little beach to boot. The place is under new management and the guy is doing a very good job at making the hotel much better than it was.

Only a couple of negatives.

First, the wifi. It only works in the lobby so if you need wifi you will need to go to the small lobby space to sit with the other guests trying to get the signal. And the wifi is very slow. The owner told me this was the fastest wifi you could get on Koh Lanta, which may just mean Koh Lanta has very slow wifi. I can’t verify this as this was the only place I stayed, but it was the slowest wifi I’ve had in all of SE Asia and I’ve backpacked in SE Asia for a total of 5 months now (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos), so this was a bit surprising for me b/c Koh Lanta seems fairly developed.

Also, while this was a problem only one of the nights I stayed here, it can be quite noisy if you have a room adjacent the garden or if you are staying in a bungalow, and about half the rooms are adjacent the garden and the bungalows are all close to the bar area. There is no “bar close” time so if guests are out there till late, you will hear everything – music, laughing, etc, from your room or bungalow. I wasn’t even going to write this review but I could not get to sleep b/c of the noise so I figured I would make productive use of my time not being able to sleep. It is now 1:00 am and I can still hear the noise. Maybe I'll try to watch a movie. I came to Koh Lanta to escape the noisy drunks that tend to congregate on Koh Phi Phi and Koh Phangan but as it turns out, if those drunks are staying at Pada Hotel and out in the bar area, you won't be able to escape their noise, even in your room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the garden if you are worried about noise.

We booked 3 nights in Pada Hotel and extended our stay for another 2 nights. We had a Bungalow which was clean and big enough. Warm water shower, AC and mosquito nets were all there. Only downside was that the bed was a bit too hard for me.
The garden is really nice. It is a 2 minutes walk to the Beach and to the swimming pool of another Hotel that you can use. Beach is nice, hardly any rocks, clear water, sunbeds for free. The way to the beach is not nice at all though. It is dirty, smells of rubbish etc.
The staff and the owner are extremely friendly and help our with everything. Problem is that the reception is not also available and you sometimes need to wait until the reception guy is back because they have no back-up.
The Restaurant at Pada is not a highlight but the one at the beach from the other Hotel serves awesome food for low prices.
Pada Hotel is great value for money and I would definetely recommend it!

The new owner has made this place a really great place to stay, as evident by all of the more recent reviews, so disregard the old reviews (changing a business name isn't the easiest in Thailand so I suppose he's just hoping all of the good recent reviews will outweigh the old reputation). Stayed in a bungalow for 3 nights and it was just perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the mosquito trap and not having to worry about mosquitoes attacking me in my sleep. The ladies at the front are so helpful and kind as well. After a long day of exploring caves and beaches throughout the island, this was a great place to come back to.

We booked for 4 nights but wound up staying for 8 because we loved it so much. Phenomenal service, super clean rooms with soft blankets, effective but quiet mosquito traps, and free coffee and tea. It is a 2 minute walk from a lovely uncrowded beach and Pada hotel has an agreement with another hotel so the guests can use a waterfront pool! Pada also has a nice restaurant and coffee shop with authentic espresso drinks. Pada has a new owner who is from Dubai and he is kind and helpful and has very high standards for service! We were surprised at how much we got for the price! I would disregard old reviews because the new owner has renovated the place, and it is quite lovely. Also- we booked a 4-islands snorkeling tour through Pada for 850 baht and it was exactly what we had hoped- plenty of time for beautiful snorkeling and relax
