“Peaceful, beautiful, freindly service”
Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

We had a room with pool access and it was lovely. We could relax in the room, or go up to the main pool on the cliff. There were so many different places you could relax- on the (small) beach, cliff pool, lower level pool, reggae bar. The price of drinks in the mini bar were so reasonably priced, and room service was great! The food was very tasty - both Thai and Western food. The service was very friendly and the golf cart taxis would take us up the hill to the pool. Even though the hotel was pretty full, we only noticed at breakfast because people are so spread out. We were there with two kids and they loved snorkeling, taking the golf cart to dinner or the pool, and the pool access room. We loved the Reggae Bar- amazing sunset, cozy salas or lying area on the beach. I would recommend this place to friends.

We have been here for 13 days and had an amazing holiday. Something we'll never forget.

Resort has a beautiful location on a hill with lots of forest surrounded. Very nice staff 'Nay' at the reception and manager 'Wichit'. All the staff had a very high service level. Nice and clean spacious rooms, which were cleaned every day. Good wifi connection throughout the whole resort. No nuisance at all. Pretty good small gym with new equipment. Two nice pools with good sun beds and free towels. Although the resort is on a hill, it was doable on foot. But also for this, there was a great service with golf carts or small transportation cars to bring you wherever you wanna go on the resort.

The food at the resort is of excellent quality, no matter what you order. In terms of price also especially fine if you stick to the oriental cuisine. Western dishes are more expensive, but hey your in Asia, so love the great Asian food. Especially the Pad Thai. The Reggae bar where you can sit romantic with some nice music in the background has a great vibe. At this bar you can also order the delicious food. The Peak Restaurant on top of the hill is a romantic place too for dining with a great view on Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta beaches on the other side. At the main pool you can also eat which is cozy with the small lights in the evening. Friday's the had an great bbq with delicious food and especially a lot of fish of the best quality. Breakfast was included for us and also of a superb quality and choice. Drinking alcohol (wine) is perhaps a bit expensive, but that's a standard in Asia as far as I know.

Beach near the resort is great but small and a little bit rocky, but great to sit there watching the sunset with a glass of wine. During the day you can take a free canoe. The nearest large beach is just around the corner and you can do just fine by walking. From the main pool, there is a shortcut on the right side of the Spa building downwards. The seawater is great and clear. Perfect to swim around in.

There was a free shuttle service several times a day that brings you to Saladan. Saladan has shops, supermarkets, restaurants, diving schools, etc. Most of the time we took a tuktuk back, which cost you around 100 BHT total max.

It takes you not more then 15 minutes walking to be in the middle of this very long beach. Massages at the resort, but also at the beach are great and offers a perfect quality. Halfway down the beach you will find a couple of massage parlors (small houses in open air) with prices ranging from 200 to 500 BHT.

At the reception of the resort you can book various excursions, scooter or car hire. Scooters driving without insurance and all the cars are with. Car hire from about 1200 BHT a day. We did twice a tour with Opal Travel and a great trip. One to Koh Phi Phi and one to Koh Rok. Trips cost about 1700 bht per person. Costs more than worth it. The boat ride is fun and beautiful. The snorkelling equipment is included and lunch also. Koh Rok is a stunningly beautiful tropical island with the whitest sand, clearest waters and a great snorkeling spots. Lots and lots of beautiful coral with tropical fish. And off course there's a lot more to explore in this area of Thailand.

Just returned home after this memorable second staying in Crown Lanta.
* Very good hotel, wonderful location nearby Saladan on a hilly cape with great view to Ocean and Phi Phi Islands, when staying around Cliff/Peak side of the resort and in a Ocean view room. Ocean view room was exellent, quiet to sleep and wonderfull to enjoy sunset privately, total luxury!
* Resort's own beach is not that big, but as a snorkeling site it's exellent! Advisable to wear a visible life vest/bright floating marks to let the bypassing boattraffic and long-tail boats to notice you when snorkeling far out the cape. Could see red tail butterflys, a juvenile harlequin sweetlips, many bluespine unicornfish, neon damsels, few singular and longfin banners among many others.
* Cliff pool is beautifull, pool staff very helpfull. Pool bar is nice.
* The Cliff/Peak restaurants are great, though a bit expensive comparison to local thai food restaurants, yet we had the best Tom Yam Goong/Gai and Phad Thai in there, Special Thanks to Cheff woman cook! She even helped me to get equipments for snorkeling while pool staff in thet moment were not around! And special thanks to Mr Tek for his everyday joyful smile and happy service with his lovely and smiling staff!
* The breakfast is tasty with several choices of different styles, even enjoying it 22 times! Especially selection of fruits! And again the Staff is so lovely serving you with care.
* Rooms are cleaned every day, Special thanks to our Chambermaid Ao!!
* The Staff in front desk/reception is helpfull. Special thanks to Mr Nay for services and room arrangements.
* The Pick Up service works nice, when walking hill up and down feels to much in a hot day. They also have transporting to Saladan and back with no fee in daily evening time sceduled.
The Most Sincere Thanks to Mr., who helped us with transporting while having an accident/leg wound and needed quickly to get to Siam Clinic. And to assistant girl who translated and helpped us to get proper medical help. Thank You very much!
Love to stay in Crown Lanta, certainly coming again! A Lovely jewel of the best Thai friendship and smile!

Room Tip: Ocean view sunset rooms 2116-2120 have the best beautiful view and they are guieter.

Just return for a 6n/7d accomodation in Crown Lanta.
Very good hotel, staff always very friendly and ready to help.
Rooms always perfectly clean, swimming poll amazing, breakfast with lot of variety.
Easy transport to saladan by 1,25€ per person.
2 small private beach and 3 min walking to a public beach ideal for kids with bar and massage area.
The only not soo good point is the food a la carte... Too expensive. Can get the same by 1/3 of the price outside.
No doubt i would return to this hotel.

The crown lanta is a beautiful place to stay. I loved our room with pool entry, it was lovely. The food at the hotel was tasty as well (since I had food poisoning from before I got to the hotel) just the peace of mind of not getting sick was great.

The breakfast was a light summery style breakfast. The rooms were clean and had everything that you need. It is a big hotel but they are happy to pick you up from your rooms. We borrowed movies for a quiet night in from the front desk which was great. When we left the hotel early morning they also had breakfast boxes for us so we didn't miss out on our breakfast. The staff were friendly and the travel desk was great at helping us organise our airport transfer (which consisted of a private speed boat and felt very James Bond esq having to be at the airport super early).

A highlight for us was the reggae bar... We loved it! The vibe and music was so chilled and relaxed, the cocktails were great (especially 2 for 1 happy hour) but the view was great. It was so peaceful at night time and I have some of the most beautiful night shots from my trip whilst at the bar there. The fire shows were great, we watched them three times while we were there!

It is also great you have beach access. We went swimming and snorkelling at the beach and it was lovely. Very private and we got to see lots of fishes.
The hotel isn't the cheapest by any means but you are getting what you pay for and for me it was a treat.

While we enjoyed the staff at the bar and restaurants, my partner and I's experience with the reception staff ruined our stay. Upon arrival we were quizzed about a third party that was booked - we had only ever booked for ourselves, and received several calls after being placed in our room about this to different reception staff, even after we had fallen asleep for the night. We received a fax from our travel company regarding our transfer times but were not given it until we requested it from reception three days later - they hadn't planned on giving it to us unless we requested it!
The day before check out we were offered a late check out of 2pm but on the last morning received a call at 7.00am informing us that they 'needed the room for a another booking' and could we please get ready to leave! Woken up and angry I told them that we wanted at least out minimum check out of 12pm.
Upon 11.30am as we were packing our bags, a staff member bursts through our front door (we had paid for the most expensive room with a private pool) without even a knock, and demands to take our bags away while the cleaner stands at the front door trying to get. Absolutely ridiculous! We told them we were still packing (and my husband getting changed in the bathroom) so they waited in a buggy outside our room talking loudly till we left.
While the room and private pool was nice, there were no nice, sandy beaches in the area like the photos and the resort was nice, but very hilly if you wanted to walk around with small children.
