“Loacated on the beach, on a reasonable budget”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2011

Stayed here for one night on our way back to Bangkok. Consist on a large number of bungolows/villas of various prices. Rooms are clean, with fan and AC, TV, and a balcony to sit on. Breakfast is included in the price, but get there early, its from 0700-1000, as food runs out and gets cold.

There are two swimming pools, one is invaded by people saving there sunbed, by putting there towels on them to protect them at sunrise. You know the kind of tourist I talking about.

There is one must to do here, is visit THAI CAT restaurant. Ok from looking at the beach, turn right and walk about 200 mtrs, You will see a few bars and it is just situated there. The best food I've tasted in Thailand. See my review in the restaurant section. Fresh Seafood BBQ in the evenings with outside seating. Enjoy a wonderful cocktail or mocktail as we did watching the sun go down over long beach.

The reception staff are friendly and helpful, a little cheeky, but in a nice way. Take some ear plugs if you want to leave your AC on at night.

I went to Koh Lanta on teh recommendation of a friend. I was travelling wiht another friend and we were recommended this place from a travel agents in Krabbi where we also booked our ferry.

We spent 4 days here and most of that was by the pool. After a busy week we needed a break. We stayed in a hut with twin beds and a private bathroom which was clean and tidy and offered us complimentary toiletries and beach towels. I had been used to staying in less luxurious hotels so this was a bonus.

The staff were friendly and willing to help with any queries. The bar staff were lovely, if a little slow sometimes but i think that is the nature of t he island. Everything seems to be at a slower pace here which we soon got used to.

The hotel is quite literally on the beach, you can see the sea from the swimming pool. We spent a few evenings sitting on their lovely deck chairs watching the most amazing sunsets i've ever seen.

The food at the restaurant is ok, but just a short walk along the beach is the Sawadee beach bar which has spectacular food and very friendly service. I cannot recommend a visit to this place more!

There is free wifi but it doesn't stretch too far. If you sit at the right end of the pool you can use it otherwise you need to be in their computer room. Each guest can have 20 compliemtary mins on their computer which was a bonus and helped us plan our next move.

Overall we had a lovely stay and i would definitely return.

We werent even staying here - but family were and so we took advantage of their relaxing air con individual 4 star bungalow, the pleasant swimming pools, chilled out bar on the beach front, tasty restaurant and very high class level of service. Not cheap but great for families and couples who want bit of luxury in the Sun.

Accidentally went here because we got a free transfer from the hotel beside it (which was worse). This obviously was much better in the vicinity but still not worth the time and money.

When we arrived, the prices were quite expensive but the bungalows seemed ok so we stayed there.

They initially gave us one room which had no water - it took them 30 minutes to fix it. Once it was fixed, the shower was giving out brown water. Disgusting! so they transferred us to another room after another 30 minutes. And of course, it had the same problem, Maybe after an hour or so, we finally got an upgrade. Water was still not clean but we were tired of complaining.

After this stay, we immediately left Ko Lanta. Not a good experience.

Only nice thing here is the Filipino lady in the reception. She was really nice.

We started our stay at Lanta with this resort, cause we found good opinin and obviously because of the beach. We made the booking on-line via other web site. The price for the standard bungalow was lower then on the hotel site. However the bungalow be got was not something we've expected :( that was a twin bungalow located at the very end in the garden, that's screaming for renovation... Even though the food in hotel restaurant was delicious, staff very helpful, nice and spacious swimming pool and great beach we decided not to stay longer then these 2 nights...

My holiday was during low season with sunshines 38 C throughout my 3 days 2 nights in Koh Lanta, Krabi. The sky was so clear that made the night charming with sparkling stars. Best Value - Best Choice....thumbs up for this comfort beachfront resort with beautiful spacey room which has been renovated, infinity pool by the beach, amazing sunset and delicious food. An relaxing resort with easy to access to arcade. I would definitely go again, thank you for another remarkable holiday.

Booked this hotel at the kiosk at Krabi airport and got rate of 3000B. Welcome at hotel was nice, rooms more than good enough, clean, mosquito tight without needing a net , the refurbished ones do have really nice bathrooms though so get one of those if you can.
The only two gripes I had with the hotel were the breakfast and the pool area.

Once you have four or five people round the pool it becomes very crowded and not very inviting to anyone else.

The breakfast though was an issue for us.... there seemed to be a HUGE amount of cost saving and penny pinching going on.
Everything was heavily watered down, the juices, the milk, even the coffee .... had to convert to tea while staying here, and even then tea bags where on very strict rations and had to be very insistent to get hold of a teabag rather than accept the large watered down pots of tea.
Understand need to make profit, but this really was pushing things too far, the premade waffles at breakfast were cut into waffle 'fingers' to reduce the amount that people took, and bacon was 'ham sitting in a dish of warm water'. With the exception of the rather stern man supervising breakfast (and guarding the teabags) the staff were ok, not typical Thai friendly but ok. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful though. Generally found breakfast at the Ozone further down the beach a better bet.

Internet access is charged for and is ok but computer gets busy, but if you have your own laptop then there is free wifi in the reception area which is very handy.
The grounds are very nice and kept clean, so apart from breakfast this is an ok place to stay but for 3000B per night there are much more cost efficient places to stay.

Oh and annoyingly rooms are locked with a padlock which meant I ovten left the room and locked it without bringing the key out, which meant much searching for the spare key at reception.

  • Liked — Very clean resort.
  • Disliked — Excessive public watering down of things such as milk and juices.
