LaLaanta Hideaway Resort

Stayed for 4 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The sea view bungalow was very comfortable. All the staff were great, especially Chico and also Patrick the owner who all made us feel like extra special guests. I couldn't fault the hotel and would love to visit again.

We chose this resort for it's beach and romantic setting. We wanted something remote, but not completely cut off. With being so far from the city and no transport readily available, unless you arrange a tour there is really no escape. The food was nice but it would have been great to mix it up at some other local restaurants however the location made this difficult. We experienced resistance when trying to book tours due to the weather. After being firm with our requests, we enjoyed two gorgeous days out and about without any rain. On the last night we had decided to have a final romantic dinner with our favourite choices only to discover that the menu had been replaced by a seafood buffet! Not eating or enjoying seafood/fish meant early to bed with some French fries in our room. If they had advertised their intentions it would have been fine.

Despite these issues we really did enjoy the resort and all it had to offer. We kayaked almost to the Lighthouse, loved swimming in the sea, read at our bungalow and enjoyed the monkeys as they tried to outwit the staff for a serve of breakfast.

LaLaanta resort is truly a unique hideaway. I had my first experience to Ko Lanta in March of 2013, and was fortunate enough to have experienced Ko Lanta while at LaLaanta. From the moment we arrived on site we were greeted with nothing but fantastic service. Tony and Patrick, as well as the entire staff at the resort have gone well out of their way to ensure that the resort is complimented with intricate detail. This is reflected from the walkways - to the cabana - to the restaurant - to the beach. The rooms, were very clean with comfortable beds and fresh linen. Each room being a cabana with a patio and lounge and in some instances a hammock. We had booked the room last minute, and upon arrival had found that much of the resort was visiting for a third, fourth or fifth time. The food was delicious, and the ambiance surrounding the restaurant and bar is great for friends and couples. LaLaanta is hidden near a national park and is very private - which only further contributes to it's beauty. There is free use of snorkel and kayak gear during your stay. As LaLaanta is just nearly the furthest point from the pier, we elected to take a long boat through the jungle side to arrive at the resort. The ride in was beautiful, and I would personally recommend a boat over a taxi - However, I advise anyone looking to boat in to be careful during your price negotiations (as this is something we clearly did not do). My only regret is that I did not have a long enough visit to this resort, but I intend on going back yet again this year. Thank you everyone for making the experience such a pleasure!

Room Tip: Nearly every one of the rooms has a ocean view. Spectacular.

The facilities of Lalanta are quite good - the bungalows are good, there is a pool and a beach volleyball court. However, the service is bad. Nobody is ever at the reception, many of the staff members seem not to do anything - they play darts, watch TV, chill in the areas that are actually for guests. I just did not feel like a guest - more like a visitor...If you are looking at a good place to stay at Longbeach - try Baan Phu Lae Bungalow.

I travelled with a friend to LaLaanta in March. We booked on short noticed based on the great reviews and certainly were not disappointed! We had just been to the chaotic Ao Nang and Ko Phi Phi and decided to unwind for a few days on Lanta. Best decision ever!
The rooms were well maintained, with many small touches showing the consistent attention to detail throughout the small yet charming resort. The food was excellent and always came out quickly. The beach was lovely and quiet and the whole place has such a unique vibe that I doubt I will find anyplace else.
If you are in Southern Thailand for the club party scene, this place isn't for you as it's on the far end of the island and is quite far from the main pier, but this is what makes it so magical! I wish we would have had more time there as it would have been great to check out the dive site and national park.
One word of caution, it was a beautiful day and my friend and I did not want to spend an hour in a taxi so we took a long boat, and I'm embarrassed to say we were conned into paying 4000 baht for less than a 2 hour long boat ride from the pier! Be wise and just take the transportation offered by the hotel :)

We stayed here for four nights and its a totally amazing, relaxing place. We had a very interesting transfer to arrive here including four taxis, one plane and a speedboat but it was definitely worth it! The staff that work here are so friendly and make a real effort to look after all the guests. I cannot recommend it highly enough. You will receive a very warm welcome from Chico who manages the resort. When we arrived, we were given a welcome drink and then shown to our room which was lovely. The bed was up on a raised platform and the room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated in a simple, traditional style. All of the paths between the rooms were well maintained and the pool area was lovely. With a little help from Chico, I was able to enjoy lots of traditional Thai dishes there without having to worry about my nut allergy. The breakfast was vey good and felt nice and relaxed. As the bar and restaurant were in the sand, we soon realised that shoes were not really needed for a stay here. One evening at around sunset, the bar staff challenged the guests to a volleyball game. It was great fun to watch and everyone got given free beers and water after the game. We were also lucky enough to be there on Valentines Day and the hotel put on a special BBQ for everyone in the evening. The staff went fishing in the day and their catch was very impressive! We dined very well that evening on loads of amazing seafood. They also provided a fire show and an unforgettable drag show from the one and only Chico. It was so much fun! If you are looking to stay in a beautiful, relaxing, quiet place where you are really treated as one of the family and not just another guests this is definitely the place for you. We are only sorry that we had to leave.

We stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing time. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, spotless and serene. The pool and beach area are well set out. There are enough activities if hammocks, massages and lazing isn't enough to keep you entertained (canoeing, beach volleyball, walking, elephants, trips into town). The food is really good and service is perfect. Wish I was back there now. Can't fault it.
