“You couldn't ask for a nicer place...”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights on our second visit to Ko Lanta within three week. I just wished we'd of found this place the first time. The location was brilliant for us, far enough from the road so there's no noise but in walking distance to the beach. We were both I'll when we arrived (eat some bad food on Phi Phi) and we instantly felt much better once we stepped in to our room. Compared to the place we stayed at on Phi Phi, this was paradise. The rooms are all designed by Yuko, the owner, with a lot of thought. Example. The very cool emergency torch connected to the room. The thought and care into a room design is something you rarely find in Thailand. It was a very modern room with a great flat screen TV, a lot of channels, fast wifi and the bathroom was perfect. I left the best until last. The bed! The beds belong in 5 star hotels. If you don't get a good nights sleep on them, there is something wrong with you.

The location is very good. Set back from the road but just a 2 minute walk down a lane will leave you on the road. Directly opposite there is a great restaurant, Krua Kritsana. You also have a mini art, ATM, travel agent and a couple of other restaurants right there on exiting the lane.

Overall, this was probably our best accommodation on our two month trip. Being here allowed us to finally relax, sleep the full night and get over our sickness which Phi Phi gave us.

If I ever return to Ko Lanta, I will definitely book here.

Thanks, Yuko!

Room Tip: Only 6 rooms, we had a comfort room and was very spacious and perfect for a couple.

We stayed at ES for 4 nights with our 2 kids, 3 and 5. As all places rated highly on TA, ES met our expectations and proved to be of a standard above much of what you can find at this price range on Koh Lanta. We liked that it was small, quiet and tastefully done, with all the bungalows constructed well and beautifully. The linens were fresh and clean, of a high quality, which was a simple relief after staying at a basic style homestay. the kids liked the DVD player, cats, and small pool which was not ice cold. There were no other kids around but that was ok, bc we split our time on KL with ES and a more kid-oriented, beach front resort. Zen was great for us: the porch was a nice hangout spot so close the pool and surrounded by tropical plants. zen is good size too, even for the 4 of us. The fridge, dishes and kitchen sink were so helpful. We appreciated that there is a minimart nearby for snacks and fresh fruit. Yuko runs her operation well- she was excellent in her communication before and during our stay. There was however a miscommunication with our transfer to ES, but I am sure this is not common. Her staff was very helpful and kind, cleaning the rooms excellently, and our laundry was done very well too. despite some damage while ironing a shirt, we were so happy with the service overall that this did not bother us too much. They rectified the issue generously. I appreciated that the room had zero bugs and there were only a few Mosquitos on the property. Can take a stroller to beach but too far of a walk for kids under 3.5 unless you carry them. My only suggestion would be to follow in the footsteps of other well regarded guesthouses we stayed at in northern Thailand and offer filtered water from a dispenser and/or refillable glass bottles, instead of offering multiple small plastic bottles. Great place overall.

Stayed here recently in low season for 4 nights. We stayed in the cottage which was great and our 7 year old loved having her own space upstairs. Great access to the pool from our cabin and Yuko was extremely helpful with everything and was always about if we needed to ask her anything. We also loved the cats, the comfortable beds and the privacy. Allow plenty of time for the airport transfer as the 2 car ferries can have very large queues.

Room Tip: In a lot of resorts we had to share a room with our daughter is we really appreciated the extra spac...

I loved this place-stayed a month in "cozy". Yuko, the owner is really gracious and helpful and the three women who work there are also great. Mai and Nat took really good care of everything while Yuko was away in Japan for awhile. It really felt like home. I can't wait to go back.

Me and my wife stayed there in the beginning of July and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. It was a low season so there was fewer tourist than normal but that was good.

We stayed for the first 10 days in ZEN cabin which is really nice (kitchenette, big room, nice toilet, good pool front patio with sun lounger, good bed etc.). The overall facilities are good i.e. the swimming pool is good, they can arrange tours and there are plenty of good restaurants within 2-5 minutes (walking) and it is also a very good place to have a massage in about 2-4 minutes. Yuko will give you a map which shows all of these places which are nearby, very helpful.

We decided to extend our stay and stayed in Cozy for two more nights which was good but not as good as the ZEN cabin. Cozy cabin is smaller than ZEN with no kitchenette but the bed and the toilet was nice.
The staff was great and Yuko very helpful. I highly recommend taking the snorkeling trip and also going to a cooking lesson.

The only thing which might be better is that the wifi signal was not very strong in our cabin but still okay.

Overall the stay at Escabe Cabins was excellent!

Room Tip: Ifyou want more space choose ZEN or Living
