I stayed in this hotel in February 2011. At that point I thought if they would invest in same new furniture it would be very good hotel. In almost 3 years time nothing changed. The furniture in the room was very old with just one night stand and one chair in double room. Even if there was plenty space in the room. The air condition was so old I was afraid to turn it on.
3 years ago there were a lot of sun beds and parasols around the pool and on the beach. They cleaned them and put them at the original position every night. After 3 years there were the same sun beds there, but there were just around 10 left and almost all of them were broken so I was afraid to lie on them and I am very small. They were lying all around and nobody were taking care of them. There was no sign of parasols. It seems the owners of the resort (I have no idea why it is called resort) do not invest in hotel at all.
In the room you get only one towel, which is very old and most of the times thorn. At the beach you can get a pool towel for free but if you are not lucky it can be the size of a hand towel so it is not a good use. And of course most of them have seen better times.
The breakfast is poor so you have enough of it soon. There is not a lot of choice. The dish is also very old and not very clean. You do not need to look at it very closely to see stains of various colours on it.
The food in the hotel restaurant was still good, but there is luck of good atmosphere there. Most of the other restaurants on that beach have that. They had happy hour for the cocktails (which were otherwise very expensive), but we got them in a smaller glasses and with almost no alcohol in it. I recommend buying them somewhere else.
There are two good things about this hotel. At the reception desk is a woman, who can speak very good English. She actually understands everything you tell her (she is not just nodding to you and pretend to understand you which a lot of Thai people like to do) and she can explain everything to you without any help of hands. She is also very efficient. She can organise everything from the one-day trip to transfer. The second good thing is that the resort is on the nicest beach on Lanta and there are a few very good restaurants nearby.

Room tip: Rooms are actually small houses. But some of them are joint and the wall between them is very thin so you can hear everything, even a cough. It is better if you get single house.

We are a family of 4 (2 boys, 9 & 11) and stayed here for 6 nights in their best bungalow right on the beach (room A00 - the best room they have for sure) and the location was fantastic. The room was basic which was fine for us as it did have a fridge…it also has a TV. The bathroom is good size but the shower drain does not work properly so there is standing water which smells but it's manageable to deal with unless smells really bother you.

They offer a buffet breakfast which sounds great but after the 2nd day we decided to eat breakfast elsewhere & found Rickeys just a short walk away with great omelets & pancakes at great prices (80 Baht for an omelet w/bacon). The buffet has quite a few selections but they don't have heaters on the trays so the food gets cold and many times they will leave the covers off and you have to fight off the flys…this is quite gross when they are in the yogurt. If you're a coffee lover then go to Monkey Bizness which again, like Rickeys, is just a short walk away and they have a great coffee selection. The resort has only instant coffee.

The rest of the food on their restaurant menu was very good and we ate there at least 6 times. The Thai & Indian choices were very good and the kids liked the pizza that is cooked with Nan so it's thin yet tasty. The prices are reasonable.

If you want friendly, attentive staff then you'll have to go elsewhere but if you aren't too concerned about it and aren't in a rush then the food is worth the wait and the inattentive staff…we chuckled as we watched 2 waiters watching TV & another on her phone while we sat for 15-20 minutes with empty drinks and none of them even glanced in our direction.

There are many restaurants within easy walking distance (5-10 minutes) that do have very friendly staff.

The beach is nice and clean and the area very safe and never had a concern the whole time but do be careful of the drivers & mopeds.

We were at the resort for New Year's Eve and they put on a special event and it included a dinner buffet…oh, no…the dreaded buffet again. We did indulge in the buffet and the food was quite good but when it sits out in the open for hours can get a bit funky and we had some upset stomachs that night.

We did a snorkeling excursion to 4 islands & this is marketed everywhere…a long tail boat takes you out to the spots and it's a long ride and you'll get drenched if you're in the front…so take the back seat or go on a speed boat because it can get a bit rough riding long distances on those long tail boats.

I did a multiple dive with Lanta Divers out to Ko Ha and they are a good company and located right across the street from the resort.

We also took a taxi to Old Town and it's very quiet so if you like that then it's worth it to grab a taxi for about 300 Baht and spend a few hours to visit the shops & to grab a bite to eat…we ate at the Beautiful Restaurant and it's got a great view and a really cool layout. We also stopped into a small bar, Tels, owned by a Brit by the name of Terry who is worth the visit to say hello…he's seen more of the world than most of us dream about seeing.

Overall our trip to Ko Lanta was great for our family.

Room tip: A00 is right on the beach…all the other bungalows are set back from this one with 3 of them still having beach views from their patio and the others do not have beach views & some back to the road.

Stayed in a standard, garden view room during the high season. Most disappointing hotel of our two week travels through Thailand. The room had an unpleasant smell, mold in the bathroom & the AC unit appeared as if it had not been cleaned or dusted in a very long time. That being said, the bed sheets were clean & the bath towels although extremely old & worn were also clean. I would not return & could not recommend the property to anyone I know.

We booked this hotel at the last minute with a travel agency in Bangkok without reading any of the reviews. We're sold a premium suite for which we paid top dollars, when we arrived the room, we asked for the safe and they told us they had to install it, when we opened the closet it had hanging two stained white robes and 2 pillows that also had perspiration stains, never had been washed, we asked to remove them. The bathroom had a very strong sewer odor all the time, When I asked for the room to be cleaned they came and swept for a minute in a few spots and left. The Breakfast was the worst we have seen in all my travel. Friendliness Zero.
The pool is a plastic pool and it was fool of green algae.
The only good thing was that the Beach Klong Nin was very nice... there are other nice hotels in the same beach, next time we are going to Andalay Boutique Resort. There are great restaurants also in that area try Roi Tai Rest. We couldn't get a refund because I had paid the Travel Agency direct.

Me n the mrs were holed up in so e real cheap bungalows for 5 nights at the end of our 2 month trip and wanted to stay further down south in a decent resort , we scootered the whole stretch that nice beach resort sits on and decided to stay there for 3 nights as it ticked more boxes than any of the 10 or so we looked at. We paid 1500 a night for a real comfortable room with ac , fridge , comfy bed , hot water etc etc. It also included a buffet brekky which ok wasn't the best but fact that I could knock up bacon sausage n egg butties till a popped it was spot on for moi. The beach that the hotel sits on is gorgeous and the pool even tho small was a great alternative for a quick cool down dip. Gotta say the staff were prob the friendliest or just about up there in all places we've stayed so just made you relax from the off. The wifi was good with 4 different spots to Suit you sitting in room , by pool , restaurant or lobby. I read that you can get better value on other reviews but we can totally assure you when we were looking it was the best value .. Thanks to all the staff for making the last 3 days of our hol and anniversary special

Room tip: Garden view or pool view just as good as beach front and abit cheaper
