Lovely guest house, owner is so funny, kept asking our room number and are we checking in, even after two nights. Rooms were big, clean, nice bathrooms, no bugs, Breakfast was good, cheap beer, good location, sociable area so easy to mix with other tourists, nice deck over the pond with hammock. Would recommend

You have to try and have at least a full day and night at Baan Lotus if in Ayutthaya. The woman who runs the place is the sweetest "older" lady. There are bike rentals, quiet campus, pond, wonderful rooms, pleasant guests and atmosphere. After a rough arrival into the city, Baan Lotus changed our minds about Ayutthaya and we ended up loving the city so much.

Room Tip: Just ask for a basic fan room which is all we needed. Maybe ask to see the room before booking if yo...

This place is great! The owner is the sweetest lady that I met during my trip. The place is very clean, with a great location and safe. You can rent a bike for 50 THB for the whole day and you can take a good tour from there also. The price is very good for what you get.

We ended up here when a very apologetic Tamarind Guesthouse messed up our Christmas reservation. Our first impression was that our large but basic AC room was a little gloomy but the outside space with hammocks and seats around a lovely lily pond and the warm welcome we received more than made up for it. A well managed, friendly, helpful and relaxing place with all the usual excursions, bike hire and laundry available, plus a simple breakfast of coffee, toast and bananas for 50B

The location was quiet, yet close to the large night market, the small backpacker area with bars and restaurants and a five minute walk & ferry ride to the train station - handy if you have a big backpack or fancy a daytrip to Lopburi.

This nice guesthouse offers cheap accommodations in a wood building surrounded by a big garden in the centre of Ayutthaya.
You can rent bicycles to visit the historical park, or you can ask for a tuktuk to make tour of the temples outside Ayutthaya.
The owner offers to buy bus tickets to Sukothai, Lopburi and Chiang Mai but the final price is higher than the real cost of 30%, I suggest you to take a tuctuc for the bus station and to buy tickets by yourself.

I was stay here 2 weeks ago without any reservation. Spending 2 nights for my Ayutthaya trips.
I got the non AC room and shared bathroom for 300THB. Very cheap. The host is very helpful. She also arrange my transportation to Kanchanaburi. The room standard but clean. There a small restaurant but they only provide breakfast and tea/coffee. There's a pond behind the guesthouse with some lotus flower and fish. Bicyle rent also available. But i prefer rent a motor bike at Nareasuan Road, very close from the guesthouse.
The location is nice and strategic. Not far from night market and Naresuan Road (tourist area).
The garden looks abbandoned, it will be nice if they clean and maintain the garden.

Room Tip: Pick the room that facing to the garden and above floor 2. It more quite and relax.

We spent two nights at Baan Lotus, just around the corner from Ayutthaya's little backpacker street, which has several decent restaurants. It sits well back off the road, and is quiet, but the walls are thin. Use your ear plugs.

The price includes a basic continental breakfast. Service was good.

The building is a charming wood structure with a pond out back and a walkway and gazebos for sitting. A bit of nature in town. Pleasant during the day, but buggy at night.

Decent bikes are available for rent, for the same price as everywhere else, plus a couple of tours. We took one to some outlying temples which could be tough to reach by bike and ended at the night market. Worthwhile.

Our only problem was the air conditioning. In our room the regulator didn't work well and in steamy Ayutthaya, the hotel provided only one thin blanket. So we froze all night! Better and quite a bit cheaper to get a fan room.

Room Tip: Go for the cheaper fan rooms.
