Spent a week here in April and loved it. The bungelows are amidst lush foliage and a couple of steps from a lovely beach. The only criticism is that in front of the bungelows there was a little rubbish and lots of toys that could be packed up each day and used as when but you are welcome to go further down the beach anyway. The bungelows are well appointed with free amenties, free water and a free fruit plate in the afternoons. The breakfast (also free) is simple coffee and toast but brought to your verandah each morning when you awake. The restaurant is a little pricey but well worth it especially the seafood. We were here during the tsumani alert and Annie and her staff could not have been more prepared and helpful. We were taken up into the hills to a smallholding and looked after with a care that you would not have found anywhere else. Annie had blankets, food, water and even the wifi came!! Thank you Annie for your calm in a very scary time. On returning to the bungalows late that night, Annie and her team made dinner for all the guests for free and we celebrated together being alive. Even when we decided to go to Escape Cabins because we were staying long term (6 more weeks) and Annie was busy closing for the season, she assisted us and even invited us for a meal in the following weeks. the staff were all friendly, helpful and fun! This is a wonderful operation that deserves its accolades.

We stayed at the Banana Garden Resort in early April. Our wooden hut was lovely - a nice spacious room with an ensuite wet room. The room was cleaned impeccably everyday with daily fresh fruit and water put in the fridge. We also really enjoyed the toast and coffee that was provided on our balcony every morning (at a time to suit us).

The beach around Banana Garden is absolutely beautiful. Having been travelling around and being quite busy we thoroughly enjoyed how relaxing and picturesque the location is. We walked all along the beach in both directions and didn't see anywhere that we felt would have suited us better. We were really well looked after and would thoroughly recommend anyone to stay here!

We were at this place in april, the last month of the season. You quickly notice that it is the end, some hotels close their doors, restaurants close and boats are not leaving Krabi anymore. I read some other traveler's review who complained about this and adviced not to go to this island. Remember that they also visited Koh Lanta at the end of this month.
About the place: true that the beach is not as white as some other beaches and that there are dogs, but where in Thailand are they not? Biggest problem is that these dogs do not belong to anyone and so no-one feels responsible for cleaning up after them. The place itself is a real and cool place. No stiff personal who just care about making money but true people who really want to make your staying good. Annie is the absolute best, she lives for this work and she will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as it can be. True that the other personal isn't as good as Annie, but that is also because Annie is just one of a kind. They cooked us and the other guests special lunches, organised a kooking-course one day and she wants to guide you (or help you with) exploring the island.
Bungalows are great, spacious and good value for money with AC, a good bed and warm water. The place is right on the beach, next to a nice litlle bar and massage-place. Here everybody comes around 6PM to watch the amazing sunset.
If I would return to Koh Lanta I would definately book this place again. Annie and the staff made us feel special and at home.

Stayed here for 4 days with my girlfriend and a couple of friends and it was really great. Breakfast i simple - toast, fruit tea / coffee, but they serve it right at your door, which is nice.

The huts are clean, beds are good and bathroom is also nice. The owner is the nicest lady and really helpfull about booking your onwards trips or giving other information. Also scooter rental can be done there which was perfect.

The restaurant connected is also really nice and a great place to enjoy the sunset every night.

All in all, it is a really good base in Ko Lanta and I will stay here again if I return to Ko Lanta, no doubt!

I really dislike leaving a bad review considering Annie is a wonderful person. But this was a miserable place to stay on Ko Lanta. I have no clue why everyone is leaving rave reviews seeing much better places down the beach. In fact the only reason we booked was based on the Tripadvisor reviews. So how did everyone get it so wrong? Have you never been to a nice beach in Thailand without dog poo and garbage?
First off the beach is polluted with garbage, which is no fault of the resort. But makes for a misleading brochure and/or website. There is garbage all over the property, the kitchen area had a plastic bag on the stairs full of sand sitting for three days before it was picked up.
I really feel sorry for Annie, she is always working. Her staff on the other hand are either on facebook or no help whatsoever. We asked for the food to be charged to the room and they didn't understand. And asking for beach towels everyday is like asking for a kidney. They don't smile or really care about cleaning up the place. No pride in their work and it shows. Not once was breakfast delivered to our room as promised. Not a big deal, but if you promise something then follow through. Also didn't even get breakfast for the first two days for some reason. The staff just ignored us, Annie was on the mainland for a couple days while the staff ran rampant.

The food is at best ok. The beach is never raked, the dogs growl and one lunged at a little kid. There are kids toys all over the place, kids are crying at 6 am making sleeping in impossible. Our room was right in front of a taxi/ tuk tuk area which woke us up everyday when the drivers start their cars. The alley or road if you will, floods with water so you cannot walk to the main street.

The room mattress was so rock hard we put all the extra blankets and bunk bed mattresses on top. The shower has almost zero pressure and has a musty smell. I know what everyone is going to say that you get what you pay for. But reason i'm leaving this review is to warn people about all the absolutely false and misleading reviews before mine.

We walked into much better places down the beach. But i would like to also warn people to avoid this island altogether as Ko Samui is much nicer. Ko Lanta is full of bad energy, pollution, miserable people, and thai food that is the worst we ever had in Thailand. Plus most restaurants we tried either ran out of beef or tea or this or that..... Didn't see the 'Thai' smile hardly at all. So skip and go elsewhere. Especially considering it's a 2.5 hour drive from Krabi airport.

Room Tip: Stay on a beach further down the island.

Before booking with Annie I literally read 20 or so reviews and 99% were very positive and they were right. The room was a good size with a double bed, AC and a hand held style hot shower.
Breakfast which consists of limitless coffee or tea and toast was part of the package. The resort also has its own restaurant which serves good meals for lunch and dinner. Annie reminded me of the favourite auntie, the one that always had a smile on her face, happy and jovial, with a good sense of humour. Nothing was ever to much trouble for Annie and her staff, and on top of that they always seemed to be happy.

The resort is located on Klong Dong Beach, which is a beautiful cresent shaped beach approximately 1.5km long, and slopes gently down to the sea shore. The water is generally very calm and shallow for a good 25 - 50 metres into the ocean, so it is particulary good for young familes and those who are not confident or good swimmers. There are a number of restaurants located right on the beach, so you will never go hungry and the prices are pretty reasonable. Most of them also have happy hour in the late afternoon when you can get a good bargain on beers and cocktails.

Some tips -
Hire a motorbike to see the various beaches at the southern end of Koh Lanta, they are beautiful and visit Lanta Old Town to see an old style Thai fishing village.
Have lunch at the Diamond Cliff Restaurant with great views or the 'Greek Taverna'.
Have dinner in Saladan at one of the many restaurants built out over the Ocean.

Overall I would definately recommend staying with Annie at Banana Garden Home.

Room Tip: Choose a room towards the back of the resort as they are the quietest.

Pro:
-The owner, Annie , was helpful , friendly & trustful . She helped us to book a car from Krabi to Lanta at a reasonable price.also she recommended us go back to Krabi by ship at lower prices .
- provide cheaper prices of activities such as Rok island visting ,
-wellcom drink , fresh fruit jucie ,was impressed .Room delivery of breakfast was punctual .
- Everyday room cleaning service was provided .
-use high quaility Panasonic air-con & water heater .
-its restaurant use fresh seafood for cooking .I like its shrimps & cuttlefish .Other nearby restaurant used poor quaility ones .

Con
the muddy road outside the house needs to be repaired .

I was sorry for staying at it for 2 nites at BGH & spend more nites in Krabi Aonang .
If you want to have Natural island visiting, go to Lanta island .
If you want to have shopping & nightlife , go to Phuket .
Krabi Aonang is too small . You need to spend about USD 15 , to go the the Krabi town . It is expensive .
