“What a Pity”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2009

Brilliant concept. A cookery school/restaurant on the beach with a tasting menu consisting of 6 different dishes to introduce you to Thai Cuisine, what more could you ask for?. The place itself simply decorated but effective, good cocktails, music and ambiance. Then the disappointment , the wait between dishes 30 to 45 minutes between each one, all dishes except for 2 arrived cold and the portions were measly. Yes it’ a tasting menu but a little more on the plate would be appreciated. What we did get was tasty but we felt for we paid a lot for what we got (expensive for Thailand) . Furthermore, the ‘celebrity cook’ who we could see giving cooking lessons to her pupils did not appear to be in the least bit interested in those eating in her restaurant. We expected at least that she come to the tables to see if we had eaten well, but not even a thank you and goodnight
The rest of the staff were also pretty nonchalant and unfriendly

“We just couldn't stay away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2009

We were staying in the Time for Lime bungalows and ate there the first night. The food was out of this world but feeling like we should explore more of the island the second night we went down to the next beach to eat. The food was fine there but at Time for Lime was just in a completely different league and so we ate there every night until we left 5 nights later which I think says more than I could say in words. Beautiful food with such flavour - everyone on Ko Lanta should make the effort to eat here!

“Highly recommended!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2009

We had read all the good reviews about Time For Lime on Trip Advisor, so sought it out as soon as we arrived on Koh Lanta, and it did not disappoint. We had originally intended to eat at a different restaurant every night, but it quickly became apparent that the food at Time For Lime was in a totally different class to everywhere else, and so we ended up going there nearly all the time. Whilst there one day, we decided to attend one of the cookery classes and found it to be a fantastic experience. Junie is very knowledgeable, and teaches you how to cook the dishes in a clear, entertaining and straightforward way. The class began with a talk about the rudiments of Thai cooking and various tastings to illustrate, as well as recommending the best ingredient brands to get. She then showed us how to cook the first dish, then observed us as we cooked it ourselves, chipping in when necessary. Once done, we all sat down and ate what we had cooked, as her superb staff cleared the kitchen and set it up for the next dish. As well as what we learnt, the classes were also great fun and a great way to spend an evening. Oh, and they also do fantastic Mojitos, and most nights we could be found sat out front on their beach chairs, drinking a couple and looking at the sea. Highly recommended !

“The best place on Koh Lanta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2009

There is nothing but good to say about Time for Lime. The food is fantastic, and the mojitos the best we've ever had.

The cookery class is very well worth doing and both me and my hubby had a fabulous afternoon/evening learning how to cook some of the best thai dishes.

Junie runs the place and gives the classes and she idoes a wonderful job. Along with her marvellous staff she has created an exceptional restaurant which provides quality food and a lovely experience for all.
