Lanta Nice Beach Resort

We stayed at Lanta Nice Beach Resort for 5 nights in November. On the positive side i highlight the awesome location right on the beach with a nice beach bar/restaurant with quite good food at low prices. The rooms respectively bungalows are a bit too basic for the money you pay. The available sunbeds and umbrellas were in pretty bad condition, so were the scooters they rent out (250 baht per day). The staff in the bar/restaurant area was anything else than enthusiastic and a bit too laid back in my opinion. They could make this an absolute fantastic place if they just invest a bit to upgrade the essentials.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more an book a bungalow at the beach front

We booked this place on Agoda after spending tons of time reviewing hotels online. We noticed there were some negative reviews, but Lanta Nice Beach seemed to be the best option in our price range. After arriving, we wished we had splurged a little more and booked a nicer place. Now, it's not a bad hotel, we just feel that for the price they should provide better rooms and services. We were in a garden bungalow, and I'm glad we were not on the beach side because I think those rooms would be noisy as they are right by all the action (pool, restaurant, beach traffic). I liked the bungalow a lot actually, but the bathroom could use some renovation- there was packing tape on the door, the shower area looked dingy, the soap was poor quality- overall it just needs some work. Also the A/C was pretty old and didn't blow the air around the room at all. We liked the mini-fridge (although it was broken and the staff spent 30 mins repairing it), water bottles, electric kettle and coffee packets.Also, you have to pay like $20 more for breakfast to be included, which is tasty but overpriced (especially the espresso drinks, good lord!). The restaurant staff needs to get their act together- they were all over the place and completely unorganized. We'd have like 3 people ask us for our order in a 10 minute period, and they tended to hover. Puts a damper on a romantic meal... The food is pretty good, but there are better places nearby- Roundhouse, Jai-Dee, etc. On the website, the pool looks huge- this is not the case, especially with all the young kids that were there during our visit. It was really nice for a post-ocean dunk in the afternoon though when I guess they were all napping. The beach is really nice here, very quiet and peaceful, warm water and good sand. Happy hour at the hotel bar is decent, and we spent a few afternoons having a cocktail and watching the sunset. But, there are so many hotels on Koh Lanta and several on Khlong Nin, that I'm sure you can do better than Lanta Nice Beach.

Room Tip: If you stay here, go for the garden side. The rooms are cheaper and quieter, and the beach is only a...

We tookk the boat From Phi Phi and a guy told us about this place. Normally, i avoid this kind of situations, but the guy was very nice and drove us to place without any compromise. We got a room in the inside of the road for an affordable 1000 Bths/night. Althoug we stayed over the 16/12 when the prices rise due to the peak season, the respected the original price. The swimming pool is nice and clean, and to swimm in the sea at night time was a gorgeous experience. Highly recommended.

We stayed there for four nights and five days. We rented a bungalow next to the beach (but not on the beach or with sea view from the window), 30 meters from it (the front beach or sea view or sea side bungalows were nicer and newer but also more expensive, and it just worth to pay more if you want to listen to the waves during the night). Our Bungalows had garden view, A/C, frigobar and cable TV (the only thing to suggest would be to arrange the shower since it didn't have enough pressure). Few steps from the bungalow we had the nicest beach, no rocks (as you can find in several parts of all the beaches in Koh Lanta), calm warm water, beautiful view (do not miss the sunsets!), a really nice swimming pool, and the greatest bar and restaurant! the chef is great (i got to congratulate him and all!), he makes the most delicious food at low prices (and you can choose Thai, Indian or Western cuisine). Not all the drinks were great, but i had pretty good Mai Thais! Everything is delightfully decorated and you can relax there just enjoying the location (if you don't want to stay there do not miss the food at the restaurant or stop by for a shake, a drink or a beer!). The staff is super friendly and nice, they try hard to indulge you and make you feel at home (even though not all of them speak english fluently, they try to understand you or call someone who can, and please your requirement). We also booked there all our tours (you pay a little more but you don't need to go around comparing prices). One thing to improve would be the toilets of the restaurant (they need renovation and to be cleaned more often). Before booking there i compared the prices and facilities of several accommodations in Koh Lanta, and this resort turned out to be well located (i think Klong nin beach is the best there! and the best places are in the south of Koh Lanta), but not overpriced (as other accommodations in the area, you can find bungalows for less THB in the same beach but they do not include breakfast or swimming pool). We were super happy with our choice!

Room Tip: if you would like to sleep on the beach or have the best sea view then pay a bit more and stay at th...

This hotel was perfect for me and a friend who had been living and teaching in Thailand for a few months. It wasn't too big, had a nice little pool by the beach, nice staff, great food, and located near other bars and restaurants. It's far from the town on the island, but you can rent a scooter from the hotel to do some touring. We were there in the off season, and for a while it was like we had the place to ourselves, which we really like. The room was big--it even had a little desk area and closet. The TV had satellite, which was great, as we'd not watched TV for a while.

It's not really worth paying for the beach-front view, as you have to take the same route down to the beach with everyone else (the buildings are up on a dune). It is worth paying to be on the beach side, not the across the road (i.e. garden view)--but if you are on a budget, it's not that inconvenient, like in some places. Western food isn't that great, but the rest of the Indian and Thai food is fantastic.

It is difficult to get to Ko Lanta in the off season--it takes a few hours from Krabi town, with two car ferries, and a long drive down the island. In the high season, get the passenger ferry from Krabi.

If I find myself in Thailand again soon, I'll probably try to spend more time at this little resort.

Room Tip: Beach side is best value--garden view is across the road, but not a long walk to the main part of th...

3 yrs ago Sept 2 (the next day as i write this), i moved to Koh Lanta-
and the very 1st place i stayed (at insistence of my Thai friends who stayed nearby)
was at Lanta Nice Beach Resort, , this resort is truly well named;
the beach is, indeed, very nice, and the water indescribably different shades of blue...
right in the south-cental area of Klong Nin,Beach,
at the point of my staying just completing a major renovation, including a nice beachside swimming pool;
this resort features clean, nicely appointed rooms each w/large bay windows & a patio w/chairs for looking out to the sea,
which is visible from all rooms, including several right at the sand, and the rest no farther than 10 meters (30 feet) from the sand...
a lovely patio & restaurant
(however i find the food just average,
and way too salty-
i stop by every few months to say hello,
we talk a few pleasantries in Thaiglish -Thai mixed w/English-
then it always gets to me asking them "you change your food yet?"
they always laugh & say "no, still kem" -salty-
at least they have a sense of humor about it!!!)
so i would recommend taking some beverages from the restaurant/bar area, or buying your own then just hang on patio, at pool, or on beach for our spectacular sunsets
and eating across the road at White Rock afterwards...
i have referred many people since to this resort,
and all without exception have been pleased,
oops i almost forgot-
there is a slightly cheaper annex right across the road;
no sea views, but just a 1-minute walk to their bar/restaurant
i visit the owners, a long-time Koh Lanta family,
every few months when i pass through Klong Nin,
and they see me around as well
(everybody knows everybody on our island!!!)
in summation, this is a very nice, pretty, well-run property
in a beautiful location on a very nice beach
whose owners & staff are eager to ensure their guest enjoys their experience...
and you will...

Room Tip: no bad rooms; about 1/3 are beachfront, the others no farther than 10 meters from sand (prices vary...
