“Great Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

I stayed here in March with my partner and 2 small kids. From the moment we checked we were made to feel welcome by Kim ( Northern Irish ) and her staff. Always easy to ask for advice and talk to. Bungalow we stayed was great for the 4 of us, a 1 min walk to the beach and restaurant - which was very good. TV, fridge, AC and bottled water provided each morning. I would have no problem coming back to stay here, in fact we are thinking of booking again for next year.
Thanks again guys for the stay..

Stayed here in November in the Thai Style stilt type houses. This time I stayed in a twin room.. Lanta is a more expensive place than mainland for rooms - and this place had all the options and prices to match. From Fan rooms to the lovely stilt houses or the sea facing rooms. Right by the beach. Great staff too, there is nothing they cant help you with either - from Bike hire - to day trips to Laundry,. Clean rooms, fabulous gardens too. No facilities to eat. there is a beach bar right on site (owned by different people) a 7/11 (open 24 hrs, just near the Entrance to the resort.). Loads of bars and cafes along the main road along with those along the beach. Will be staying here again (hopefully)

Just returned from a great trip to Thailand and a great stay at Thai House. My husband and I stayed in one of the three Thai House Bungalows. It offered plenty of room for the two of us, with a fridge, free wifi, TV with a few English channels, and bottled water provided daily. The bathroom could use a little TLC and bed was a bit firm (as was every bed we slept on in Thailand!), but overall the rooms seem on par or above than other guesthouses in the same price range. Just a stones throw to Long Beach. While no beach chairs are provided from Thai House, if you walk 200 yards or so to the right there are chairs and umbrellas that can be rented for $2 USD a day.
What really makes Thai House a standout though is hosts Kim and Ni. You couldn't ask for friendlier or more helpful people. Kim gave us a number of great food and drink recommendations and Ni organized a day trip to Koh Phi Phi for us. We were always greeted with a hello and a smile, not something we can say for every place we stayed.
Motor scooters are available to rent also for $250 THB/24 hours and we highly recommend taking advantage of it. The island is big enough to need a scooter but small enough you can explore it in one or two days. The beaches get prettier too as you head south, and we had a blast riding from beach to beach. Kim and Ni will let you ride around in the parking lot to get a feel for them if you've never ridden before (like me) but they are a breeze to get the hang of.
As most people commented, the restaurant on the grounds of Thai House is a bit overpriced, but decent food. Plenty of great places to eat (and for cheap!) within walking distance, and a 7-11 at the top of the road is incredibly handy!

we stayed there 5 nights and enjoyed our stay all the staff were very friendly & helpful nothing was
to much trouble hiring of scooter to booking forward travels. Very pretty location beach front and
nice garden area. The bungalows are all different sizes & prices... The price was more than we had paid on other islands but it seemed the same in most of the beach resorts in koh Lanta. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The restaurant on the resort was expensive but outside
the resort lots of bars restaurants to choose from and a 7/eleven to hand so could stock the fridge
with beers etc so you could enjoy a drink on your terrace.

Room Tip: No 9 in the garden was a nice big room for 2

We only spent two nights at this resort, in a family bungalow, which comfortably housed 1 double bed and 2 single beds, TV, fridge and kettle. Bungalows are nicely spread out and our bungalow was about 50 meters from the beach and the same in the other direction to main road and shops, restaurants and travel agents. Staff and owner all very helpful and friendly, free WIFI in reception area, there’s a restaurant / bar (not owned by same management as resort) on the beach, we never dined here but did have a few beers. If the Management asked for any suggestions to improve our particular bungalow, I would suggest a new shower system with a better water pressure and maybe extending the patio area about a meter out, the present one is only designed for two people to sit out, there was four of us and even though we borrowed 2 small chairs, not adequate space for four adults to sit out and have a beer. The only other thing that needs either replacing or repairing in our unit was the fan, it was just too noisy to leave on at night, we had air con, but I do prefer a fan at night, find AC can cause me to have chest problems during night. Overhaul a good two nights stay and good spot for a family. This is our second visit to Koh Lanta in three years the previous time we stayed at Bannana Garden Home on Klong Dao Beach, which we found was a nicer beach and also bungalows for slightly cheaper rate, to be slightly more Thai feeling. Overhaul friendly and helpful staff, with good communication through email, I would probably stay here again but I do prefer Klong Dao Beach.

We stayed in one of the new family bungalows. There was five of us in one room, but the size was okay. The porch area was small for us but would be okay for two.The plumbing in the bathroom was disappointing, smelled a little off and very little water pressure in the shower. The most irritating factor was the constant supply of mosquitos, no matter how hard we tried to keep them out.The rooms were cleaned well each day and the staff were friendly. The complex was prettily planted and had a nice feel. It was very handy to a large selection of restaurants. Our favourite being Tiger Wings and Mays. The restaurant (separate business) on the beach is beautifully located but way over priced. We were a little disappointed in this accommodation overall as we had received so much more for our money in Central and Northern Thailand and all other places had adequate mosquito proofing. Kim did provide us with a kettle which we appreciated but there was no complimentary tea/coffee/fruit/water etc which we had become accustomed to and I had to ask twice for extra toilet paper and soap. We had booked in here for 6 nights at the end of our holiday and stayed for the duration that we had booked. It's not easy to relocate a family of five in peak season but we were happy enough stay there anyway.

Room Tip: Ask for a mosquito net!

We stayed here for a couple nights after having a terrible experience at a different hotel. They have a range of accommodations here from fan bungalow that were tidy to neat wooden thai houses that were moved from a jungle. The check-in with Kim was really great, she is so friendly. There is a nice book exchange at reception too. Our room was cleaned everyday (very unusual for Thailand) and there are chairs where you can chill out in the sun or shade and watch the ocean. The restaurant is a little pricey, but really delicious (it is a separate business, but right at the hotel). The beach is really nice and long. Lots of restaurants to choose from and there is a 7-11 right next to the hotel.
