My husband and I stayed at the Crown Lanta for 6 days to celebrate our 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary.

We arrived in Koh Lanta via speed boat and then had a staff member from the hotel pick us up at the pier.

We booked an Ocean Pool Villa and it was amazing!! We had fantastic views of Phi Phi Island from our own private pool.

They gave us a bottle of champagne, a cake, fruit platter and had decorated our bed with flower petals.

Breakfast at the hotel was nice overlooking the ocean, lunch by the pool bar was also quite nice. We took the free shuttle bus into town which was only 5 minutes away and we had dinner out every night. Try the Black Pearl restaurant, very nice!!

The staff at the hotel were lovely, they were always willing to help and were very friendly.

I would definately stay at this hotel again!!

Excellent hotel. Well maintained, good location, view from breakfast was magnificent. Food in the hotel restaurant was also very good altough a bit more expensive than elsewhere.

My wife and I recently stayed at Crown Lanta in room 2116 which was one of the Ocean Sunset rooms. Upon arriving at Krabi airport, we were met by the hotel staff and and took a 2 hour transfer by private mini van/ferry to the hotel. The van had a coolbox with various cold drinks - a nice touch. When we arrived the the resort, we felt an immediate calmness. Check-in was pain-free and we were given a welcome drink and cold towel. Our room wasn’t ready, so we relaxed by the poolside area and enjoyed a drink. The room itself was great, superb views of the ocean - in my opinion worth reserving one of these rooms. The resort has a few steep hills and steps so be prepared to so some walking, but the hotel provides a car to transport guests - we found it good for exercise. We only dined at the hotel restaurant for breakfast, great views of the ocean, breakfast quality was pretty good. We recommend Koh Lanta and Crown Lanta, both have a unique charm. The resort has a few rough edges and could be a little more polished, but I think overall, it adds to the charm.

We stayed 5 night in an Elegance Deluxe room and payed around 1100DKK pr. night including breakfast.
Crown Lanta is a nice 4 star resort (which claims to be 5 star which it is not) but it is located quite remote which you need to be prepared for.
It is located at the very end of the beach and there is only three resorts in that end, but if you don't want to eat in the rather expensive restaurant you can go to the resort next door (5min walk) which is much cheaper. Otherwise you can walk further down the beach (15min walk) and will find plenty of options.
The resort have free transfer to the nearby Saladan village four times a day (5-10min drive) and otherwise the cost is 1½USD pr. person per way.

The resort is rather big and you have to do a fair amount of walking to get from one end to another. The resort is divided in two parts of which all the villas and elegance deluxe rooms are located a 5min walk from the reception and the other rooms (and some quite steep paths).
The staff will drive you around and pick you up in your room and drive you to the repception if you call and ask them.
The Resort have two nice pools and a small private beach which is kind of ok, but not great.
You can easily walk to the main public beach from the back of the resort and it is a 5 min walk. The public beach is quite nice.

The Elegance Deluxe rooms are nice and spacy and have nice balconies - we had one with a great ocean view.

Breakfast was quite good without being anything special (their coffee latte was quite bad).

We did not eat at the restaurant as we found it too expensive and most evenings we went to Saladan where there is a much better choice.

The hotel offers free kayaking and snorking from the private beach.

The gym was ok, but very hot as the A/C is not sufficient - it was also a bit dirty as other public areas.

We found the staff quite nice/helpful and did not have any issues as other people have complained about. There english was not perfect - but we did not have any problems being understood.

All in all we liked the hotel but would most likely not come back due to the location as well as I found it a little expensive compared to what you got. (I would rather have a smaller room in a better location) - I would say paying 75% of the price we paid would have been fair to good value.

I have so many fabulous memories of our time at both crown lanta and and koh lanta itself. I am so glad we opted for this island and not the typical Australian haunts on Phuket and koh samui. Yes there are northern Europeans EVERYWHERE but the same is said about the aussies in other parts!! This resort is something special and deserves it's glowing reviews including this one. The relaxed feeling in lanta flows to this resort, the rooms are beautiful, the pools are amazing, the private beach is awesome and breakfast is more than adequate. The real beauty of this resort is in it's unpretentious attitude, it is not a resort that thinks it's better than it really is. Loved it.

We stayed here for 5 nights on our travels around Thailand! We loved the hotel, great breakfast, excellent location, helpful staff, lovely pool and sunbathing facilites. Room smell slightly musty on arrival which was resolved by the housekeeping staff placing a citronella oil burner in the room. Free shuttle at several times a day and evening to saladan village. Would recommend this hotel for those who want to 'chill' out.

Despite extreme steep steeps, hills & curves the rooms and layouts where nice. The beds to firm for my taste.
I liked the pools but the chemicals mixed in left your skin & swimwear very smelly.
The sun beds where nice and soft, even more soft the our in room bed.
OK privet beach so was the breakfast.

My problem was with staff that kept eyeballing me during my sunbathing, the pretending not to understand when requesting something, the waiting 45 min for a beer, the information that we do not have white wine when the person next to me is drinking it, the 60 min it took to cook my T-bone in an empty restaurant, the waiting for the hotel shuttle to pick me up to avoid walking yet another flight of stairs.
The maids did a good job cleaning our room.

We where charged 600 Bath for use once slippers that we forgot by the pool.

We stayed 2 days planning to stay 6 but checked out early because this hotel was not for us.

Most likely we will not be back.
